Dedicated to all things journal-y! Sketchooks, journals, omni journals, bullet journals, etc. including tutorials, demonstrations, product reviews and testing, and more.
What a great system! I love your omnijournal. and it is so freeing to have everything in one book and just make an index. Also Peter Pauper Press is surprisingly good for mixed media. I like that they are so affordable, too
You'll want to take a lighter and carefully make a couple quick passes with the end of the ribbon over the flame to seal (melt) the end, so it won't fray. You don't want to overdo this, though. You may be able to save the existing ribbon by doing this. Hope this helps.
I have an elastic bookmark that i currently use and i accidentally djd some slight damage to two papers. I then thought of this kind of bookmark and i might make some. I'm reading asoiaf and they're the leather-bound version with a sewn spine, so I might make this choice!
This is actually a really good video! Took me a while to find it, I heard you mention it in another one of your videos... Hope you post a link in the Description of those other videos so people can find it easier. Thanks :)
Peter Pauper gets my vote. The aesthetics of the whole journal as well as the nice quality paper makes them a winner. I have 4 now and 2 more on order from Amazon. Waiting for the New Year to start a new journal with one.
Now, controversial opinion, but hear me out: Instead of glueing to the inside of the spine, you glue to the very left of the the inside of the back cover, and this way the ribbon at the top sits flush with the top of the pages when you close the book, instead of that little crease being created as the pages fold the ribbon shut.
So, maybe... my Altered Book (that isn't full) that I'm now using (some pages in) to start holding some attempts at making Junk Journal pages! Maybe that qualifies! Thanks! =)
“Clearly designed by a woman”🤣😂🤣. Had a giggle about that. I’m pleased to see that I’m not the only one who hoards and collects journals and notebooks! I’m tring to find my groove, what is me, what size book I like, what to put in them. I love this video. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely agree with Hanne Bork. Found this after multiple videos not exactly showing me how to hang a charm into a notebook. This is perfect👍. Thanks
I've been using HP Premium 32 for a while now. I found a website that lets me print dot grids at different sizes and I found I like a small grid for bujo stuff and a larger grid for writing, taking notes, etc. And then I can keep pages blank for drawing. I use a binder to keep the dot paper in but I mean it's such a modular system, I actually keep my old bujo pages in a little folder and I figure you could make it work for you in probably more ways than I could imagine.
Oh. I’ve been doing that. I didn’t know it was a thing. I’ve tried regular journaling but I always go back to this type. I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong.
I'm doing an omni journal for 2020. I did a regular bullet journal last year and ended up with additional notebooks and journals. So for 2020 I'm moving into a Filofax. I had issues keeping things in nice clear sections in my regular journal, with a Filofax I can take out spreads that aren't working or rearrange spreads with ease. Hopefully it'll be a good fit for me.
Yes, there is overlap.... a traveler's notebook can be an Omni Journal (if it contains multiple elements), and an Omni Journal can be a traveler's journal, if you do it on a trip! For example: On every trip I take, I do a traveler's size Omni Journal that I then insert in a larger binder of all my trips for the year. Fun to go back through them all! :)
