Joyful old reds. Good to see, and good to see that my pre season projection that we had the squad potential to start with 9 games unbeaten is rolling on. Though I did caveat that the squad needed hold together, which it is, and I now feel that we have real possibilities. What has pleased me as someone who has always said (even through the Cooper years), that you need to seal the center of midfield and defense, is that we've done exactly that. 2 goals conceded, and scoring in every game is how Leicester won it all, and both of those games the goals conceded came from errors, but we got away with a couple at Anfield, but that's what you need. It was a fine performance though and through, and like Ant I'm old enough have watched the Clough side, so this was a magnificent result. If we can keep our key players fit, and convert better when we dominate, then we might even make my best outcome prediction of 5th, and if we get a striker to support Wood/Awoniyi then what? Consider then that but for those 2 errors that cost us 4 points we'd be 2nd on goal difference. As for the names Wolfie wants, The Brazilian Blocker, and the Serbian Stopper...The Forest alps, Mount Murillo and Mount Milenkovic, you got to go around them and there's getting over them. Barring injury and suspension these partnerships can only get stronger. I for one am loving it. And loving the joy among the FFTV squad too. May it remain that way. Be well everyone.
There's a new anvant garde tactic called defending if we keep a mint defence that will turn defeats into draws and draws to wins then this is going places. Signature Nuno with a strong defence and fast wing play. As you say the positional discipline is brilliant to see, thanks Nuno
A really excellent and intriguing in-depth analysis of the match. Thanks for that Wolfie. That was extremely interesting and fascinating, to say the least! 👍❤️
I don't know where we will end up this season. I'm hoping for a 10th place finish, originally it were 13th. I know we had a couple of good results last season and under Cooper. But this is the first big result, where I've actually thought we look like we are settled in his division and don't look out our depth and struggling along for results. I know we all are on a high but it's just great to have hope that we can compete at this level again consistently like we used to in the 80's and 90's.
Jesus. If by parking the bus the entire game and hoofing it over the top all day as schooling........then yes. You barely had 30% possession. Liverpool dominant in EVERY department. Schooled my ass.
Nobody schooled anyone, but Nuno's tactics were spot on. Obviously a top team like Liverpool in their back yard will take the possession and most of the stats. Nuno's tactics frustrated Liverpool, stats mean nothing if you can't score. The 3pts is all that matters and we got it spot on.
The biggest department you want to be dominant in is that statistic you normally find at the top, called goals. I just doubled checked and can confirm that Liverpool were not dominant in this department, therefore your statement is incorrect
Forest had a game plan and executed it perfectly! You frustrated the life out of us for an hour packed the midfield so we couldn’t go narrow and then brought pace off the bench and attacked with purpose! and our full back were fucking awful as was most of our side😄! But FairPlay to you, I wasn’t expecting that result but it was fully deserved.
After losing our unbeaten home record against Liverpool last season with that dodgy last minute reffing decision, it is brilliant to win at Anfield and break our hoodoo against them.
Morning lads, Wolfie 👍this win is for me on a par with the Wembley prem promotion game. I saw something in Nuno that i have never seen before, passion, he is passionate and that is nice to see as all i’ve seen up until the goal on saturday is business Nuno, he now has my total respect. Great tactics by Nuno and his staff and the press was bang on, Yates humiliated MacAllister so much Slot took him off😳we were very very lucky on two occassions but the way we played we deserved it 100%. This should give the players total belief in themselves and Nuno COYR
When i saw the starting line-up, i have to say i thought forest would be penned in their own half without an outlet of pace on the wings. Leading to Liverpool eventually finding an opening and scoring. But credit where credits due , the forest players defended the spaces like demons and were very disciplined. So u could see why he left out the wingers( who u probably can't rely on as much as Anderson and Dominguez to be as disciplined. To Bring the wingers on second half showed us that Nuno ain't too negative and defensive, as that worked perfectly as an attacking option later on in the game. Only change i would have made , would have been to start with Owoniy,i as he is generally more mobile and would potentially occupy the liverpool defence better. Then take him off when he were gassed around 60 mins. A great team , organised and 100% committed to the plan performance. Well done lads from a still happy and shocked forest fan.😁👍
Brilliant analysis again Wolf. May I add that Morgan Gibbs White layoff was top class and he had the energy to get up and support cho for the decoy run. That's why he's in the team it doesn't count as a assist but great goal involvement. Coyr
Liked the fact Nuno at 0-0 put on attacking players looking for the win, that impressed me. Let's not forget though Nuno's selections and subs are usually dire.
Yeh, was like looking at a different manager. Selection bold but right then subs made at the right time to win the game. Was a great performance from the manager and Id love to see more of this. Imo he lost us 2 points in the wolves game after such good prep in league Cup against Newcastle so good redemption here.
Uncle Nuno been in this game longer than Slot and it showed. Morato can play as a 6 sorry to be spamming all the FFTV chats with my agenda on this option until Super Sangare returns. Obviously Dominguez and Anderson are key with JWP for that to work COYR!
Nuno set up the starting 11 perfectly and asked 3 to run themselves into the ground knowing he had pace to bring on. Dominguez we know presses hard, Anderson has an engine that allows him to run and run. Aina and Moreno took care of Diaz and Salah, whilst supporting any counter attack particularly second half. But the low block line being used by pundits is lazy, although most didn’t watch the whole match. Slot was out thought, his prematch talk was about how they prepared for our wingers, commenting he did not know what to expect. However, it was clear when the wingers came on they didn’t remember what they prepared for!
MORATO! as a 6 tell me I'm wrong and I knew I would love the GOR chat after beating Liverpool at Anfield. Needed Lemmy for a bit more class and calming effect 😂 COYR! Can't say my MOTM or favourite player as I still have a Scarpa yellow jersey 😢 and don't want to jinx it again next srason jersey has no gambling company on front for me and no Forest player name on the back just to be sure.
I could see Dominguez, Morato and Yates covering the number 6 role till Sangare returns I know on first thought they seem like odd choices but they all tick the box of work rate
I don't hate anyone most scouse are ok true scouse know their football but man united are glory hunters but looks like they will be hunting for a long time coyr
I feel like we really need to settle down as a fanbase. I know I’m a negative git but we’ve had a meh start in my opinion. We beat Liverpool at Anfield, but what else. Blew a 1-0 lead against Bournemouth, struggled in the second half against a 20th place fodder Southampton and blew another 1-0 lead to wolves. If we can get another 6 from the next 2 I will eat my words, but I think the calls for anything above 10th is unfounded.
Alongside that, I feel like our performances have been lacking and Nuno’s subs still wack. It’s the cooper problem all over again. His substitutions are negative, he couldn’t hold a 1 goal lead and he’d beat the big teams but fail to break down the smaller ones around us.
@@OhCityGround I get what you're saying, so I won't contradict any of it, but do you feel that we are progressing? I feel that we are. We play better football than we have for a long time and we are getting better. The defence is awesome. We just need to have the midfield and attack fully on fire.
Cmon now mate we've just beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield I get that we should get our hopes up but I highly doubt anyone thinks we're getting Europe but the potential we have for getting even a 10th place finish is exciting. Stop being so negative and be happy that we're undefeated as of no. Enjoy life abit more mate cmon😂
@@OhCityGroundalso his subs were positive this game he put elanga on Hudson odoi on and Jota Silva when the pace was needed if we made more attacking subs we would have been cut apart so going to a back 3 was extremely wise especially at the time we did it
