I’ve always wondered about these blades as I use them at work all the time, now I know! Thanks for taking one for the team and hopefully your straights come home soon!
I actually only shave with a box cutter. They are super thin and sharp. The more I practiced, the closer of a shave I’ve gotten and less razor burn from shaving off skin. Closest shave I’ve ever had. And least amount of cuts
Looks like Freddy Krueger got you in a bloodbath shave with the box cutter, he must have spook you over your shoulder without thinking or be looking for a split second during your first pass shave. Welcome back
I have to wait to see the barber till Wednesday and I’m about a month over due and so I was peeping at these new box cutter blades I just got and stumbles across this video…. I think I’ll just wait 😅😅
Way better than eating tide pods. ;PBut seriously, this is pretty cool. It probably would have been easier with something to hold it, like a weck shavette.
Hi Scott. The razor that your were using is the "Americano" part of the JAVA Series of wet shaving products. There are differences between it and the Weishi. The open/close mechanism has been slightly improved, the razor gap is slightly different to make the razor be a tad more aggressive than the stock razor. Finally a setting has been designed in the production vtsion, so that the shaver can adjust the aggressivity even more. The Americano sells for $30. The JAVA Americano and the JAVA Espresso are available from Friday April 27th!!! We also have Barista Soap (decaf) and the Sumatra razor coming out in the next 3-weeks. Finally we have a second series of wet shaving products that feature an incredible value proposition targeted at new wet shavers. The VINTAGE Series willl be launched with a wonderful all-steel, antique black razor called the Black Tiger. Black Tiger sells for $9.99 and will be available starting May 15th. If you are interested in any of the razors that I am bringing to market, please go to www.ShaveMama.com or www.JavaSeries.info. The charity that we support is the Starlight foundation. But I will make a deal with you because a company is only as good as its values. I will also donate 1% of the proceeds to your fund raising campaign for the next 1,000 razors that I sell. We must never forget that children really ARE our future and ANY investment in children's charities helps make this world a better place both now and in the future! Finally, I want to thank-you for your review. It is much appreciated. We are a new business and are very dedicated to helping the world discover the benifits of wet shaving. We can use all of the love that anyone can give us. Thanks again, Sheldon
My Futur clone took mine down pretty easily on its highest setting (it was my first ever video from a few months ago). The only trouble area was the chin. Surprisingly little irritation overall. I don’t think I’ll be trying this :)
It actually is a shaving-grade blade. But for purposes of telling the lay person (non-wetshaver), it makes more sense to just call it a box cutter blade.
I just shaved my head for the first time, I was wondering if you could recommend some lotions or oils that are good to use on your scalp between shaves?
Alright, gents. $20 Wahl trimmer (ideally with taper lever) basically from any pharmacy/grocer's and you never have to resort to this. No, I don't mean a podunk "beard trimmer" (that never works correctly for being ridiculously under-powered) but a regular hair clipper. Also, you will save yourself a fair bit of change on blades if you pre-trim with it before you properly shave (and net an even closer shave). Alternatively, keep a pack of those damned dollar store disposables somewhere for these desperate times lol. Seriously, I've been using my Wahl for years and I have had no problems with it pulling/cutting UNLIKE those damned "beard trimmers". If it has a taper lever you can also style with it (mustache on greater than #2 guide's the only tricky bit).
Wow, didn't expect that! Quite the return performance. ECWS put up a post in support of Noah. Happy to do something personally in support. God Bless. BTW: what blade did you use in the DE?
I mean- sure if you have a beard and you wanna shave it a box cutter will get the job done but if you’re used to shaving everyday and you intend on using a box cutter - it won’t work. It’ll definitely help shave off hair but it won’t shave off daily stubble. There’s a reason ppl spend $30 on razor blades and not $5 on a pack of box cutters 😂
A bit of a stretch of an excuse that your other razors are out for repair to use a box cutter to shave your beard off haha. You could have just said you wanted to see how bad of an idea it was or that you lost a bet.
Please tell me that YOU KNOW that the box cutter style blades that are used in single edge razors are very different to box cutter / paint scraper blades. The former have three facets and are VERY sharp. The latter only have two facets and a much more serrated leading edge. I can't help but think this is adding you a shaving myth that SE blades are all the same and are rubbish. You really need to clarify! Oh and to add, your lather, given the soap used, should be much better, something wrong there too.
Yes, I know there is a BIG difference between the two blades. And, yes, I recognize I could have worked up the lather a bit more, but I only have so much time during a video. 😉
The Clean Shaver Appreciate the reply, many thanks. You have to understand that people look up to you and trust that you know what you are talking about. I've spent a lot of time on forums and so many people have been turned off SE razors because they used scraper blades. Regarding the lather, that soap is capable of so much more and it should be represented as such or you're selling it short. I enjoy your channel and appreciate the time you put in so keep it up!
i'm glad you wouldn't recommend it....but i assure you i'd already made up my mind well before that was mentioned ^^ (around about the time you nearly took your cheek off)
