Stay at home woman means, clean, cook, raise the kids, and give up to your dreams for at least a couple of years while you depend on your partner to buy everything. Then if things don't work out and you divorced him. You'll be with not savings. Having the kids custody probably and no men wanting to date you cs of it. It doesn't seem like a good decision to me. Personally I think as a woman you should always have your own money either with kids or not. Relationships are not forever, love is not forever, but money it is if you work for it. Also there's is something about men providing for you that gives them certain power and control over you. It's ok to fall in love, get married and have kids if that's what you want, but be smart and independent as much as you can.
maybe you can ask adults raised by working moms or stay at homes what they preferred. I was lucky to have stay at home and much preferred that to daycare or nannies. when my parents divorced and that changed I realized how good I had it.
I appreciate this even more so after watching and seeing the hate towards Harrison Butkers commencement speech! I’ve been a stay at home wife for 4 years now! I graduated college, worked as a TA for a few years then went to corporate for several and now that I’m a stay at home wife, I am so much happier! I never would have done it with anyone before even though it was my dream, but my husband has made me feel secure and has supported it! I still have my own separate bank account but I never touch it (unless it’s gifts for him for holidays/birthdays/anniversaries)! He puts money in my account just so I have it and he thinks I deserve it bc I wake up and have his breakfast ready, coffee and lunch packed, dinner ready at 6:30, house is always tidy, cozy and warm, laundry always complete and I am as he calls “a pure joy” to be around! Blessed to be a tradwife🥰🙏

I traded for a few years and it's amazing how even a few thousand more dollars can take you to a whole new level of making money. It's just getting that first bit of money that is the hardest. Once you had the money, it's soooooooooooo much easier to make more money because you're good at it now.
