So one thing ive been confused about sith this head unit is it says it comes already with a unit to retain steering wheel button controls, but with every installation video ive seen or someone selling olug and olay kits (for jeep wrangler jk) they all seem to come with another product like a maestro to handle this exact problem even on crutchfield the ine installation package lists the crux or ehatever its called to do this. So my wuestion is does this come with something to reatin steering wheel controls out if the box or do i in favt need to purchase a seperate product to do so.
Hi Brandon, the Sony's XAV-AX4000 receiver does require a steering wheel control interface as well to integrate with factory steering wheel audio controls. What year is your Jeep?
Hello, we're glad to take a look. We don't see a standalone midrange specified for this car; but which specific locations did you want to put new speakers into?
Hi Nic, sorry to hear your installation isn't going easier. You may want to try connecting with a different USB cable. If you got the iDatalink Maestro interface here, you can call our Tech Support as well. Their direct number is on your invoice.
Hi Alex, you can use it as a stand alone portable for sure; but you do have to take extra care installing aftermarket amps/electronics in any model Tesla. What year is your car?
Hi Eric, the JVC KW-M845BW does require a wired Carplay connection. You'll need to connect your iPhone via the USB input and pair it via Bluetooth. You'll find instructions for using the Carplay starting on page 34 of the manual here: pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20180412115300/Manuals/105/105KWM845B.PDF If you got the radio here, you can call our Tech Support for help with the setup as well. Their direct number is on your invoice.
Hey Crutchfield, I have a Kicker C10 4 ohm 300 watt sub, and a Planet Audio 1500 watt ACD10 subwoofer. I also have a 2000 watt Crunch amplifier, would these all pair together without any problems?
Hi, we're glad to help. To verify, the Kicker sub is rated at 300 watts RMS? And the Planet Audio sub for 1500 watts RMS? What is the exact model of your amp?
Thanks! Based on the sub and amp specs, this amp is going to offer too much power for both subs. Planet audio lists the AC10D at 750 RMS. Since the power ratings for each sub is substantially different, using different amps to power each will work better too. Would you like help choosing a better match?
@@crutchfield Im actually looking at a different set now, the two subs are American Bass XD-1222 1000w 12". I was looking at the Belva BXA15001 1500W Peak BX-Series 2-Ohm Stable Class-A/B Amp. Is this a good match?
What about Class A and Class D hybrids like Devialet Phantoms? I own one and I fell in love with the sound quality and the powerful bass. I am about to buy a Devialet Phantom 1 108dB version, but I am waiting for the next generation of Phantoms. Bluetooth 5.0 isn't enough anymore. I am waiting for Bluetooth 5.4 generation. I also asked Devialet, if they would use APTX Lossless Bluetooth codec and Wifi 7. Devialet answered to my question by saying noted. Next generation will come late 2024 or early 2025, hopefully.
Devialet power and sound quality is amazing! We are not showing any date or specs on the Devialet Phantom I 108dB replacement; but should offer it as soon as it's available so please check back.
The one in this video is the Kicker PXBTC. There are many choices on the market now and some as simple as just a Bluetooth receiver so its completely hidden.
My brake wire was green and when I finished installing it, the receiver only worked with the hand brake up, any help would be appreciated? 👍 Also my radio kit from metra didnt want to click in so it is just sticking out on its right side.
The parking brake does need to be engaged to use some features on the current AV models; but not all. Be sure to double check your connections and radio settings. If you got the radio here, you can call our Tech Support as well. Their direct number is on your invoice.
Very straight-to-it review. I JUST picked this player up in 2024. Was debating between this and the similarly equipped Panasonic. Chose the Sony primarily based on customer feedback and reviews like this
How would you say these compare to the similarly priced Virtus speakers from Morel? I like a good midrange in my speakers but I also want overall good SQL from my components and I noticed the Morrells handle about double the RMS. Would you say that these are overall better speakers for an SQL build or the Morels?
Both do offer top notch sound quality. The Focals offer more pronounced highs and the Morels are warmer on top. What do you tend to like better there? What will you be using for power?
I just bought another full system.. minus speakers but i got a sub and amp lol. But thanks for this video. I love shopping there and that extra reverse power wire had me wondering
Maybe you can help, i was given a camera with no instructions. It has three wires. Black, for ground im assuming. But along with red it also has a purple wire
Yesterday I did this job and I guess I needed to pay closer attention to the video because with my 2015 Subaru Outback Premium the headliner seemed to be glued to the rooftop too much to route this way. I opted to follow forward along the base of the drivers side door frames.... was okay but super tight.

Sounds like you need to double check your radio's camera settings. If you got the camera or radio here, you can call our Tech Support. Their number is on your invoice.

Hi Anirudh, 45x4 is likely the peak power rating for a JVC model. You would want to match the RMS power rating. What model is your radio? Would you like help choosing speakers to match it for a specific vehicle?
Nice choice! It is rated at 16 watts RMS/45 peak x 4 channels. You would match the new speakers to the RMS rating. Would you like help choosing speakers to match it for a specific vehicle?
The Infinity Reference line offers a similar sound signature. Kappas do have an even beefier build so they can handle more power and offer a bit more detail as well.
Each of the surround speakers feature a keyhole slot to mount the speakers flat against a wall (screws sold separately). They also have a M5 threaded insert for using with optional articulating wall-mount brackets. Compatible articulating brackets can be found in the Accessories section of our web page for the surround speakers
Hi Joe, you will want to measure for fit. The Alpine R2-DB8V-TRK dimensions are: 51" W (max)/40" W (min) x 8.63" H x 14" D The Alpine S-DB8V-TRK are at 51" W (max)/40" W (min) x 8.63" H x 14" D What types of music do you listen to most often? Are you planning to use aftermarket full range speakers with an aftermarket amp for power too?
The Flip 5's use the JBL Portable App. The other speakers must also use this app to pair that many together. What are the models of the other speakers you have?
Hola!
@@crutchfield I'm going to install an Alpine subwoofer, specifically the SWT-12S4 12" coupled with an Alpine BBX-T600 amplifier. This is the first step, after that come the speakers which are Hertz DSK 165.3. They come with the separate tweeters and their crossovers. Before I install them, I'm going to do some soundproofing on my car, which is gonna be tough. Can't wait to start the process this weekend, I'll be rewinding a lot of this video here haha
So much good info... thank you. At 5:40 you explain the Jensen/Boss difference, and that there is a dedicated camera power wire coming out of the back of the BOSS (I have the BE920WCPA), which you suggest connecting to the convenience wire to send power back to the camera. You then say that with the Jensen you must still connect the purple trigger wire, however you don't mention whether or not this needs to be done with the BOSS. Does it?
The purple/white wire on the BE920WCPA's harness must be connected to the vehicle's reverse gear circuit. What brand and model camera are you planning to install?
@@crutchfield I am installing a VOXX ACA801... (I connected the trigger wire but when I switched my vehicle to reverse the BOSS went into camera mode and WANTED to work, telling me that the reverse gear circuit was doing its thing, but the camera itself wasn't getting power - even though it should have been as my reverse/backup light circuit was energized). I believe the my issue is a bad 'tap' with the tap connector I used to tap into the reverse light circuit at the back of the truck. After watching your video I've decided to remove the tap and pull power from the dedicated accessory 12V+ at the back of the BOSS, and send it back to the camera via the convenience wire. Thank you for responding!
This receiver does not support Android Auto. Pandora and Spotify apps can be controlled through the radio when a compatible Android phone is connected to it via Bluetooth. Also, there is a remote control app called Kenwood Remote S that allows some controls like selecting source input, as well as command basic playback controls such as Play/Pause or Previous/Next Track from the touchscreen of your compatible Android.
I just have a question: My kit has basically the same cable as show, but BOTH sides have a ground cable, do I need to bolt both sides or will just one do?
Grounding is typically done within a couple feet of the device using the power unless you are working on a vehicle like a boat where there is no metal frame for grounding to
I have 2021 jeep Gladiator i already installed Kicker 47 Key2004 4ch speakers 🔊 sound great 👍🏼 but i need Bass. I want to install a bass box should i install this one key2005 also is that a good idea is it possible to use both? Key2004 4ch & key2005 2ch 😅 jeep has Start stop 🛑 2021 Jeep Gladiator
The Kicker Key amps are fully compatible with newer vehicles using start-stop systems! There should be no issue installing a second one into your Gladiator
This is in a cardistry playlist, but I love it. Amazing video, but I do have a. Deck of cards in front of me, and not a tv, so I can’t use this tutorial:(
