Shooting is easy. However we often find ourselves frustrated, fed up, or confused about why we can't seem to succeed in it. Or we simply know nothing about shooting at all and want to change that.
This channel will provide you with tips/tricks, and training class excerpts, and knowledge about all things that go "pew".
These are thoughts from my head made into videos. Enjoy.
One of these with a 1.53 badger mount and a top mount red dot is a perfect 0-600 yard 14" carbine ar15. Wish l'd went with this Leupold 2-10 5HD instead of a Vortex Gen 3 1-10. ( which is amazing but you’re right.. it doesn't do 1 or 10 at the VERY best performance ) Also at 10 the eye box isn't all that forgiving. Also no parallax on the Razor. Both are $2500 roughly but with the Leupold you need to add a top mount red dot and that’s more $$.
This "idea" would have been new in 2010. It's been around long before you and hasn't gained traction for a reason. Two dots is also the absolute worst version of it.
Aw man. I really thought I was onto something. Thank goodness you came along with this info. I never said I invented it. I just made a video about it. More training, less internet. Ok. Bye.
Your occluded dot video changed my shooting. I'd never shot with an occluded dot before, and the first time I put that painters tape on my dot and hard focused on the target, I just busted out laughing. The dot was there, and was there every time as long as I did my part. I had no idea how bad I was watching that dot more than the target. To the point that I may shoot occluded form here on out.
@@jbstraininggroup3640 If you ever host a red dot pistol course around Columbia, SC I know myself and a few others would jump at the chance. Sandhills Shooting Sports in Lugoff would be a good host site for a small class.
For prep and snatch are you snatching on the trigger NOW whenever the confirmation level is acceptable for the distance and target difficulty? Let’s for a 15 yard headbox, once sights are on target with confirmation 3 (for me) snatch the trigger now? On a staged trigger to 95% I have more tendency to move the gun on prep and roll since I’m not fully staged so takes longer time wise to roll through the trigger to keep stable
YES! I’ve been scratching my head for awhile now trying to figure out why in dryfire I pull my dot to the right, and print to the right at the range. Really been putting conscience effort on the pressures I’m applying (Right handed shooter) This helped me figure out the cause, and now keep at my dryfire to clean it up
Awesome set up man i love it, my 12.5 i built is similar. your can is better. Thank you for your video. These hard core 556 guys don't get it. but that just fine for me. i can hit it, they can't.
This video is about ten minutes too long. You could have said everything you said in half the words, and you still left out important stuff. Like, what power do you like for that longer range scope?
im currently building a 12.5 6 arc with the centurion stainless barrel, A5 h1, its crazy not too many people are experimenting with shorter 6arc builds. How do you like the centurion barrel, can we get an update on that? also have you tried the Geissele 6arc mags?
Best thing to do is to go as minimal as possible with what you have and problem solve. Just enough of the necessities (2moa rifle, ammo, scope and dope) and then skill build before buying a bunch of gear.
Wow this is excellent. Thank you for your time to put this together Some things I need to work on and this gives me a good direction of gathering information
Mark, your content is incredible and I appreciate you sharing it with us! I have been shooting the Razor Gen2 for 4 years now and put a high priority on 1x as the majority of my shooting is under 100yds. However, I am contemplating upgrading to the Gen3 after listing to your content on DMR matches. In your opinion, is the 1-10 a significant improvement over the Gen2? Does the 1x suffer compared to the 1-6? Thanks a ton man!
Why not just go with irons with a lower 1/3 cowitness ?.. That way your sight picture isn't too crowded. It's the same concept as having a red dot on your pistol. Better to have that than 2 optics that could give out from malfunction or batteries. I hated irons for the same reason, but I came back around for practical reasons. Right now I'm running a vortex uh1 with scalarworks peak sights at a lower 1/3 and I have no complaints. I can look over the sights and directly at the reticle or slightly nod my head and be in alignment with the irons. Even if you are looking through the irons, the rear sight is barely visible if you're focusing on the reticle.
