Hello Everyone! Welcome to my channel, My name is Adam and I've always had a love for anything rolling on two wheels! On this channel I will be sharing my experiences with my new 2019 Triumph Speed Twin! along with anything else rolling on two. I will occasionally share past experiences and reminisce of the nostalgic times of my past on motorcycles. I live in Los Angeles but am originally from Michigan where my rural upbringing cultivated my love for motorized fun. I'm sarcastic by nature so don't always assume I'm being 100% serious in my videos! I will try to mix it up with MotoVlogs, reviews, and projects, So if you like what you see, Like and Subscribe! Ride Safe, and Thanks for stopping by!
Did you set the spring pre load and measure sag? Also, how did you have the bike supported - center stand? Center jack? Seems you don't want the bike on a paddock stand for this job? Nevertheless - job done and it looks great.
I am not the only one who hate the OEM mirrors! bought a pair of the T120 reviewmirrors ... not installed them yet though could you post the link of those brackets!?
Question: I just got a speed twin 1200 and when “cruising” at 90mph revs are at 5500. Doesn’t seem to want to go above without some pretty noticeable engine shaking. Is that the normal rev range for that speed? Rode a buddy’s T120 and was shocked I could cruise at 75mph in 4th gear at 4000 rpms. My speed twin is in 6th for that. Thanks in advance
Greetings from Spain. I have a Bonneville T120 and my question is if you are still using that shock absorber today. I imagine it will be the same for the T120 or there will be an equivalent one from that commercial brand. Thank you.
Thank God for that awesome intro, it made the entire 6 minute video that much better. Without it I wouldn't know what it was about and would be left in a total state of confusion.
Just a quick note: I can't recall if you mentioned the 10/12 min tune/adaptation in this video or another, but I was looking at a deal TSB about adaptations and it looks like what you're referring to is the "Off Idle Adaptation". Dealers can run a Fast or Standard Adaptation using their triumph diags software suite, but there is an Off Idle they can't run because it takes 12 min while riding at constant speed, so the TST told them to tell customers to do this on their own time, and I think that's where the lore of the 10 min tune came from, only it seems you gotta be moving. I'll quote form the service manual here: "NOTICE: 1. Both the Fast Adaptation and Standard Adaptation methods only adapt the idle area. 2. The off idle area can only be adapted when the motorcycle is ridden under load, i.e. on the road. 3. The off idle adaptation area covers cruise sites from 40 to 60 mph (60 to 100 kmh), therefore the motorcycle must be at operating temperature and ridden at a constant speed for a minimum of 12 minutes in order to adapt. As it is not always possible for dealers to adapt motorcycles in this way, dealers are therefor recommended to inform customers that the motorcycle will continue adapting during normal use. If during an adaptation cycle the conditions are no longer met, for example if the motorcycle is ridden aggressively, the motorcycle will take longer to adapt." This info followed the dealer adaptation where it was indicated that the motorcycle should be connected to the diag tool, run the bike, don't touch the throttle, wait till the temp rises to 90c and the queue the adaptation from the diag tool. Which again reinforces that the 10min tune is a conflation of the on and off idle adaptation methods.
I have bought mine recently and purchased her in a dealer 500km+ far from my home. So the motorcycle debut was a quite long trip. I was really uncomfortable with that cause I am acquainted with my other bike, a big trail wich I use for such rides. Nevertheless I was surprised with its performance as far as not only it’s inherently power and torque but also its confort, manouverability and stability. Despite being a “naked” bike, I could manage the wind quite easy. So for while I have just installed a sump guard, a crash bar and my Garmin support. Good video as usual and thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. Ride safe🙏
This bike is weigh a ton , and suprisingly the 1200cc engine only manages to pump 203kmh makes me think twice before i migrate into classic/cafe Triumph bike. comparing to my current Aprilia Tuono V4 its much well balanced optimized power to weight ratio that is hard to replace the fun.
It's easy to replace the fun if you have a different definition of "fun". For me, "fun' isn't about power to weight ratios. I have a 1300 VTX that weighs 750 lbs and I have had nothing but fun with it for 14 years even though one could argue that the power to weight ratio isn't all that good. Why does everyone think that you cannot have fun with a bike unless it can go zero to sixty in under 3 seconds or something like that? That attitude seems so silly to me.
Does this mod really feels better? Also, the looks, don't you think it breaks a bit the styling? ( the ohlins do really look modern ). PS: I have a Street Triple but i test rode the Speed Twin and i'm wondering if switching it for some time.
Hi Adam - has your quadlock been ok with your Iphone over this time - so annoyed i bought a Mous Intralock case and motorcycle mount and after 5 rides the camera stabiliser has broken.
I can't imagine there is any intentional design to this free-play/slop. I came from a Triumph Trident 660 which had zerø. Throttle was either on, or off. No vague in between space. Throttle control was exact and perfect. A month ago I traded to a ST900 and I've been telling myself I could live this for the past 1900 miles. I could but, no I'd rather not, it's a PITA. Slow speed maneuvers, corners etc....is a bit herky-jerky. Salesperson put these on her Scam 900 and said it's a must do mod. I'm going to get these. Thanks for this install vid👌
