G'day and welcome to my channel on Salesforce Marketing Cloud! On this channel you'll find helpful tips and tricks to improve the way you use Marketing Cloud. Be sure to let me know if you find my videos useful, and use the comments to share any topics you would like me to cover!
The information I share on this channel is based on my own personal career experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and is not representative or endorsed by Salesforce.
Thanks Cameron! This is very helpful. Is it possible to apply this same menthod to create a new lead instead of a case? I’ve used the create salesforce object function to create leads before but can’t seem to get it to work with ssjs.
Hello Cam, several of your videos have been immensely helpful to myself and others on my team, and I've been telling everyone I know about your Chrome extension. That's probably saved me hours and hours! Thank YOU CAM! from Omaha, Nebraska.
I don't understand how the LEFT JOIN is pulling in records from the Customers table when they are not present in the EventReminder table. The CustomerID on both tables need to match, right? Isn't that what the ON clause is looking for? The same exact CustomerID value in *both* tables? If they exist in only one of the tables, how is there an equality match?
LEFT JOIN takes all records from the Customers table and only the records in the EventReminder that match the ON clause. What you are describing is rather an INNER JOIN
I thought the API had to go through the Transactional API entry? Is there a reason why the Transactional Send option would or wouldn’t be a better option than using the API entry in a regular multisend journey? You don’t explain in this series.
Hey, first at all: many thanks for this tool. This is really like the most helpful tool to navigate SFMC! :D How exactly did you handle authorization? Is the token somehow obtained from the active user session?
Dear Cameron, Many thanks on this amazing tool! Searching for DE can be so time-consuming! I am using Version v 0.4.2. In my case, I have a Marketing cloud with multiple Salesforce orgs. What I have noticed is that the companion finds only the DEs in the local org/Marketing cloud ( I hope I am using the right terminology) but not the shared DEs from other orgs. have I missed any setting? Is it designed this way?
Yes you can; however cloud page impressions (views) are counted towards usage; so you need to be careful about publicly hosting/referencing cloud pages.
@Cam, thanks for this, but how can I find the same if I have multiple Business Units? To be honest, I could find one folder using the above illustrated method, but I dint find the DE what I was searching for? Thanks in advance.
It is a really nice video. The way you explain each and everything is really helping me to write a AMPscript code and creating an email. Thank You so much Cameron...
Cameron, i have a doubt. I have a data extension which records all subscribers key. and is linked in contact design. normally this data extension when a contact is on, means it belongs to an attribute. In journey builder, when using the decision split, i normaly select the subscriber key in journey data and put compare attribute, and then go to contact data and select the subscribert key, i understand this is correct, am i? Or should I start selecting the contact data and puting equal to subscribert key in journey data (DE)?
Nice video Cameron. In the same script could you please explain, how can we use multiple values for the same field to filter. E.G: Event is DE, Event_Type is field, this field is having multiple values(A,B,C,D,E) I have to only look for(A,B,C,D).
Hello, Cameron! Great videos you have here. Thank you for your content. I have a question: 1) What is the best way to inject leads from a landing page configured in Marketing Cloud to CRM Leads? Not hourly, must be instantly. I am a Salesforce Developer. I know almost nothing about Marketing Cloud yet (learing im process).
Thank you!! What if a person globally unsubscribes while they are making their way through a journey in journeybuilder? Will they be instantly removed or do they still go through a multistep/multi-email journey once they are in?
Thanks Cam! Couple of questions - 1. if 30 fields is not sufficient for your business, what do you recommend to make the data more manageable? An MCV for our marketing team would require over 100 fields for day-to-day segmenting requirements. 2. What are your thoughts on different MCVs for different customer types if the required data points are different enough? i.e. prospective student leads without applications vs leads with applications.
Day to day segmentation with >100 fields sounds like a very unique use case; which your 2nd question answers perfectly: Yes - Multiple MCVs is often the best solution for multiple audiences (For EDU, that could be Student/Parent Prospects, Enrolled Students, Alumni, Staff/tutors, donors). If your segmentation needs are VERY different for each audience; multiple MCVs will keep your data lean and relevant. “Uni-YearGraduated” is very useful for Alumni, but irrelevant for Student Prospects.
Very insightful, always love watching your videos. Just curious... what program/application are you utilizing to illustrate the visuals for us for the data flows? (2:29-9:24)
Hi Cameron, do you have a video on how to eject a subscriber from a journey once you can no longer manually do this with the Health button after 30 days?
Hi Cameron, this looks great :) have not tried it yet, so want to ask if it is capable of showing where a SF field is used, e.g. field from a syncronized DE in a query? Thx for all the great content you have here on RU-vid.
