A channel that covers exclusively city pop songs is just what I needed! ❤️ Love this stuff, and your reactions are great, love how you feel the music… that’s how it should be. I have some recommendations as well! Love Space and Daydream, both by Tatsuro Yamashita. They have killer basslines, you may have heard them already though. Music Train is another pretty unknown Tatsuro song, but the full version isn’t even on RU-vid, only Apple music, so not sure if that’d be possible, but I think it’s my favorite of his. Cupid, Aitsu wa Brown Shoes, and Ai Wa Energy all by Miki Matsubara are really good and underrated. The chorus in Cupid makes me ascend every time Sweet Love by Junko Ohashi feels like the musical equivalent of melting. It’s amazing. BRING ME TO THE DANCENIGHT and STAY BY ME by Anri are just beautiful. DANCENIGHT is super groovy and STAY BY ME is just so emotional. I think you’ll like them if you like Anri’s other stuff. Older Girl by 1986 Omega Tribe has a really cool retro feel, more so than other city pop songs, and it’s really cool to listen to. If you see this, I really love your stuff, keep it up. Hope you’ll at least listen to one of these in the future!

I won't lie Tatsuro Yamashita is the reason I got into City Pop so I've pretty much gone through his whole discography at this point 😅 I'll defo make note of the other suggestions. I'm currently mid changing jobs so that's why I haven't posted in a bit but back soon!
This singer might have be 高橋玲子 instead of 高橋理惠子 Totally the same pronunciation, but written differently.. One is a pop singer, one is an actress Just in case people try to look for it and get a different result
Of course, RU-vid has played a significant role in the overseas popularity of City Pop. However, I feel that another reason lies in the audio systems abroad, which often emphasize bass more than in Japan. This accentuation suits the driving feel of many City Pop songs, making them resonate well.

I first came across this album by Anri 40 years ago and have been listening to it ever since. It was produced by Toshiki Kadomatsu, who is still active today. Tomohito Aoki, a bassist whom I respect, plays on it.
One of the best EPO song, pure City Pop ❤❤❤ A short carrier, in the end of her 80's she has changed hert style compared to City Pop, very interesting, more in adequacy as her lifestyle. An underrated artist, but her short discography is gogeous ❤❤❤❤
