This was great. The result was amazing! I really loved seeing all the steps. But I really wish you have included the skin, eyes, and CC4 end tweaking and customization. How did you do the skin, btw?
Hi there, thanks and sorry about not including that. The skin is deceptively simple. If you were to see the texture, it's mostly a flat color with some minor color detail. I'm recording another character, which is a different style, but it may reveal more of my workflow. Thanks!
I am sure most likely it is a preference but was wondering if there was any real reason to size everything in Blender and not Character creator. Was just curious and if there was reasons for your choices. Not saying it is wrong just was wondering the why. Thanks
I will tell you why I was so excited to see that Proportion Edit exists in Blender: Proportional Editing! (In this case, child bones change with the parent.) I don't think that is possible in CC4...is it? Plus, I find Blender's UI easier and faster to work with, but that's subjective.
Hi there, yes Character Creator has a Proportion Editor, but as mentioned, but Blender's has certain advantages as it relates to child bones. Also, you can refine results without leaving the software using the Sculpt brushes. Having the Sculpting Tools and Proportion Editor in one package is a great advantage for doing advanced custom characters.
If you could add cloth dynamics to the robe, it would be PERFECT! but this character could be in a Blizzard game that's for sure, amazing again my friend!
Yeah, Dynamesh would destroy the mesh and the data needed for this process. If you were looking to take a Dynamesh sculpt into Character Creator, I'd recommend checking out Headshot 2 (where you can transfer details to a CC4 mesh), the Zwrap add-on for Zbrush (similar concept) or AccuRig (where you can import a non-standard character and rig auto-rig it). Good luck!
Please make baby babies for your store so that people can buy. Otherwise, there is only one beautiful model in the store. baby and she has a problem with her eyelashes when you enlarge her head.
hi, please tell me if there is any way to remove eyelashes from a character in CC4. I want to remove them because when closed they somehow bend and look wrong. and she has a problem with her eyelashes when you enlarge her head.
Hi there, there is no way to remove the eyelashes. Generally you need to use the Facial Profile Editor to correct the eyelashes during the eyes closed expression. Alternatively you can find the material for the eyelashes on your character and dial down the opacity so that they are invisible. I hope that helps!
Yes, Blender is a great alternative to Zbrush, especially with the free Blender CC / IC Pipeline addon. I am planning to make a Blender video soon. Stay tuned!
Hi there, you mean switching to wireframe / polygroup overlay? That should be Shift + F. This is useful for seeing how the mesh is being deformed and where the details are being placed, especially muscles.
Those first 25 seconds were amazing! I had basically given up on CC tools for Blender. Definitely time to go back and check it out! Thanks! (If you ever would show a creation process with these tools, d'be much appreciated.)
I've been loving this workflow, gives independent artists and smaller studios the ability to do character work that matches the quality of top studios in a fraction of the time and money
Ir Russia we have an anecdote about this: An American company bought an airplane from the Soviet Union. This plane was neatly packed in boxes and sended, just remained to assemble it. When the plane was assembled in the USA, it turned out to be a steam locomotive. Everyone was very surprised, disassembled the structure, reassembled it and again it turned out to be a steam locomotive. The Americans have summoned a representative from the Soviet Union. He came and assembled the plane for them. The Americans ask: - How did you do that? - Here it is written in the end of instruction: "...After assembly, process with a steel file!"
Amazing work you have done, I am so far away. Would you like to create for me 4 (later more) characters that will work for me in iclone 8? I already made 1 and a half bet they need to be fixed. I am not good at creating. I pay of course,
thank you very much for your work! this is absolutely amazing. trying to follow your video, and i apologize for a dumb question, but how on earth did you move those eyes towards each other at 12:48 ???) i've been trying to figure it out for 3 days now, can't sleep or eat. please help)
Hi there, you need to turn on symmetry in Zbrush, then use the 3D gizmo symmetrically. Unfortunately I can’t post images on RU-vid to guide you further. If symmetry doesn’t work, click one of the Gizmo functions to center the gizmo location before moving it.
It didn’t have physics, but it could. If your physics item falls to the floor, you need to anchor it with a physicals weight map. Remember, black disables physics, white enables it. The roots should be black on the weight map to anchor the item.
tell me truth all are paid users idont no i paid for both but reality after that i have to purchase more for single movement ( zbrush plug in ,human anatomy, popcorn, facelive, face ware, even fucking hair , etc all without including this softwares just like naked man am going to retun this
Hi there, the base software allows for most everything in this video. You don't need Zbrush, Blender is a fine sculpting option. As for extra content and plugins -- those are only needed as required. If you need extra hair for a project, then you'd purchase hair or create it yourself. The process of creating 3D content is pretty time-intensive, and although free would be great, it's not realistic in most cases. Purchasing content is a short-cut, so that you don't have to spend dozens of hours creating it yourself. Popcorn FX, for example, is for particle effects (in iClone). You don't really need that, unless you need particle effects.
Thank you so much for this Video ! It was just what i searched for ! I am surprized how much to make the body thin and its still working. I am very impressed from your Work ! In the End of the Video you make the same mistake most Artist make: Instead to finish the first Figure and Save it, you changed the Figure completele to a second one. You would have be able to can make 2 Figures out of this. Most Artist, if they draw a Picture for example, instead to finish the Picture, they change the Picture 10 times and loose 9 Pictures by changing 10 times. Its bether to finish a Artwork also if we dont like it and then make the next. We can make progress by every next new Artwork.
Wow, this was an amazing workflow tutorial. Do you think this all could be done in just 3DC without ZBrush? I know it's a big ask, but if it's possible would you mind showing us a 3D Coat workflow only on a much, much, much more simple character, I'm more curious about the workflow and how to do the sculpting in 3DC and not Zbrush. Thank you!
Hi there! Thanks for the kind words. I'd have to do some more experimenting to see how 3DC exports FBX's and OBJ's. Sometimes software reorganizes the vertex order during the export, and in the past I've found that 3DC OBJ's (for the main character) don't reimport well. It's a good question and topic that I'd like to visit.
