So you bought a Maxx Slash and then threw everything out to make it do what it wasn’t meant to do? And it still suck at that? Yeah, terrible build. There isn’t much you “need” to change. Add the sway bars, add some foam and clips for other batteries, flatten and lengthen the suspension if you like. But thats it. Radio is 50/50. Just if you have it already. Its NOT a basher. Its fun to challenge people to do some laps without rolling it stock. It’s a beautiful stadium truck. If you want something else, buy something else. I made a custom body with lights and all because thats my thing. This truck is a great canvas for some amazing body mods. But to make people think its trash out of the box is still so very wrong. Its like buying a crawler and getting made it can’t launch 20 feet… I did a mod for a friend that made this into a huge drifter! No joke, the body I made for him was an AE86 Tofu Shop. He kept the esc and motor just changed the gearing. He said he’d upgrade onecs he burns those out but for now its running grate. I don’t know much and drifting but the tiers he got work great.
Got the roller last month. It's a beast of a truck with a Max 8 G2S, 70kg servo, and dunbo radio. First upgrade was the ADU Racing titanium shock standoffs and 7075 shock towers. Now I'm waiting for my Garage Life RC wheelie bar and my SMC 6s lipo. Don't run cheap lipos in this, it'll voltage sag them to destruction. I'm not a big fan of expensive lipos, but this truck destroyed two Hoovo 50C packs in one run. Dragged them down to 7.6 volts each and they won't charge again. That's down to 2.55 volts per cell, due to the 50c rating being fake. A 40C CNHL battery still hits early LVC, so i got a 150C 6s SMC, paid out the ass for it, but the weight demands it.
No wonder it has been Discontinued 🤔 The problem with the Revo is the unconventional nature of the build renders it a misfit for Racing /Bashing /Stunting 👀👎🏾 Is it Speed capable? Yup Skatepark capable?🤔 Two servos for Track👀 Full sending her like the BIG Bro Xmaxx 😂 good luck with parts support 💯👍🏾
@@RazorRC I hear ya, definitely not cheap. I’m just a racing newbie trying to figure which 1/8 e-buggy kit to buy, I can’t find anything on the internet that explains the driving and handling nuances as well as you do.
I dont understand the back flipping stunts trucks. I have a ARRMA Granite 3s and the Vorteks 3s, both are awesome trucks. I bashed back in the day when HPI came out with the Savage 21 nitro.
Xmaxx is the best horrible RC vehicle to me. It doesn't have a radio controller, it's a remote input suggestion box. By the end of a set of batteries I've walked 2 miles putting the body back on and swear I'll never drive it again. But eventually i do. It's just a big dumb, clumsy, goofball.
Considering you can get a Stampede roller for about $100 bucks, if you have a spare brushless set laying around, and you're on a low budget, I say go for a stampede roller and go out there have some fun until you can buy a Maxx or Xmaxx even.
Got a few brushless cars for the autumn & winter as I can't use my planes & helis here. Got my old FS GT3C out the shed where it seems to have done itself in. The scroll wheel doesn't work, soldered a new one & still doesn't work only to see the backlight isn't working either. Something more wrong with it than it seems. So bought a CT8A of AliExpress for £27 with 2x RX. Can't go wrong. Dumbo have a nice similar model about £30 now. Of course there's the radio link. But everybody says great things about the CT8A so for the price can't go wrong. I have had an old FS 6 ch tx do the same thing my current FS I6 has been kept in the house no problems. The damp sheds/garages/workshops not good storage for them.
So after doing this process, you then drive the car with the arrow pointing to 4 instead of max? So it will go flat out but only 50% brakes with the arrow on 4?
I just ordered one but that radio has to go. I had one with a Ecto crawler and that thing would get locked in forward sometimes when I did a quick reverse to forward move. Also binding it to my GT5 radio I should be able to lower brake power just by lowering end point for it.
Is there a video for the SLT2 that comes with the Gorgon? It has less buttons on the transmitter and no set button on the ESC. Would love to see instructions to set that one up. Thanks
The drive shaft connected to the sper gear will always drive at full power. A diff ONLY bleeds power from the planetary gear side. Any diff always has a drive side. Differential 101
I've got one the hypergo which seems to have an identical chassis but the screws keep breaking as the turnbuckles, and the battery has three 18650 cells so I question how powerful they really are but other lipos do fit
I just picked up the Deerc version of this car for the same price. Batteries are a more normal 3S style instead of the brick. Try the button trick. Push the esc in 5 times and it makes it ridiculous. Standing backflips and what not. I normally drive it in the mode you were in. Still fast but more driveable. I need to hook it to a different radio. Stock radio really sucks and has a weird throttle delay.
So I am all about RC but have never done the cheap rc stuff or the basic or entry level stuff, but isn’t that just rebranded Hyper Go or what ever that brand is? FYI, not shit talking, genuine question.

Damn , got some upgraded cable for faster internet today . Not by choice . Anyways . Both tv s had to be entirely rebooted , one Alexa doesn’t work at all and the phone doesn’t work . Hold off if they start calling u til they figure out the bugs
My suspicion is that the weird suspension is partly caused by the fact that the front suspension can’t actually bottom out. Unless they changed something, it binds up quite a bit before hitting the ground
Well, there's multiple problems. But the one on the 10208 nobody has mentioned is in the rear end and why it has erratic steering. This one isn't as bad, it's mainly the shocks, but the rubber arms don't help.
