Hi, my name is Jon, and I’m a regular road cyclist based in the North West of England. I have been a cyclist my whole life, and try to get out most days. The purpose of my RU-vid channel is to share the knowledge I’ve built up in my 40 years as a cyclist.

A bearing race performs similarly to cup & cone, put lasts a lot longer. Therefore less maintenance is required. The advances in technology means we need to maintain less, but use more advanced tooling when we do.

Hi John, another very useful video thank you, quick question when threading the new cable through the frame does the steel inner cable go through the white plastic inner (shown in option 1) as it passes through the frame or does it thread through the bikes routing only? I hope that makes sense, thanks, Tim

Thanks for the follow-up video. I appreciate the time and effort you put in, especially on the 1st video where you disassembled the wheel. That showed how well engineered the wheels were compared to the other wheelsets you're product testing and showed some surprising shortfall in the other brands. I liked the "on the road" portion of the video. It's nice to someone else in their 50's struggle up a hill. 🙂 On a side note, have you done a video on Hunt wheels. Opinions are so divided on the company, it would be nice to see your methodical approach to the positive and negatives of the wheels.

I find it funny not one reviewer even tried to set it up as a 13s rear cassette and review it anyway. Does it shift a 13s cassette? Well yes it does. I have a rotor and it works with a 10/36 13s cassette.

A typical Example for you - Devils Lane: Distance - 1.54mi Elevation Gain - 175ft Avg Grade - 1.8% Ride Count - 136 times (Over 3 years) My previous best was on the same bike, using Veloflex Cross Race tyres (Better) back in 2022, when I was riding roughly 650km a month (now at 1153km year to date), and weighed roughly 8-10kg less. I remember getting that PR, because I went full gas. My time in 2022 was 6:04 at 274 watts. My time on the 3rd of August with the Nepest wheels was 5:52 at 270 watts. I tried hard, but it was not full gas. This result is typical.

Or the usual story they spend the money on the build quality and save on the battery? I did read its got a 1000 charge cycle online gives it a 2 year life span (ish) but that's only on a review online, however it is a chunky unit so might have a big lipo in there which again can swell up through time if left uncharged time will tell that's it but you can get sram GX upgrade set for same price now new so yeah hard decision to make! And I'm in this situation at the moment waiting for TRP A12 EASI or go ahead with the sram? I'll buy the sram GX amd the TRP will come out a week later haha
@EMTBonsai
@EMTBonsai 2 дня назад
I'm interested in their EDS. For the e-bike mountain bike version, the derailleur is different, but they will need replacing every two years if the battery dies out of warranty, as the battery can't be replaced! They used the micro-fine tune in their new MTB version. A friend just got it, and it's incredible, to be honest! Just that non-removable battery that's stopping me going ahead with the order oh and the reply I got from them I would have to pay the post office customs charge at this end!
@juanfeliperestrepoveintemi6725
The way is everything getting expensive and expensive, I can tell that just buying cables and hosing is very expensive, I think Di2 is very expensive, but if you are a safe rider , you will get that money back in a long term. I feel very safe riding Di2, is less energy consuming and at the end for me that means low risk of falling. If you ride weekly long distances, worth the money you invest, ride safe and save money once you buy something expensive in case something happens 😅. Also if you happen to be good mechanic is ok to buy mechanical because you can fix everything, but if you are not, it will cost extra money. Again at the end those 500-700 that you pay, will mean not paying mechanic or parts. And lots of garbage

Love your Vid’s but since you asked for feedback I’ll be “that guy”. The very poor quality of your 360 camera was quite distracting. Maybe limit its use to bright sunny days when the internal SS is higher. I’m now kind of listing for a set of those nice hoops.
@ribblevalleycyclist
@ribblevalleycyclist 2 дня назад
You know that, I agree with you on that. I think I was so concerned about the audio (still not worked out what the issue is), I didn’t stop and consider the video quality. I did however spot this when watching it back later. It really struggled in low light, and quickly over-exposed when going into bright light. I also have a good ‘normal’ action camera, that I think I should also use when doing this sort of stuff. Thanks for the honest feedback, because you’re saying what I was already thinking.

Do I think its value for money. No . But it sure works well. I built the bike as a long term durable tough bike. But if I do build another , will prepare for the bank account reaming and get electric shifting again.

If you say anything bad it will be twisted to say you are promoting the item because you are encouraging them to get better and said brand looks better.
