Not that I am aware of. The amount of FO depends on the size of the vessel and how strong you want to make the candle or perfume oil. However because the vial is small usually 10ml it’s best to use a few drops since FO are chemicals and people can become allergic to too much essential oils.
My wooden wicks are burning very high even though they are cut short, that's the only issue I have with my testers. Can you give me some ❤suggestions to assist me with this problem? Thank You.
Thank you so much! ❤ I am need to candle creations and wanted to curate my own scent & your video specifically was very helpful and a great research resource!!
You can always create an Instagram and Facebook business account and sell your products through those two platforms. You can search Google for free website builders.
You should use fragrance oil that is safe for skin application. I suggest using essential oils since a small amount goes a long way. Essential oils are made out of the plant itself as opposed to fragrance oil which is primarily made through chemicals. Essential oils are more expensive since than fragrance oils but it’s well worth it. Hope that information helps. Good luck
I just watched the video. And so sorry to have mislead you into thinking it was a tangible surprise. What I should’ve clarified is that the one I thought would’ve been best was not the one I thought. Since I technically cannot edit already uploaded videos that information was not explained. Thank you for watching.
New subbie!! I am about to launch in March my luxury candle business! I am wearing ALL the hats girl lol so it's a lot. And the marketing is a whole other world. I am a hands on person, i can make the quality product but Marketing is stressful lol Glad i found this, still researching about it
Good luck I’m the same way too. It’s always best to be hands on at the beginning to get a feel of your own business of what works and doesn’t work and what to do to shift in the right direction
Some people don’t want to use paraffin and want to be able to have an all organic or all natural candle line. Some people are allergic to paraffin wax or want to be environmentally conscious.
Hello. I hope u can help. I’m using a 9oz stating sided jar. I’m having a hard time testing coco apricot. I follow all the instructions but no HT. I tested CD and ECO wicks. Can u suggest a wick and wi k size I can try plz. I’m about to give up.
Hola, I will need more information. What kind of jar is a stating jar. Is it a straight sided jar? Where did you purchase your jar from? Make sure that it is a 9oz jar. I like CDN or HTP wicks because they work best for me. Have you tried wooden wicks? Is it the wicks that you’re having an issue with or the jars or the hot throw? Does the wick burn correctly with the jar? Are you getting a good burn pool, is the wick burning properly (no high flames or smoke)? Have you tested this wick with this jar and the combination you are using works? What size wick are you using for both CD and ECO wicks? All of these details must be working adequately before hot throw becomes a priority. Once you know that the wick and wax and jar all work together perfectly then you can focus on hot throw. You just can’t test for all those variables at the same time because you will get overwhelmed and you’ll over look or skip something important. After you’ve established the correct jar wick and wax ratio then hot throw is important. Also Candle Science has a good wick:wax:jar combination assistant guide you can try as well. Notice: the hot throw for a jar must be tested in a small area since your jar is 9oz. You can’t compare your hot throw to any other candles because you don’t know exactly what kind of wax they are using. Also before you burn test your candle for hot throw you must let your candle cure for 3-5 days or at least a week before burning them for scent throw. For me the longer I let my candles sit the better the hot throw. Don’t get discouraged. Candle making is a science and it requires a lot of trial and error before you get the formula right. Make sure that you’re taking notes as well.
Oh and one more thing, make sure that you’re not using too much scent and are using the correct amount of fragrance oil. Bramble Berry for example has a fragrance oil calculator you can use. Using too much fragrance can also negatively affect your wick causing a lot of soot, smoke, uneven burn pool, and bad scent altogether. Go back to the drawing board if you haven’t established testing for the right wick for the jar that you have and the wax that you use.
Hola, If you’re creating a line with natural fragrances then use Essential Oils instead. It’s made safer for skin without too much added chemicals. Just make sure to find a reputable company to purchase from. I use Nature’s Garden or Bulk Apothecary
Amazing. I woke up this am wondering if I will stop with the coco soy and slide to apricot, cut to sink holes, and you just answered my question. God Bless and Happy New Year beautiful!
Thank you for the vid it helped me a lot. Am starting my candle bussiness and I was hesitated with opening an llc right away. However I have a question about the bussiness acct! So can I open a bussiness bank acct to get direct deposits on my sales without my legal first and last name? Can I do it if I will provide fictionist name for my bussiness and address that’s not my personal name or address?
To open a any bank account you will need to provide your legal first and last name and social or any legal documentation to verify your identity. This is done so that no one can claim to be someone else and steal your money or steal your identity. I used my business name as well on the account as an authorized user but the business is the primary account holder. Depending on the bank you choose to use they’ll ask for your business information such as a business tax ID number which you can get for free for your business name. To get your business bank account and then your personal information or any other authorized user for the account. So if you use a fake name on the account how would you get money out if you were to walk into the bank to retrieve your money without an ID with that fake name. Hope this information helps
You can checkout my favorite fragrance oil vendors in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MVr1tZ6WfgI.html But my favorite go to is Aromatic Fragrance International and Bulk Apothecary
Coco apricot already has food grade paraffin in it depending from which supplier you obtain it from. Coco apricot already has a good hot throw. There’s a coconut paraffin wax already in the market and you don’t have to do any mixing. Candle Science has that blend already IGI 6046.
Yes you can. You can use just about any oil that is safe for the skin. Just make sure that you test it before you sell it. Also make sure you sure you tell your customers that you’re using almond oil just in case there’s an allergic reaction to it. The oil I used is fractionated coconut oil made specifically for the skin, so make sure you use oils that are safe for topical applications.
Hello, so don't you need an LLC in order to build a website? So you can sell candles 🕯️ just like at markets or in a sense "door to door" without being an actual LLC?
Yes, you don’t need a LLC to build a website. A LLC is not a requirement to have in order to get a website or sell candles. What you do need for a website is a domain where you buy your business website address from either Go Daddy, HostGator, Google, Bluehost, Wordpress, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, or any other website domain selling platform. This ensures that no one can take your website domain with your business name. This is a yearly cost which can range from $12-100+ depending on the level of service and website protection you need/want. You can sell candles as being a sole proprietorship. However, either being a sole proprietor or a LLC depends on your state. It also depends on your personal business journey. For a person starting out without a lot of capital to backup their business and the business isn’t too much of a risk then starting out with a sole proprietorship is a safe route as the business and the owner get better at their craft and make money and grow then getting a LLC will be the next logical step in order to separate your business from your personal assets. This is important because in case you get sued, then your personal belongings (i.e. your home or money) are not included in the lawsuit to pay whatever entity is suing you or your business. Hope that helps.
@@SandraJCTaylor thank you so much for responding so quickly 🙏🏾 your explanation and detail helped so much ☺️ I plan on going to get a DBA and starting my business as a sole proprietor first. You have helped me so much 🙂 I am so excited 😆 to get started on my candle business eventually. I don't think I'm ready for a website.. I think I would need to just start selling at markets, and maybe try to have an Etsy shop.. Once I know that my candles are selling, then I would definitely want to get a website. Seems like a lot of markets do require you to have a EIN number and a website in order to have a booth at their Market. I plan on getting an EIN I believe it's free and my state. I think I will be able to try to secure a loan with a DBA in an EIN number. I read somewhere that it's easier to get a business loan though with an LLC.. Thank you so much, I'm going to subscribe to your channel ☮️🙏🏾😁💙
@@ariellemonet9515 before you get a loan for your business start off with Etsy you can get a website for $10 a month with them and it’s minimal upkeep as opposed to a Shopify website. I’m not sure why you need a loan yet but start off small and then work your way up. You don’t want to be stuck with a business loan and then paying off a loan with your profits instead of reinvesting that profit into your business. You’ll always be in a loan-pay-borrow need more money for inventory another loan-pay-borrow cycle. Don’t start off with too much inventory so your overhead won’t be too expensive to upkeep. Try to see if you can get preorders and from there buy your inventory. EIN’s are free most suppliers will give you a tax exempt if you buy bulk and if you apply for a tax exempt through your state. However, it’s not free and you must apply yearly.
@@SandraJCTaylor You are so helpful!🙏🏾 The not rushing into loans part makes so much sense..I am just working Ubereats and doordash right now to pay my bills...so it's really hard to have upfront money to put into starting my candle business 😞 I do have a line of credit 💳 with Afterpay which has been soooooo helpful. I have been able to shop online with Makesy using Afterpay. They have been the only candle supplier I have found so far that allows Afterpay. I am looking for a full-time regular job again.. just so I can generate a check to of course maintain bills and put money into my business. I'm blessed to live at home with a parent right now, I do have to pay rent for that too. Although, not an astronomical amount as if I would have to if I lived on my own. So ubereats and doordash only really pays my bills and not much left for extra expenses right now. I agree 💯 that starting small and simple is key, I tend to overthink things and I'm trying to start too big too soon in the beginning. A lot of people I have listened to say don't start until you're totally professional looking. Like with logos, websites, quality products.. and I do think that's good advice..but it's one of the main reasons I haven't started my business yet. Even though I have a whole candle 🕯️ workstation setup at home. I think I will just start with what I have which is quite a bit to make like 30 candles..and just try to get a DBA and EIN. Then order a simple logo to stick on my vessels..I can always redo my logo down the road when revenue is adequate, to hire a professional logo artist to make the logo I really want. Thank you so much again! I really love that you're a RU-vidr who truly communicates with their subscribers!!! ☺️ It shows you truly care and genuinely want to help others out on this candle business journey ♥️🙏🏾🕯️
Agreed, the videos you produce are long compared to others out there- But that does not mean it is a bad thing. There is so much to be learned that it is only when we get into all the details that we get complete and full knowledge on the subject. Others have short videos and you are done in a flash but also, they only contain a morcel and if you are not needing in depth info the short videos might be good for you. I'm grateful these contain as much as they do, it allows me to learn. We can't have a seperior product or gain an advantage if we only skin the suface. Keep up the good work Sandra we, your followers appreciate you.
thank you so much for opening up to all of us on your candle making journey. Ignore the haters, they are probably now killing it and want to project that onto others. I have a federal tax license, so if you have any questions reg. business matters, please do reach out, I am here to help.
You can use any oil that can blend well with fragrance oils and that don’t solidify too quickly in a bottle or that if they solidify you can warm up by rolling the tube gently with your palms to get it to a liquid state again. Most importantly, make sure that the oil you use is safe to rub on your skin. Because coconut oil has so many uses and benefits for people and it has a natural sweet scent, this is why I used coconut oil.
OMFG!!!! I am so very sorry this happened to you girl!! Wow. I’m in shock a company acted this way to you!! I’ve never ordered from Alibaba and I never will! Thank you for warning us. Disgusting behaviour on their part. I’m a single mom on a disability pension and this is a huge amount of money for me!! I couldn’t imagine paying those kind of shipping fees either. Absolutely insane they fucked up such a great potential partnership!! Like wow smfh
