Dave's RV Channel is my way of showing you RV/campers, so while you are at work goofing off on your computer, you can shop for a camper. I also try and show some tips and tricks of the industry. I do not work for any company selling campers or products. I am just a guy with a camera and a passion for campers. Check out my other channel to see my personal life, its called Dave and Muppy channel, it gives you a peek into our lifestyle, as we live on a modest budget while selling antiques, junk, vintage and hand made furniture across the Southern U.S. We travel in a small RV, me and a small dog named Muppy. When we are not traveling I am building furniture, cutting firewood, and finding creative ways to save money, and make money.
@@user-mf7ze8ew1g sorry, I have no clue, that’s why I keep videos very basic. 200 watts now using 200ah lithium I can run fridge 24/7 and box fan at night

Let me just tell you something I when I bought my camper. My camper has a dual axle. I had a 1997 Dodge Dakota SLE that Dakota had a lot more power had six in it towed it great but it didn’t make the hills the best but overall then I had a 2003 Chevy Silverado And that had four-wheel-drive in it but the camper no problem but the truck that I have now what I have now is a 2012 Chevy 1500 extended cab now this thing is rated for 9500 pounds with distribution hatch. I have 8000 pounds now the weight distribution helps Helps a lot more. I don’t have that much weight in the back of my truck right now maybe 500 pounds that’s it. I only have 500 pounds in the back in the back of the truck that’s it. I’m not gonna pay more than that, but my generator I have a small generator in there right now, maybe 3125 W power 75 pounds and I have very little in there. I actually have a ladder in there and I have. I don’t have many clothes in there have in there, but I don’t have a lot of weight there maybe for the bogey wheels but I’ll tell you, I just put new tires on my camper in January so I had my second round of tires after nine years so I’m still gonna have to do some things there but I’ll tell you wait distribution hits helps whether you have a small vehicle or whether you have a big vehicle and I have I have a work truck so my work truck has electric breaking unit in it and I looked ahead of time for this and my truck is big enough to haul up to 10,000 pounds. My weight abuse is up to my camper is 300 pounds but it’s mine weigh 6900 Heavy. & 3 966 light.
@@birdmanrobertlabodajr.3416 light to medium vehicle, pulling medium to heavy camper, I always suggest using weight distribution hitch. Heavy vehicle pulling light camper, I suggest avoiding the hitch. That’s the only time I suggest not using it
I just found out about this comoany 2 weeks ago. I did a teardown and rebuild on a vintage 15' travelaire (another Canadian builder that isnt around anymore). Me and my wife have come to the conclusion on our last trip that the floorplan and size doesnt work for us now thst we have 2 boys. It also has the rear side door that i think makes packing and unpacking a pain. I stumbled across taylor coach on another youtube channel. When i looked into them i was amazed that we could go to a 19' and save 200 lbs in dry weight or go to a 21' for 300 lbs more in dry weight than our current trailer. Both would also have a lower hitch weight and double the amount of beds. Im pretty set that theyll be our next trailer. I just have a few things to finish and paint before we're ready to sell our current trailer and uograde.
@@Fred.Carpenter I’m assuming your initial comment is about my southern accent. You do realize that people in England speak English very differently than someone of California, Australia and of course Texas. It’s amazing how many people make ignorant comments about my accent as if there’s only one true English accent that’s acceptable
@@davesrvchannel4717 It wasn't so much the accent as the use of the word, done, and I get a kick out of the variety of British accents as well. The "shickens" part I got from one of my great uncles when he told me "don't mess with ma shickens" when I tried to touch one of them. So, it's something I say anyway and not using a southern accent. I might imitate or make fun of an accent, but not in a negative way. But you can't tell that through text across the internet. It's kind of like how after the movie, Sling Blade came out, everyone was trying to talk like him. If you ask me, social media is making people more insane than they already were. The internet was never intended for anything social and filters out about 90% of communication that takes place in person.
I may be doing a video soon related to this topic. Lots of bent frames, axles and leaf springs breaking recently. My thoughts is related to weight distribution hitch
Accurate, good video! Yep, run your fridge-tater... Watch movies on an iPad and bring a couple big USB battery banks to recharge it. You can run a small USB fan off a battery bank too. To go totally off grid for like days, like with AC, you'll need waaay more than those 200 watts.
