Useful video, thanks. I’m interested in retro-fitting this for wireless Apple CarPlay in my 2012 XKR. However, by bypassing the USB module, does that mean I’d lose the ability to charge my phone via the USB socket in the armrest? Also, can you advise if there is any drop in audio quality? I currently play music via an Invery Bluetooth adapter plugged in to the car’s iPod socket.
This video leaves much to be desired. Skipping over some of the most difficult steps like routing the cables and dealing with the XM antenna. for which standoffs were not included in my package so had to wait days for those to arrive by amazon while the car was taken apart.
Hi, it was never tested on unit that is equipped with aftermarket amp, but in theory it would work if car comes with a USB in the armrest as it uses the USB menu for carplay selection. thank you
my dad wants to fit this to his xkrs but when we checked there was no usb module in the back do you know where its located or if this carplay kit will even work on an xkrs? otherwise this is just a perfect mod
i pulled out my radio today to check if i have the MOST wires. i have the CIC Mid, no CD Charger, but still have MOST. so far so good. there‘s also a lot of space unter the CIC Mid unit for the box. but can i still use my USB port to play music if i wanted to or does this box replace every other possibility to play music? if for example my phone dies or something…

Hi, I have just purchased this and I am wondering now if there is any radio with it, car radio barely works and I wonder if I need to purchase DAB separately.
around 8:14 it shows the unit sliding into the cubby location here by the steering wheel. Is there any photos of this online to see how it fits or where it sits in this area better? on a 2009 GTS - it doesnt seem to fit in this location without modification (theres some structures here that prevent placement) Is there another example where its installed in the glovebox area?
Is there any way at all to use dab or fm radio whilst in android mode? I don't want to use tunein or any other Internet based radio, the signal is far too unstable and I've not seen an app I enjoy using to switch stations.

This is not the version with microphones splitter, isn’t it? Because on my version of x3 cic I don’t have the same plug which was supplied with the unit for the microphone
