Maybe you mentioned this but where did you buy the actuator? I always use rock auto to buy parts but they don't carry it. And thanks for the video!!

All this you added a vacuum cleaner attachment to your clippers not actually a flow because of flowy had a lot of different links I'm going to have to look at the real flow being designed when myself I guess yes it'll probably made out of cardboard at first but your ideal does keep things clean and that's what you were going for

Very good video, except for a few clarifications, as I just did this repair this morning (5/21/24) and it took about 1-1/2 hours with 2 persons: 1) Make sure your window is in the up position before you begin; 2) Be sure you have Japanese metric #3 Phillips head screw drivers as the American versions do not fit correctly in the screw heads; and 3) MOST IMPORTANTLY, all the videos about this repair skip over the difficulty of removing the 3 screws that hold the door latch in place. YOU MUST USE A IMPACT SCREW DRIVER WITH THE CORRECT BIT and even then, you may strip the screws! Use some kind of "liquid wrench" on these screws before even starting. We used an old time manual impact screw driver with a mallet and it took sometime to get the screws loose and out. We even had to use a small torch to heat up the screws to get them to loosen up enough to remove. Finally, be sure to use official Honda parts as the aftermarket stuff (from China) is crap and will not last long, if at all. Also be sure to include the foam tape in your parts list as you will NOT be able to reuse the existing foam on the old assembly. Good luck. It is worth the effort as your local Honda dealer will charge you $1,200-1,800 for this repair. The parts from Honda are about $330 as of May 2024.

Did you go OEM or aftermarket on the replacement actuator?
@jebus914
@jebus914 Месяц назад
I went to go look if the OEM part has weatherstripping and it also does not. Additionally, the replacement Honda part is made in China, not Japan. Not sure if OEM is worth 13x the expense. Hoping the one I ordered solves my door lock issues.

Great video, very informative,helped me when I changed mine. I agree, DO NOT FLUSH OUT your trans (esp. on cars with higher miles, 100k+). And agree, all trans repair places will do is drain half the fluid & refill. In older days, trans repair shops would, drain, remove pan, replace filter & reinstall pan with new gasket, no more. One helpful hint I can pass along is to use a breaker bar (or longer socket wrench handle) with your socket when loosening the drain bolt, as they can be quite hard to loosen if it has been awhile since last removed. Plus, if doing this while on the ground, under your car, you dont have enough room to get enough leverage on the bolt to loosen it. Using a longer handle makes it 100% easier. You can move the World with the right leverage!!

Hopefully you decide to go from 5w 20 to 5w 30 . The 5.4 likes the 30 better and helps with the timing chain and cam phasers.

Video does not show taking off the valve and also talking about where things actually leak. It could be the connections on the water lines and not on the valve as was the case with mine. Also, find someone or something to hold the camera so you can use two hands.

Thanks for posting this. I broke my finger yesterday I have tried everything. The fire department and urgent care have both refused to help me. I assume I could have made it work but you have some good tips here. My wedding band is stainless steel of course. Wish me luck boys

How did it go?
@DJ_Narcan
@DJ_Narcan 4 месяца назад
@@KnightoftheLord1 it worked perfectly. My wife helped. We took a cardboard type emery board and wet it really well then shoved it under the ring (my finger was extremely swollen) We already had several kits of dremel tips so we used the one rated for stainless steel. I used an ice cube to cool the ring off, it only got super hot a couple times. We had to make two cuts but we did it in less than an hour. It was way easier and less painful than I expected. I'm still astonished that the fire department refused to help me but it worked out fine. I'm convinced this method would work with a dremel tip that's not intended to cut steel, it will probably just take longer
@KnightoftheLord1
@KnightoftheLord1 4 месяца назад
@@DJ_Narcan Glad you managed it. :) You'd think the emergency services would cut it off for you if you had a broken finger? Sucks that they didn't. Maybe a softer metal for the next ring like gold or silver would be safer in case you need to cut it off again?

Not a bad implementation. I mean the idea is low hanging fruit. Anyone who's cut hair in their bathroom has thought about something like this. When I was a kid my mom would have me hold the vacuum and follow her with the clippers when she cut my hair. But I wouldn't call this Flowbee 2.0. The flowy works a lot different and has a system for cutting different hairstyles. While this is standard hair clippers The feature you added is that you don't have to spend as much time cleaning up. But I believe the way you have designed the attachment if you look at how the flowbee works and what it does different you could implement it

I think you got pretty lucky that the augers didn’t seize to the shaft. I see many that way, then it doesn’t matter what you use in place of a shear pin. it also adds a couple hours to this project.

This is by far the best and most descriptive video on making this replacement happen. I just finished mine outside in 38 degree weather. The door handle connecting rod was the biggest issue for me. I needed to use needlenose pliers to pop the rod out through the hole on the handle.

Appreciate your video, but I would have liked to have seen the full process without a lot of things being edited out, even if the the video was much longer. It's the small things that matter to me as a DIY'r, not just the highlights and main points, and if you show the whole process without many cuts, we can see what we need to see (such as replacing the toilet flange, etc.). It's especially useful to see difficulties and problems with the process that you might have had. Please don't sanitize your videos like most people do. Thanks.

Okay, so, the issue here is that one of the sensors can't tell if its door is locked. The sensor must be part of the lock actuator unit. I'm not sure why I presumed it to be the drivers door at first aside from the fact that it would be the most worn out (statistically). After pulling some fuses (which I'll detail in the follow-up video) I kept thinking I'd licked it but then the relocking sound would creep back in. Last night I heard it start up again when it was only the driver side doors that were active. Since I already have the replacement (and it's only $40) I'll just install it and see if that solves it. If not then... Hmmm... not sure but I'll probably wind up replacing all 5 of them. That's cheaper than having it inspected by Honda if I presume my time to be worth nothing ;-)

Interesting that there are not many sellers or options beyond the flowbee. One way to easily DIY is to get one of those mini travel clippers (cylindrical) and insert it into the end of a vacuum tube.
