I'm thinking of buying this case but im trying to find an ITX motherboard that doesn't have any sort of long term power limit on it, do you know of any? im a video editor so i cannot be having that.
thank you for this i accidently broke mine when i was taking the graphic card out, i forgot there was a clip on it and i was so worried because my bf repeatedly told me to be extremely careful with the motherboard and graphic card. when i told him, he was so disappointed.
I've got the ice version of this board.. waiting on the 9600X to come out before i can build my PC :) .. this one turned out good from the looks of it.
I had to x2 this video for speed , nonetheless very informative , I'm sold no LianLi (trying to avoid as much Chinese built products - forced labour - not due to the chinese being Chinese) & the noted popups are very handy in avoiding any issues - appreciate your time
@@ExitOnTheInside I usually recommend people do that. There are some early videos that I even uploaded at 5x speed. These are meant to be informative and confidence building, but not reviews or sales pitches.
videos like this gives confidence to first time builders building with this exact same case and similar large-size components like ATX PSU. A lot of thanks!
For sure, this is generally what happens when a case tries to do too much. If the designers embraced mATX as a kind of large itx, and designed cases to be small, I think the cases would make more sense as options. But, every time a manufacturer designs an mATX case or ITX case to have all the capabilities of a full-size system, then the charm and advantages are lost.
Skill issue. (jk, great video) Build in this case two days ago, the black variant. ATX PSU top most front, 2.5 slot GPU and re-used NH-D9L (will opt for Fuma 3 later too, great choice). 1x NF-P12 at the rear, and 1x NF-P12 at the top corner above the CPU cooler. 1x NF-A12x15 under the GPU. It took around 3-4ish hours for me to experiment with and find a solution on how to cable manage. It involed lots and lots of velcro straps and zip ties. Hope in the next version they sacrifice CPU cooler max height a bit for cable routing.
In my opinion I think the Jonsbo z20 is easier to build in this case seems a bit unfinished. It doesn’t has a panel to hide the psu and the cable management is god awful
I understand. If what you're looking for is an over the top announcer to sell you a computer case and entertain you, this probably isn't the right video for you.
Hi Chill Builds! I'm interested on this case to be a replacement of my gaming laptop. How much does it weight? And how portable the size is? I know it will be not the same as carry a laptop, but I prefer a tiny desktop build instead. Thanks!
The best way to find out is not to accept my guess, but to check the Fractal page for this case and the Wraith Prism specs and see if it'll fit that way.
Thank you very much! I finally have Bluetooth back. I had issues for over 3 years with a board from 2018. Sometimes Bluetooth worked, but then after tightening on the back at the I/O shield, both WiFi and Bluetooth were gone. I thought I had to buy a new motherboard. Your video is underrated and should have reached me sooner!
this review is thorough, covered all bases, I am a returning PC builder, havent built anything from the Pentium III days in mid school. I am reacquainted with the current market now, currently looking at buiilding around this case or the cool master 300L. Thanks for the video, subscribed
Haha! 20 year old shorts is impressive. I think the Z20 and A3 are probably the most popular mATX cases right now, yet there is no comparison anywhere. Hoping you can do one for us!
Hmm. I'll have to think about that more. I prefer people look at the cases each for its own merits and consider it based on each person's needs. That's why I try to be minimally opinionated during the build and unbuild.
I think the glass side would look a lot better if I had used RGB components. That's the nature of the glass panels. They really do just look reflective and bad without a light from the inside.
I haven't tried it, so this is just a guess: I think it would be easier to have a little extra cable slack, but worse if you have a gigantic GPU. You have to make sure both would fit together. Some combinations of large GPU and ATX PSU are incompatible.
Thank you for the video, I have the same problem on my B650 E E Strix. Can you tell me the thickness of the pads that you used to replace the original ones?
@@dorinsec3618 I have a completely different board so I can't say that these will work for you. I used thermal right 1.5mm. Your board might need something else.
I actually liked the look of this case as it was compact for atx so many cases are geared to high end rads and hardware. When most of us use mid range air cooled cases.
the awkward part is putting a tempered glass on a case designed to be moved often. It should have came with an alternative solid side panel (steel, aluminum or acrylic).
I wonder about that. My guess is that their real intend is that the computer be reasonably easy to move sometimes because you're right, it's nonsensical to have thin sheets of edge to edge tempered glass on a desktop made to be hauled around.
There is no problem with this case. It's made for itx motherboards so the last pcie slot shouldn't even be there. There are some other reasons why I personally think that putting matx mb is also a bad idea. You need to choose mb very very carefully when building in this case.
Hi. I am having a Noctua nh-d15 and i want to upgrade to am5 system. May you let me know if the second fan can fit at the same height of the 150mm fan you installed. Are the RAM completely under the cpu fin stack or it a little bit farther and hit the second 150mm fan. My case is only 165mm depth, so your answer is a big help. Thank you
@@MrArrakis9 yeah. The budget does not have new equipment in it right now though. You're right about the jello effect. I thought it was funny in the one clip outdoors so I left it in. Thanks for the comment.
One of the main selling points for this case for me is the size of 20l. The original Lian Li DAN Cases A3-mATX was supposed to be much smaller in volume. So the Z20 seems to be the only mainstream option for a mATX case with 240mm AiO support.
Its only 2L bigger than the nr200p, making it a decently low profile system, but without all the itx tax making it insanely good price to performance. Not to mention the design awesome
