What is an Omni Journal? 

I'm new to journaling in the way that I was unaware there were whole communities of people who talk about what they do, like, dislike, collect, etc. I'm about halfway thru this video, but I couldn't wait to tell you how much I'm loving the presentation and the fact that you're sharing your experiences with all the different journals out there. Thank you!

I am so glad I am not the only one who has a collection of journals, sketch books, and pens.

I'm so happy I found you!!! I love journals and my husband thinks it's ridiculous to have them all over the house and half don't have anything in them!!! I didn't know anyone else felt the pressure of starting a new one besides me! Def subscribing right now!!!

I honestly don't know how I stumbled on this video; I had no idea an omni journal even existed until this video. But it is honestly so reliving to find a person just as obsessed with journals as me. And now I don't feel so bad for my "rando" journal in my purse! It's just a disorganized omni journal :D Your voice is so soothing and you're quite a lovely person, I feel, so now I'm hooked.

Your delivery and flow are wonderful, I hardly noticed it was 20 whole minutes. Great ideas!! I loved the many different tips and types of journals.

What cute journals! I've been bullet journaling for three months and am always looking at different methods and things I might like to try. You gave me an idea of a nice thing I could do with my journal. I can take all the tickets from past events that are just hiding in a drawer, put them into my journal, and write memories about them. I might even have photos I could paste in too. Thank you for your video!

Finally, there is a word for what I'm trying to do. Omni journal! Great video, so helpful.

I know this is an old video and you might never read my comments but anyway . . . I used the Dylusions journal a couple years ago for an “Omni” journal and I loved it. I’d like something like the Dylusions journal except with dots. I also love the Handbook journals because they come in so many sizes. Finally, I’ve found someone with my obsession for journals. I have so so so many that will never get used in my lifetime. Yesterday, I made 7 more of my own journals. Hahaha! Thanks for the reviews. I am a new subscriber and hope you make many new videos.

I've been drawing my entire life and it's always been a goal of mine to complete a whole journal with my sketches, drawings and thoughts, but because I'm a perfectionist I always give up as soon as I make a mistake. So the carefully chosen (and often very expensive) journals I pick up end up half written in and I forget about them completely. Hearing that tip your friend taught you, helped me take away the pressure of completing a journal! Again, thank you so so so much!

the journal from Barnes and noble is called a lokta plant journal. I recently purchased one and love it! it takes water colors pretty well since it isn't made out of trees. I recommend it for omni journaling if you want to have an every day journal and sketchbook

Thank you for this video. You're very talented, gifted. I also collect journals and particularly fond of amalfi paper in my journals. I'm in the process of getting things organized and trying to find my planner peace and journaling peace (if there's such one since my taste could change depending on the season). Right now, I have a planner that is starting to cost a lot of money d/t sticker kits I've been seeing online and at the same time, becoming a waste of my time because I've been spending a lot of time making it pretty with stickers. Then, I have a ton of journals from Peter Pauper Press which paper I love because of its thickness, yet I hate because it is lined; other journals with awesome italian paper from Epica. I've been thinking of maybe combining all my journals into one but not sure if it'll work for my purposes: journals for spirituality; goals, wishes and gratitudes; people/angels; travel memoirs; random / sorting process; etc. Am currently trying Chic Sparrow's TN to simplify my planning needs and random journaling, but I may still keep those major ones separate since I only write on them whenever I feel like it. I will definitely incorporate my sketching / doodling / watercolor attempts on my journaling to make it more interesting. Thank you for posting. I hope you continue to do so.

I'm doing an omni journal for 2020. I did a regular bullet journal last year and ended up with additional notebooks and journals. So for 2020 I'm moving into a Filofax. I had issues keeping things in nice clear sections in my regular journal, with a Filofax I can take out spreads that aren't working or rearrange spreads with ease. Hopefully it'll be a good fit for me.

I loved the one with the handmade paper :) It reminded me of my highschool days when we used to make our own paper in my arts class :3

Oh well... I wish I would be able to combine my bullet journal, sketchbook and worldbuilding books into one. (I counted them. There are 3 books half or nearly filled and 4 almost half filled. I will drown in paper.) But I would fill one book in a month and had to search forever to find a particular information again.

It's funny to me how all these new names are coming out for a fad many of us got into in 2007 during the "art journal" craze. Whatever you call them, I will never stop having one. 🌙

I have no idea how I got here, but cool journals! And not to sound like a spokesperson for Moleskine, but they do sell a "sketchbook" variety of their journal that has much thicker paper that doesn't "ghost" or bleed through as badly as the standard variety journal does. Right now I'm actually waiting on a Moleskine journal marketed specifically for use with watercolors, can't wait to test it out.

this video was very interesting and informative! What I liked most qas when you said you had about 8 miollion and you really have a lot, not like these people that say they have soo many and are so obsessed with something and literally have like 3 of it😂😍 And I always leave the first page of a notebook blank, cause it takes the pressure of me^^

I have 5 or 6 journals from locket size to 5 x 7 size. I have a addiction for little books, tiny things (like salt spoons), any jewelry that opens (poison ring, locket ect...) I also love ink wells and glass quills . I have 2 or 3 glass quills with ink and 1 peacock feather with a metal tip. I am not a writter. I love to read but my imagination leans toward making cool jewelry pieces or beaded bouquets. I respect people who just love to write and can do so.

Hey - these are really pretty! Not seen anyone do anything like this before, was a pleasure to watch. :) Have you thought about doing ASMR videos? In case you don't know it, ASMR is "hearing therapy" that helps people relax and calm down - it even helps anxiety, depression and insomnia. Basically people doing ASMR videos on youtube speak softly and talk/do projects and enhance the tiny sounds of for instance paper, pencils, sand or many other sounds! ASMR really helped me and I instantly thought you voice was very soothing :) Furthermore it's really interesting to listen to what you're telling, so very win-win!

I’m also a journal lover but I mostly write in mine. Have you ever tried Zentangle? It’s very relaxing and quite beautiful.

I've been using HP Premium 32 for a while now. I found a website that lets me print dot grids at different sizes and I found I like a small grid for bujo stuff and a larger grid for writing, taking notes, etc. And then I can keep pages blank for drawing. I use a binder to keep the dot paper in but I mean it's such a modular system, I actually keep my old bujo pages in a little folder and I figure you could make it work for you in probably more ways than I could imagine.

The handmade paper journal 17:20, you've shown are made of Nepalese Lokta paper. Lokta paper's durability and resistance to tearing, humidity, insects and mildew have traditionally made lokta paper the preferred choice for the recording of official government records and sacred religious texts. Also the cover I believe is of organic hemp fabric.

The Dylusions journal is tied in, not glued, so most people rip out the pages to work on them and then washi them back in. The journal is made for mixed media art, so it is fabulous!

It looks like the sharpie on the purple with intricate designs soaked through.

Very nice collection of journals you've got there! I just have a plain, lined composition notebook that I use as a bullet journal(-ish). Would love to have some unique journals like you do, but I'd have nothing interesting and cool to fill them with, so my composition notebook with a puppy on the cover will do!

Love the perfect clarity of your speaking voice, and BEST. USERNAME. EVER. I just don't understand why the more clearly I can see bled-through writing from the other side of the page, the better you say the paper did in the ghosting test. Like at 9:11 you're saying "it did not ghost at all," and while it's true that I can't see "Practice makes perfect" ghosted, "Copic" and "Sharpie" are almost as clear on the reverse side as if you'd written them there. So I'm not clear on your standards for judging ghosting. Doesn't really matter in the end because I'm not a journal fanatic. Just thought that point might be a little confusing to others as well. Thanks!

Glad I'm not the only one who "omni journals" (didn't know there was a term for it) I am addicted to notebooks and journals- and I made my addiction worse once I started binding my own books as a hobby

I'm using a Miguel Ruiz I think I want to us a different book for my next one. Don't want to buy online or spend a lot the next time. Not as thick too. Would live blank, grid. I never tried dotted. Wish I was more creative used to be long ago but did not keep up over years and lost it. Enjoyed your video.

i've been doing this for years but never knewa specific name for it! i did want to ask: which soft cover journal would you suggest for this style perticulary with copics? or which kind/brand off paper if i would make one myself? i do like the paper to be more on the soft side and not too stiff. any tips? thank you for the video, i subscribed :D
