Wow, this is very helpful! I'm surprised that the 0.625*0.02 booster is burning so hot compared to the 0.75*0.02 booster. I thought that a smaller wick would have a smaller flame 😲

I am struggling with the same issue with my wooden wick and new vessels, on the 6th wick to test again tomorrow. Hopefully I can get the right wick soon. I, like others, wicked down because it burned so hot but perhaps i will try one size up from the original size to see what happens. great video, thanks for sharing

Great video, congratulations!! I would like to ask you a question. The wick that I like the most is the wooden one, but I'm having problems with the wax, it gets ugly, with a brown tone as if it were dirty that I don't like at all, and I don't know if it's due to the size of the wick. I see that in your tests, even using larger wicks, the wax does not turn brown. Because it can be? Thanks a lot

Hola, You have to trim the wick every time you test burn your candles as well as burn your candles (per warning instructions on all candles) to minimize the amount of ash produced by the wood wick. It also emits soot that lands on the wax while burning. My candles does have a slight discoloration that the camera doesn’t pickup. However, your initial couple of burns shouldn’t make your wax discolor too much is more when you get midway to the end of the candle that you should really see the difference. I also noticed that because I don’t use a bright white wax I use a creamy wax like coco apricot that the slight color change is not too noticeable. Even if you color your wax you would still see a color change due to the wood in the wooden wick burning down. Which is a normal process of wood wicks. If you don’t really like the slight color change in your wick then try using cotton wicks (CD, CDN, LX, HTP, ECO etc…) Hope this explanation helps.

@@SandraJCTaylor Thank you very much Sandra for your answer and clarifications, they help me a lot. I cut the wick between ignitions and still that color comes out. I love the wooden wicks but not their effect on the wax. I use soy wax...snow white so it doesn't help too much. In my burns, I see that beige tone from the first ignition and as you say it is true that at first it is softer, but as it burns... thank you very much for answering me. Greetings from Spain!!!

They do look like it but they’re not. The ones from Makesy were too expensive to purchase in bulk. I do however have candle jars from them that I purchase for seasonal candles only.

Hola, There’s a lot of things that can interfere with your wicking issues. 1. Too much fragrance 2. Wrong wick size for the vessel dimensions 3. Wrong wax type and wick combo 4. You might need to size down on your wooden wick. Go to makesy.com and see which wick size works best for your size jars.
