Try getting a centering tool from Candle Science or from Wik_it. For very small vessels I just trace the bottom of the jar on card stock or paper and place the wick tab in the center of the jar trace it. Then I’ve created a template for my jar however this works best with clear jars so that when you place your empty jar on it you can place your wick right in the center and wick.
