Crab is very expensive in Bangkok. If you order any dish with crab, it's pretty much this price and up. A crab omelet costs around the same at the famous Jay Fai (Michelin one-star street food) and even more at some other places. So I'd say crab isn't the first thing I go for in Thailand.
I really enjoy your videos. You should have one hundred thousand subscribers. In two years or so I plan to visit Vietnam with relatives. Then slowly make my way across south Asia to India. I am fascinated by the street food videos as much as I love the fine dining ones. Your loyal subscriber.
crazy of Fufski to have and ask a friend who has authority on the boar 😂 ..And only 4200 baht for Alain Ducasse's restaurant, that's a crazy deal. This should be in my checklist if I go to Thailand.
This place is legit amazing and sometimes they have even better deals. I received an email a few weeks back saying that for a limited time they had a special 5 course lunch menu (similar to this) for 2800 bhat! Crazy.
You won't find a better value michelin meal anywhere..... wow. Add to that the name Ducasse and the amazing travelled chef Wilfrid hocquet and you're on to a total winner, what a fantastic lunch. Amazing views, great service and a very attractive drinks package as part of the deal. The main course chicken looks stunning , I'll watch out for that next visit. The Wild boar, yes it's very Gamey ( livery as you call it) full of rich flavour and not to everyone's taste. Farmed boar being a little more subtle compared to the wild one. Looked medium/ well done to me but I suppose pork is a meat that always needs cooked to a specific temperature for safety reasons. All in all ... Fantastic meal and I definitely need to return.

I think so! For this level of execution and presentation combined with the exploratory experience, it firmly earns a spot. These elements and qualities are usually what 50 Best is looking for.
I would have enjoyed that. As always, I'm curious as to the cost, apart from the wines. I know I'm showing my lack of class. As Americans say; "if you have to ask, you can't afford it,!" Hahaha. Yesterday I went with a nephew to our favorite restaurant. YD Tofu House here in Sacramento California. We have massive Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese communities here so the Asian food is always the best. We love Korean BBQ...Bulgogi . And this is the one we love. Beef ribs... and .Tonkatsu.. (breaded pork) in Korean...Don katsu. And more than fifteen side dishes. I was thinking of you as we ate and how much fun it would have been if you had joined us.
Haha, the food you had certainly sounds great! When I'm not having fine dining (which is most of the time), I'm pretty much having either home cooked meals or something along the lines of those comfort food and maybe even simpler versions. The tasting menu now on the website says 6,300 bhat which is around $180 USD before VAT and 10% service charge. They might have raised the price a bit since my visit but I can't be sure of that. It's not cheap by any means but for what it offers I think it's of good value. I can certainly imagine it being at least $280 in NYC.
Yes I think they are pretty good for the price and setup they offer! But too bad that it got so popular that they can only service a limit number of tables per day, and no reservations. Which means the only chance to get it is to arrive early to score a ticket. Kinda crazy
It’s Michelin Bib Gourmand which is considered one tier lower. The description says high quality food at affordable prices. There are a lot more Bib Gourmand places than that of the stars especially in Bangkok.
Yes it is 😂 baiju is kind of an old man's drink here. It is usually drank by those older people in higher position and there is a whole set of drinking culture about it.
There really aren't a lot of Burmese places in NYC. And this year I've traveled to Myanmar 3 times and ate there quite extensively. And I'll say some of their dishes are on par with the best I've had in Myanmar.
