I think part of why this chapter felt so grindy to you is because you missed a lot of the substance. A lot of this chapter's soul is in exploration and conversations with characters between matches. There's a lot to find that you missed by always going for the next match each time. The game dropped a lot of hints to go out and explore by having King K talk about stuff going on, like the hot dog stand. That said, nothing was wrong with how you played! Everyone's experience is different by design, and you obviously still hit all the major story beats. Everything else is optional-it just fleshes out and adds more depth to the chapter.
Thus concludes my vieweing of Pikmin: Olimarlie's First Encounter It was been a fun watch, I'm looking forward to the sequel. I think you did really well with the final boss; for an older game which seems to have a lot of jank, your perseverance and ability to not burst out in range was inspiring. I think I'll buy Pikmin 1, for the switch though, when I can. Thank you for this vod series, its given me entertainment for a considerable number of hours which has been lovely :)
I swear you give me good luck. I just started watching your stream today and within the first hour, i found a shiny cubchoo and shiny popplio, full odds. Giess ill be watching ur streams whenever im shiny hunting now. 😁
Whenever I hear people complain about the remake, I think of this chapter, because they took the worst part of the original and made it, well, not terrible.
I actually liked the general white quest, so funny like yeah a lot of us struggled as a kid because we wouldn’t read most of it but as an adult now reading everything it’s funny and wouldn’t mind doing it without the fast travel if they didn’t have it in the remake. Also when she was talking to Jolene about wanting to fight again then immediately dipped was HILARIOUS 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Without spoiling, I recommend doing two of the trouble center requests. One is from an anonymous requester. The other is from Jolene. Personally, I find the reward for doing the anonymous trouble completely worth it.
I didn’t see this on-stream and I can only predict she absolutely hated this part as most do lolol EDIT: Uhh.. wow, yeah, I guess this is a testament to how needed the remake changes were. She didn’t seem to mind at all, it even seemed like she found genuine humor and charm in it all despite not liking Chapter 2’s maneuvering around. I guess this really is a new and improved Chapter 7
I think it's well done and it should be a difficult but also satisfying experience to build the first PC, keep it up Arlie ✌️👍 btw, I didn't expect you to support the Pittsburgh Steelers 😮👀
It’s kind of a worthless reward but doing those quests would take a lot of extra time and I think she just wants to focus on the main story as so I did the very first time I played
The worst I ever see are the ones simply pointing out that she forgot about the upgrades, and yeah, I mentioned it a couple of times myself. Though I did put in the effort to be as nice about it as possible.
Well played. First thing I did after clearing chapter 6... racking up the pinata tokens to obtain dozens of power rush badges and FOUR money money badges, which is important to making danger mario work. I made short work of magnus von grapple 2.0, the shadow sirens, and the shadow queen. I was able to max out the damage output to 99, and equipped flower saver and FP drain to get back the FP spent for using multi bounce.
The funny thing is, during that whole thing about Brothership, even though I'm still super stoked just to finally get a new game, and it looks like a ton of fun, I'm kinda half-and-half on the art style too. I'm glad they're updating the look for the console as I feel like the 3DS look would probably look a little awkward on a TV screen (Even though I primarily use handheld mode) but something about the textures does remind me a bit of current Pokemon, where despite having the 3DS look, it somehow looks less impressive than it did on the 3DS. Also, wow, you're really good at timing that new jump attack. I'm on my second playthrough of the remake and I still struggle with that one.
I appreciate you covering this series even though it probably doesn't get a lot of views. pikmin 1 is pretty frustrating even on the switch and that version is much, much easier than the gamecube version so congratulations on beating the game, should be proud of yourself. if you choose to revisit the series you should play pikmin 1 on switch, it has a bunch of quality of life improvements. biggest one is that you can swap between pikmin types while carrying them. that's useful for the entire game but I think it solves your biggest problem with the final boss. it can still feel frustrating and unfair, but there are nowhere near as many interruptions with constantly having to dismiss your squad and get the right pikmin to join you and that makes it so much less of a fucking slog. it would also be cool to see you revisit pikmin 3 deluxe. it was interesting you said that was your least favorite since it was your first one. it might be different if you returned now that you're a seasoned pikmin player. even if you chose hard difficulty it would probably still be a relaxing cakewalk compared to pikmin 1. it's fine if you don't want to play pikmin 2 again but did you ever finish the post game for pikmin 4? I don't remember anyway thanks for the videos!
Something interesting I noticed is that Crump’s theme is actually different when he fights you in Chapter 5, as it’s been more “pirate-afied”. This wasn’t a thing in the OG paper Mario, so hearing crump have another variation of his theme is very cool!
Not gonna lie, I was really hoping after all the boos appeared, you would stick around in the area long enough for the optional mini-boss fight to start. On a side note, it is hilarious how stupid the party is in the second part of this chapter. Doopliss doesn't even act like Mario, like, at all, and they all fall for it.
If you haven't realized it yet, the robed individual who handed Peach the chest was Beldam in disguise. You wouldn't have known if you played the original game on GameCube, but thanks to the voice lines in dialogue, you can tell it's her now
There was one thing kinda going through my head after you returned to Rogueport and started doing everything except for this, did you forget what the Shine Sprites were for? Because you didn't upgrade anyone this whole time.
