Hi - Just to let you and other youtubers know: I bought the drill guide based on your enthousiastic review, but I must say my piece is an utter disappointment. It rattles when rotating under no load, and the shaft mechanism allows for a good millimeter in both N/S and E/W directions. What a frustrating discovery! I'm never going to buy anything from Banggood again.
Heel erg goed en leerrijk om te zien dat je met een beetje puzzelen je geen gigantische werkplaats nodig hebt om grotere projecten te maken wil zelf in de toekomst een bedrijf oprichten voor interieur meubels op maat en dus is een heel leerrijke video in hoe ik mijn toekomstige atelier zal inrichting!!!!
Hoi Dennis, bedankt voor deze instructie. Helpt erg veel. Ik heb nu mijn werkbank klaar en wil nu een t-track erin frezen. IK heb een frees van 30 mm gekocht maar zit het steeds uit te stellen omdat ik bang ben dat ik het mooie nieuwe oppervlak van mijn werkbank onherstelbaar beschadig. Ik ga wel een proef doen natuurlijk en hoop dat het lukt. Wat zou de snelheid van de frees moeten zijn: het is er een met een 8 mm schacht.
Hoi Pierre, Ik snap je helemaal. Het is een klote moment om fouten te maken. Het enige wat ik kan zeggen, doe het rustig aan. Het is goed om een proefje te draaien. Met een 8mm zou ik zo rond de 2/3 van de speed gaan van de frees. Ik doe dit normaal gesproken op gevoel. Hoe groter de freesbit, hoe langzamer de snelheid. Succes!
Dennis. After following you down the Harvey line of products, I didn't realize I was doing it again when I left visited the Felder booth at International Woodworking Federation show last month. Felder is delivering my new AD9-41 and FAT300 next Wednesday, but the K945S is going to be December. Would you sell a layout of your new shop? My new shop is 30'x50' (914cm x 1524cm), but I'm trying to fit the woodworking portion into an area 30' x approximately 16' (914x487cm). My saw will be coming with the scoring blade, and dado blades. Like you, I'm a solo, hobby woodworker. Being able to fully support and clamp large or small workpieces to the saw and operate it from a SAFE side or distance is my primary reason for the getting the maximum length slider and crosscut table. Hi Clint, Wow, what a great choice of machines. I am happy to read I am not the only one going crazy on equipment :-) I think you will love it. In next episode I will show the AD941 and I can not say other then, I fel in love with this machine. There is no reason to justify the costs, as a hobbyist, but how it is constructed is just state of the art. So, I think just like me, you will enjoy it every time you will use it. About the layout of my workshop. If you give me a floorplan of your (New) workshop and how to plan your machines and workbenches, your goals, I am willing to look at it and perhaps I can make some suggestions. Hey dennis, ben je tevreden van die plastic mft plugs van ujk? Geven deze geen problemen doordat het logo niet vlak is en krijg je ze eenvoudig terug uit je tafel? Of zou je toch eerder de rvs plugs aanraden?
Als je ze met een blokje hout in de tafel duw, krijg je ze zonder hulpmiddel er wel uit. Doe je het met je vinger, dan duw je ze net te ver naar binnen om ze met je nagel eruit te krijgen, dan heb je een kleine schroevendraaier nodig. Bij de RVS pluggen heb je natuurlijk altijd een hulpmiddel (magneet) nodig. Als geld geen rol speel zou ik altijd voor de RVS pluggen gaan want die zijn een stuk hoogwaardiger. Maar de plastick dopjes zijn wel een heel mooi alternatief.

Love the shop definitely on of the best “hobbyist wood shops” I have seen. Can’t wait until part 2. Can you link imperial Chinese tools as well as the metric tools? There are a few I would like to pick up in the states?
I love the method of building your work surfaces with Valchromat black MDF over birch plywood. I have searched all over the easter United States since being introduced to your videos and found only once source to purchase that material here. It is sold by an importer at the shipyards in Brooklyn New York, but the cost is outrageous. at over $200 US per 19mm sheet, I can see working with the material in a limited capacity. But the shipping would add more than a $1,000 US for as few as three sheets. I'm gonna have to make a trip to New York with the truck in the near future...
Mike (and Dennis), I also really like the way this tinted MDF looks. When building my daughter a play kitchen, island, sink and playhouse, I found that I could color MDF well with a gel stain. I chose black which ended up nice for those projects. However, when I do the work in my workshop, I am going to use a charcoal gray if available or will see if Home Depot can tint the gel stain for me. Try it, Mike, you'll like it. And the gel stain protects the MDF as well.
I enjoy these videos. Keep them coming along with your new designs. I received my coping sled today and have it put together and ready to use. Excellent quality. Question: I have 2 15mm black nylon washers with a split. Where do they go / used for?
I sometimes use the sliding cabinet saw in work and just love how much more convenient it is for breaking down full sheets. At home I have to use my track saw, while not difficult it just adds an extra barrier when mid project. Love the workshop, super clean and stylized.
Great workshop Dennis. Don't we all wish we had the same space and budget to build ourselves a similar workshop. Mine is a double garage and where I work its 12m by 8m. So only slight bigger than yours but with 3 people in

Thanks for doing a video about these 2 sharpening jigs. Although I usually sharpen free hand, I like to use a jig to fix a bevel. I have been looking at both of these jigs, and you really helped me make a decision. I would love for you to ask your friend who helped you review these tools for his opinion on the steel holdfast he had on his workbench. I want to get them, but I would love an opinion first thanks.😊

je hebt een pracht van een werkplaats met droom gereedschap, maar voor mensen met een normaal inkomen is het natuurlijk niet haalbaar. en vooral zo'n bouwpakket, ja dat is perfect maar ver uit bereik van de grootste gross mensen. Uiteraard gun ik het je allemaal van harte. en waarom ook niet , als je het kan waarom zou je het niet doen. en hint je kan de harvey zaag mijn kant op sturen of ik kom zelfs naar Nederland om het op te halen lol. Ik heb een rustieke werkplaats onder mijn huis en spaar al jaren voor een cabinetzaag of het er ooit komt we gaan het meemaken lol. het kost hier zo'n 40 000 kr en ik ben geen persoon die naar de bank gaat om te lenen wat ik heb is van mij zonder schuld erop.ik bouw alles van wat anderen weggooien want goud is goedkoper dan hout hier hoog in de bergen van Noorwegen. ik zag dat je ook een prachtige tuin hebt. dat mis ik nog wel eens van Nederland alles is vlak en voor alles is een oplossing te koop, hier... moet je het zelf bedenken, maar aan de andere kant ik heb meren, bergen, rieviertjes en watervallen in mijn tuin, dat is niet iets wat je in Nederland zult vinden. al is jou tuin ook niet mis en mooi gecultiveerd, die van mij is ruig en rustiek en waarschijnlijk iets groter als die van jou. maar ik huur het dus echt van mij is het niet lol maar ik heb het geluk om er te mogen wonen en gebruiken. maar wie heeft 9000 hectare als tuin midden in een van de mooiste natuurparken van Noorwegen. Valdres is geheel uniek harde en zeer lange harse winters 4 mtr sneeuw gemiddeld maar voor een jager zoals ik een paradijs. de deur is altijd los, dus mocht je in de buurt zijn drop in voor koffie en ik hoor graag hoe jij dit allemaal voormekaar hebt gekregen. nogmaals een droom werkplaats wow!

Hoi Bushman, Dank voor je reactie. Ik realiseer me dat ik bevoorrecht ben. Wat de werkplaats betreft is het voor mij nu makkelijker om dit soort machines te kopen omdat merken me in meer of mindere mate tegemoet komen. Maar zonder mijn kanaal had ik bijvoorbeeld nooit deze vandiktebank gekocht. Dat zou gewoon te duur zijn. Nu denk ik, mocht ik er ooit mee stoppen, dan brengt die zeker op wat ik er voor betaald heb, en als ik hem over 15 jaar nog gebruik, dan is het een goede investering geweest. Ik benijd jouw omschrijving van je omgeving. Het lijkt me prachtig. Noorwegen staat nog steeds op mijn wishlist. Trek nu regelmatig naar Oostenrijk om te mountainbiken en wandelen. Weet je, het is allemaal anders, maar ook allemaal mooi op hun eigen wijze. Ik woon praktisch in het bos. Achteraf, weg van de drukte en dat is waar ik van hou. Al het beste, en als ik in de buurt ben, kom ik die koffie graag nuttigen. Groet, Dennis

I also like the place you choose for your drill press. Integrating it into your bench top, have you ever felt that it is in your way when using the mitre saw or in your work on the bench?
