For me at the moment: 1) Astra Superior Platinum 2) Bic Chrome Platinum 3) Derby Premium 4) Dorco ST-300 (Red Package) 5) Dorco Prime 6) Gillette Super Thin Mejorada (Brazil) 7) Gillette Super Thin Mejorada (China) 8) Kaili KL-B01 (Rebranded as "Go Shave") 9) Minora Super Stainless 10) Glätz Supreme 11) Euromax 12) Max Platinum 13) Dorco ST-300 (Blue Package) Notes: ● I put the MAX and Dorco st300 blue blades in the last places because both of them scratched my skin. The rest were ranked from most permissive to least permissive. Euromax, Glätz and Minora are very sharp for me, they makes my skin red and hurt me on the first shaves. ● The blue Dorco st300 that I have I think may be a fake, since the blade broke on the 6th shave and the steel was not properly tempered. ● Although the Dorco ST-300 red blade usually causes me a few bleeding pores the first few uses, from the fourth to the eighth use the blade reaches its sweet spot and it's very comfortable and does not hurt my skin. ● None of the blades listed above were purchased overseas or using Amazon or similar services. I could find them all in physical stores in my country. That is the reason why I do not have blades like Feather, Kai, Nacet, Voskhod, Lord, Personna, Bolzano, 7 O'Clock, Polsilver, Astra Superior Stainless, Gillette Silver Blue, Big Ben, Treet Black Beauties, Permasharp, Rapira, etc. in the list. I understand that in my same country I could also get Gillette Platinum, Derby Extra and Sago. Maybe it will be possible at some point.
This razor looks innocent but dont let it fool you. Its aggressive and I own 20 different types of razors. Like Gem razors, You have to " Ride the cap" or else its harsh.

A standard safety razor never mind one of those fancy 5 blade one ect., will do a superior job to the straight edge in every way imaginable. The straight edge is just a gimmick and its only real practical use is for line ups. Remember that in the olden days they had no choice since a safety razor hadn't been invented yet.
Sounds like the SR-71 Aircraft was better then the Blackbird Razor. I was hoping this review would not be Bata Model, but a Production Model. Your REVIEW did not sell me, having been around the SR-71 Aircraft Kelly Johnson’sBird was better.
yeah, it takes a lot of practice to do it yourself. And it takes time. Asked a friend a few times to help me out but he can't do it all the time. Thankfully my room mate agreed to give me a shave every morning before we leave for university. She does a good job and we have always nice chats while she is working on my head. I think I will ask her out.
Why does everyone talk about EJ de89 and not the Muhle R89 as a great standard for razors? The de89 is a knock off of the R89. The de89 uses licensed tooling from Muhle. Muhle should be referenced as the standard, it is the original and EJ just makes their own handles?
I have to wait to see the barber till Wednesday and I’m about a month over due and so I was peeping at these new box cutter blades I just got and stumbles across this video…. I think I’ll just wait 😅😅
This video is 6 years old and this brand of cream has only increased by a dollar. The art of shaving is 33 for the same thing. I'm going to buy some captains choice.
So, now 6 years out after daily use. I have noticed one problem with the Hone 15. After using everyday the fine blasted finish got so smooth on the handle I could no longer grip it. I had been wishing for a while I had a lathe where I could knurl the handle. Today in the shower it dawned on me to sand blast the handle. I taped the handle off 1/4" from the threaded end and 1/2" from the closed end and took it to my sand blaster cabinet. After sand blasting it with 60 grit abrasive that has been used for a while, the part in the middle now once again gives me grip. I'm in love with this razor once again! Only issue is it removed the beautiful patina that I had built up over the last 6 years. Just wish Hone would add a knurling station to the CNC machine they produces these on.
For me, it’s 1.) Nacet…2.) Feather…3.) Voskhod…and 4.) Astra SP. My second tier blades are 1. ) Gillette Platinum..2.)Bic SP..and 3.). Gillette Silver Blue. Gillette makes some great blades but the Nacet rings the bell for sharpness and smoothness. My razors are the Rockwell T2 and 6C, and a 1965 Gillette Slim.
been trying to learn the shavette for a few weeks now. I thought if I practiced my technique I'd get the closest shave possible. But it's not much closer than my merkur progress, and not close at all around my lips and chin (above the jawline)
Well, I guess Bevel must have listened to you. I was in a store the other day and saw all the Bevel products sold and packaged individually,. To be honest I didn't know anything about the razor but I thought it looked cool so I bought it. When I got it home I dropped a Feather blade in it and took it for a spin, Wow how nice. One pass and some clean up and I was almost BBS.
