Thank you for this comparison, your video is 1 out of 2 videos on all of youtube demonstrating the Bass Clone with guitar. Just a note though, the MXR analog chorus is a notorious tone sucker so it might be affecting the pedals after it.
i see comments on pedal comparisons all the time saying “now THIS is how you do it. you sir, have earned a subscriber!” (to a channel that barely uploads), but i am not sure why in the several years since this upload that other pedal comparisons have not replicated this exact video. this is probably the most useful and helpful pedal comparison video i have watched, totally eliminates the bias while also explaining details of the sound along the way. excellent stuff.
You get a sub for showing the noise of the pedal when on but with no sound input. Can't tell you how important that is for me but never gets featured in a review.
After testing the Snouse, Black Box 2, distortion pedal, it’s little wonder lots of players really love it. In fact, there is a 12 to 14 month waiting list. But the wait is well worth it. Joshua Aragon, (a.k.a. “Mr Snouse”) has designed what is arguably the best hand-made Blues Breaker distortion pedal around. It captures Clapton’s “Beano” sound based on the JTM 45 amp dialed to ‘break up’ to produce that organic guitar sound that went on to become one of rock’s legendary tones. The “basic model” comes with Gain, Preamp, Presence, Tone and Volume knobs that turn smooth and sure. No flimsy, mass-produced foreign import quality about this pedal. On the contrary, it politely but firmly says, “Hand-made in America.” If you’re looking for a solid sound with beautiful mids and plenty of headroom, look no further than this pedal which has garnered well deserved accolades the world over.
PB I know you’re a family man and as a father of 2 myself I know how busy life gets. I sure hope you’ll return sometime even if it’s just a couple videos a year. You’re the most unbiased reviewer on all of RU-vid and appreciate your approach very much. Cheers, sir.
I`ve spent many hours watching videos about vibrato pedal comparisons. This one is the best! No talking, two settings per pedal, right choice and length of the sample, nice background and a few words per pedal written on the side. Just perfect!
Pedal shootout done right. Make the pedals front and center in the shot, use a loop that brings out their best characteristics, use snippits of on-screen text to add useful context. I like how the shot is framed by junk food wrappers. Nice touch.
I bought Dispatch master for my didgeridoo setup, with it magic happens, but also some tricky points when mix engaged more for my sound, but still it sounds amazingly crystal clear : )
