I use the wish list. It's free. Go through the shopping list and put what you want onto your wish list. Daz has frequent sales, and prices change almost daily. I have purchased $40.00 items for $10.00 or less.
When I followed the same step -- go to render settings, change from "dome and scene" to "scene only" -- I did not get the same result. Here, the character goes dark and becomes just a silhouette in the video. In my DAZ studio, that did not happen. The light remained totally unchanged.
You probably have light emitting from whatever set you're using? Or somewhere else in your setup? That's my guess. Changing to "scene only" means that the only light DAZ recognizes is the light coming from parts of the scene (not the default sky dome, or any sky HDRI textures you may have loaded). If your light is unchanged in "Scene Only", then you probably have additional light sources that are built into whatever set you're using, lighting the scene. Good luck!
Also -- the Preview Lights typically come on by default when DAZ starts. You can turn them off under the Window menu in DAZ, or by hitting Ctrl+L inside DAZ. You may also want to check that your Auto-Headlamp is turned off in DAZ. This is a light that defaults to your camera's position, and it's pretty much useless, except for screwing up scene lighting. You'll want to toggle it off in DAZ and leave it off. Cheers!
This was helpful in explaining what the dials on the wind node mean. I'm currently trying to create a scene with somebody doing a flying leap at somebody using the Primavera hair on the leaper, trying to get the wind-blown affect on the hair. Oddly I'm getting a random blow to the right or left each time I simulate.

Making your characters look real is one of the dumbest things you can do. This is 3D art crap if you want real just take real pictures why even bother with 3D crap at all. Too many people want to make things look as real as possible taking away from the very nature of what it is you are doing. Buy a camera and take pictures of hot chicks. Most girls will let you photograph them at no cost. Stop typing to make 3D porn we all know what you're doing.
I didn't know that the smoothing modifier has a built-in collision detection. I always export my clothing to Blender, do the necessary alterations there with sculpting, import it back and either create a morph or update the base geometry. This saves so much time and effort. Thanks.
Hello Could you please help me? I bought an animation bundle but when applied it only happens in one place with character and if I try dragging them to where I want it does not work also character legs are overlapped and if try to change them and hit play in animate it goes back to being the way it was. Please help me 😢
Thank you very much for sharing this. I'm an old dog (been using DAZ since 2010) but I did not know how to mirror a pose. I had used symmetry before but not like this. Taught this old dog a new trick for sure and I am most grateful!!
I don't know why but in my case the light doesn't work somehow. I simply spawn a g8m character and a ghost light and position the ghost light to face the character, in render setting environment mode, I choose scene only, bcz I just want to test lights, not HDRI or sunlight, then hit iray preview, no lights at all, the character is pitch black. Tried to change luminance units and other settings under surface tab, nothing really helps, still pitch black. Any solution would be appreciated.
Update: set cutout opacity under surface tab to 0.1, the scene finally light up, but the arrow show up as well, click ghost setup would hide arrow but makes scene pitch black and revert cutout opacity to 0 as well. Still do not know the mechanism behind this product.
So we don't have to worry about the interactive license if we are just trying to create something like environments for RU-vid videos, even if eventually we get monetized that way like with ads or whatnot?
It's really a hassle to find the right combination to make a symmetry of the left arm to the right with the fingers and the rotation, isn't there a plugin to simplify that? I tried some but none worked properly.
