I know its an old video hopeful you still respond. I just got the beyerdynamic dt 990 pro and ive had the astro tr pro mixamp. Would i just need an amp to connect the mixamp to, and then plug the 3.5mm jack from the headphones to the amplifier so i can use it on pc?
Well you could probably just plug this straight into pc. For pc there are other options as well if you haven’t bought this yet that have more power. Depending on the ohm rating of your headphones you may not need anything else. This would probably work for 32 or 80 ohm versions. If you want to use it as a dac you would plug this into your pc then plug this into your amp. But for pc you don’t really need to do all that, you could just buy a cheap dac like an apple usb c to 3.5mm adapter and plug that into the amp. Or easier yet just use your headphone out and plug it into your amp, depending on how good the headphone out is on your computer. You may just be able to plug your headphones into your pc as well depending on the ohm rating of the headphones.

Yeah it’s ok, you just won’t get as much dynamic range as with more powerful amps. Sound won’t be as punchy in the bass and treble with sound a little more flat and harsh.
You can start with an apple dongle, they sound great if you don’t need wireless and eq. For eq it’s a great option especially for iPhone where you can’t get it in app.
With the Astro amp you can just use a trrs splitter to do it. You plug mic into one side and headphones in the other. That being said I think the best bet for good audio is a headset style with the mic close to your mouth.
Last question. What kind of a sound mixer would you recommend going with the headphones? I ordered the Headphones and got the on the same day on amazon and love these things. Soundstaging is amazing and insanely comfortable. Very pin point accurate for gaming and orgasmic for listening to music.
I use the Astro mix amp but that’s because it’s the only option for Xbox. Depends on what you’re plugging it into and are going to use it for. Schiit and sennheiser both have gaming specific options that would be good for pc.
Hello brother, i am more into clean instrumentals and vocal clarity in songs. I want to be able to hear the vocals crisp and even the instruments with clarity. Not much of a basshead though. I want to even enjoy music like the avengers portal soundtrack with the trumpets clear and all. I'm confused between CCA CRA and 7hz zero. This would be my 1st IEM. Could you help me with ur inputs in choosing between the two? Thanks...
I come to share a thought with you, do you think adapting a shotgum mic on top of the monitor and connecting it to a dac/amp would it be good for games? In this case, I will be about 80cm away.
That’s interesting, I think I’ve tried something like that. I found it easier to just use a lav mic with a y adapter if I wanted to do something separate though.
Thanks for a great review.. when plugged into a phone via usb for maximum quality will it still run off its own in built battery or will it drain the phone's battery using the phone's power instead and charge itself off the phone? (I hope it doesn't drain my phone's battery and still uses it's own battery independently).. thanks

Got the Douk U3 for a bargain price from Temu. As soon as it arrived I rigged it up and plugged in my Sennhieser 560s. For anyone buying this little budget amp don't let the initial sound quality put you off it. While it is decent out of the box it still can be better with changing the op amp. Initially with the NE5532D op amp the cymbols were very splashy which is what people mean when they say it has 'glare'. I rolled a couple of op amps which completely killed that 'glare'. The Muses 8920d, 8820, Oracle 11, opa1622 and the BB2604. My personal favourite is the BB2604 (CERAMIC VERSION) it has a deep wide soundstage with a very full and well controlled sound signature with clear vocals, nice tight high end and full bass, the BB2604 always packs a punch in everything i put it into. Next was the opa1622 (the most technical and flat sounding) which has a very balanced sound with tight drums, and a very clean overall sound and dark background. The Muses 8920 was a little mashed in regards to over instrument separation and not as clean as the others including the 8820 which is far cleaner and with a good soundstage. So, the U3 is a very decent small headphone amp. There is a tiny bit of background noise when idle but not enough to complain about and for the price the U3 is a bargain! It is a big step up from my Creative Audigy FX2 soundcard and puts some real power into my 560s and with the BB2604 op amp, the U3 is definitely staying put for a while. UPDATE: Put the Burr Brown opa2134 into the U3 today and it sounds even better!
hey! not sure if you have any idea on how to fix this but since i formatted my PC the peace and equalizer apo seem to not work. i wasnt sure what was the issue, then i noticed that the peak volume meter doesnt show any volume at all, even on max volume and being loud in my headphones. i tried reinstalling the apo, updating or using other versions, installing as SFX/EFX, i have no idea what to do or even research since i couldnt find any solution. any help would be appreciated!
Make sure it is using the right source or reinstall the device you’re using as a source is what I would try. I talk about that in the video at some point I’m pretty sure if you want to research it.
I need a DAC or mixamp (idk the difference) for a headset I'm looking to get, the PC38X. Can't be used on console otherwise, so I'll need a DAC/mixamp. My question is, will the Astro mixamp pro TR work with the PC38x?
@@hackinghifi4247 Since I left that comment I've learned that I don't even need the mixamp for the PC38x, I only need a splitter to make it work on my Xbox 360. However, I ran into another issue. I want the option to use discord and have game audio simultaneously through the PC38x. Apparently the only way to make that work is via the mixamp. But I'm still not totally sure how to make this work. Maybe you know?

I have a pair of these and I can confirm that the bass is quite bloated and lacks clarity. The mid range is definitely lacking. That said, they are fine for general music listening but you'd NOT want to use them for audio mix playback testing. The build quality and comfort is stellar though.
How do you feel about the AutoEQ function that's in Peace now? I use that and it seems to be totally different from the manually entered settings. Not sure which to go with.

So yeah bad company to buy stuff from when they can just change stuff after getting an initial marketing hype for a decent set. "dt770's are tuned much better in the sense of not needing the eq than the 58x" lol, definitely not. dt770 pros are one of the most boomy headphones with incredibly veiled midrange and treble (I used 80 ohm and 32 ohm versions with a proper amp, not sure about 250 ohm one but it shouldn't be much different), their strange frequency responses confirm that. unless there is high unit variation (unlikely with beyerdynamic and sennheiser), there is something weird going on with your hearing.
The d770 pro doesn't have a strange frequency response. It's very even and fairly smooth. The only flaw is the extreme high end which is the weakest part (we have headphones that have more detailed and smoother high end but cost like 7 or 10 times more, few people will notice it) but the bass and mids are almost perfect, imaging is top notch, transients are very impressive.
