dude this is crazy i have the same problem i just finished changing my pads and rotors. I have a 2020 GMC sierra 1500 drivers side rear inside pad was at the metal and out side was at like 60%. It was the same for the right side too i only have 26,000 miles. There should be a recall because this to me is a manufacture defect.
If you are only draining the ATF from the oil pan it is not an oil change. Much unlike the engine, in which all of the oil drains away from all of the parts into the pan, the transmission does not. The transmission holds most of it's oil in the torque converter and valve body. This is only a 1/3 oil change.
I dont like the dash. It seems they have eliminated storage and no room for switches. I dont like the door handles in the middle. How are you going to put an enclosure on it? Also it seems like a lot of places on the door for mud to get in. It will be hard to clean. The tires still do not even come close for east coast riding...Can you put 35s on it without modifying the A- arms?
To put 35s you Would have to clutch it and you would loose a lot of power. I would recommend getting one of the turbo models if you wanted to go that big of tire I might go with 32s in the future. I also didn’t like the dash at first with the center display but it grew on me and now I like it. Also the tires are a lot better than the ones from the previous RZRs and compared to the base model. And the chassis does feel a lot stiffer then the previous model as advertised. As for the door handles you do have to get an exterior handle installed when adding an enclosure which makes it better but I don’t like the idea of cutting into the door it seems cheap. I do like that they are full doors they seal better than the previous model and aren’t any harder to clean. Over all I do like it and it’s been a great machine. Thanks for the comment.
There is a little pump called transmission fluid/oil pump with like an 1/4 inch hose - you can buy one and use it. I was so mad on Nissan when I found water there that I broke that styrofoam undreamt to remove it. Don’t do it - it’s like a ~$100😮
Check J.A.P.S video on rear brake change he noticed his inside clip was messed up and the spring back action was not working. I would imagine a lot of these trucks are like that and that’s why the inside pad is wearing so soon. Just a theory though. Great video.
I changed front pads and RF pad sensor wire on a 2022 1500 3.0L. Now the Brake, ABS, Traction Control, and Engine lights all came on. The brake pedal has to be pushed hard for it to stop, like a power booster went out. And it's in "limp mode" and will not drive over 43mph! The SnapOn scan tool says must disconnect the Brake Fluid Reservoir Sensor Wire to do a six step sequence for automated bleed. You can barely see it let alone touch it. I scanned it and tried erasing all the codes but that still didn't help. Do you have any ideas how to get the brake pedal back to normal, take it out of limp mode and erase all the lights on the dash?
Hey bub ... just changed my rotors and pads last night .. unaware of the break service mode on these (mine is a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 3.0L Diesel) - now it's throwing all of these signs you stated & it won't travel faster than 43MPH... did you find a solution to this problem? I hear clearing all coded with a scanner can fix it, but I haven't had a chance to try that until later tonight... any tips would be greatly appreciated
@@AngelaMiller-oi8ur I tried using a SnapOn scanner and it did not resolve any of the issues. It was late and unplugged the battery and left it overnight. The next day I hooked up the battery and all codes were gone, no warning lights, and pedal was fine.
A few comments. By partially removing the intake manifold and not cleaning the mating surfaces or replacing the gaskets, you're asking for an intake manifold leak, as well as for debris to fall into the intake ports or onto the mating surface. You should completely remove the intake manifold, clean the mating surfaces and replace the gaskets. Also, you should prime the oil system after replacing the oil filter housing. You do that by disconnecting the injectors and the coils, removing the spark plugs and turning over the motor. I think you're supposed to do that three times or until the oil light goes off. That way, you know the engine will have oil when it starts for the first time. Finally, to BMW, after decades of producing shitty oil filter housing gaskets, maybe it's time to fire the engineering department.
I just never changed strut before I call it shock but has to be fixed save alot money fixing everything myself but his seem to easy mines going be a rust nightmare bought everything replacing whole front end screws it
@@AngelaMiller-oi8ur had to change the caliper. but youll probably have to take it to a shop after that. changing the caliper allowed me to drive it, but that brake still wasnt working so the truck limited my speed to 43mph cuz i only had 3 brakes. shop had to hook it up to a computer. they only charged me $200 which aint bad. they also bled that brake for me for that $200 gotta wonder how many shop hours these diks have wracked up due this electronic brake sht. just about anyone with a truck is use to changing their own brakes
I do have a question. Do you need to put your truck in “brake service mode” to do the front brakes or just the rear? I must be lucky. 2020 Silverado 84,000 miles and I am just getting ready to change the brakes now, for the first time. I bought the truck with 7 miles on it. All of them wore evenly. Great video helped a lot!
worked like a charm...had a bunch of dash lights come on after though. Used OBDII scanner to clear and didn't work at first...then messed with some settings and managed to clear the code with ignition on but engine off mode. Now running like normal again
I just watched another video about changing pads and his inside (where the wear sensor is) was much more wore like yours. His was actually wore right down but outside looked exceptional, weird.
Engine noise!!! I guess it’s expected since it’s a high Rpm machine. Heck it’s pulling 5000-5500 rpm’s at 20 mph. Everyone that drives it , says something about it, like it needs another gear, it’s loud, is something wrong with it, we can’t even hear the stereo over it. I got some sound dampening material coming. Maybe that will helpHopefully that will help.
Life saver with this brake service mode.. thnax!! My insides were completely gone while the outsides looked brand new.. curious what would cause that?? Anyway.. thanx so much for your help!! Niagara falls Canada here in my 2019 with only 33,000 kms!!
I paid exactly 300 in Winston NC to empty and fill, I took it directly to a Nissan dealer to be sure, but it turns out they didn't change the filters, I was disappointed and expected the service to be complete but no, I don't know if this is a good thing Have the filters not been changed?
Awesome video man All the in and outs for anyone with a Silverado no matter the engine the 2.7l,3.0l the 5.3l & 6.2l easy job without the dealer telling you that $800 is owed for a brake job 😅
