Always stop drill the end of a crack to stop it from spreading further. When painting plastic, using an adhesion promotor will do wonders for longevity.
I wanna do a jte swap on something. I'm in hawaii so finding chassis is hard and a conversion is a pain mechanic by trade but don't now how to weld. Turbo flanges motor mount shit like that going be costly
Man this does not help me at all I was looking to see if you would film the video showing you removing the transmission. Did you use a transmission cradle on the floor jack to drop the transmission or just a floor jack alone?
Yo Ik it’s been a few years since the install😅 but what screws did you use to set the wires to the resistors ? But great tutorial I just got my EDM tail lights and about to throw them on and any problems with the tail lights after this whole time ?
This method will last about 2 to 6 months. I recommend do this method THEN spray 2k clear coat on it, it will last for years. You can buy it on eBay for about 26 bucks a spray bottle.
Wanna trade? I can send you my pair of all red usa tail lights if you send me your edm lights. Mine are super clean with no scratches or cracks. Are yours the same?
not crazy about the act2600.. does not disengage well and is hard on the clutch pedal assembly and very touchy to get it working right....I have the same disc with the SB x pressure plate very nice so far ...The act 2600 w/street disc held 490lbs torque (mustang dyno) for about 5000 miles.. Now pushing 550 torque on E85 so we will see if SB can do it.
You messed up, the ACT 2600 only holds 415tq now if you went with the full South Bend Clutch kit, torque rating is 460tq. Not to mention a hard pedal for no reason and in the results of poor engagement issues. When you read or hear DSM guys talk about using an "extend rod" for the slave cylinder, shimming the pivot ball for more leverage that's all because of ACT. The 2100 and 2600 clutch disc are the same 🤷🏻♂️ACT decided oh let's put a heavy pressure plate and that should give more clamping force. I been a DSMer for 21 years, I've dealt with ACT for many years and I have to say the 2600 is trash. Not everything ACT make is no good, the flywheels are 👍🏻. But there are better clutch companies out now that are way better than ACT with a better pedal feel and no non sense of "extended rod" BS either. My brother's 1g Talon cranked walked a 6 bolt because of that terrible 2600 clutch, switched to the South Bend stage 3 Endurance and he loves it. I switched and never bought a ACT again, I don't mean to rant but it's just my take on ACT. You did good on the clutch disc and but not so good on the pressure plate.
If I had all the parts and a long weekend. It'd prolly be about 2 days worth of work, busting it out all day. Shops vary but I can see it being 3k+ for the labor
hey man, the video is very instructive and very helpful, i also have EDM taillights on my 99 Gs and did the wiring installation following the same procedures as you, also the 2 8ohm 100w resistors, but my lights ended up hyper flashing. With a tester I checked the base of the corner lights on both sides, and it receives power and flashing, but not the bulb, any idea why it hyper flashes.?? (the bulbs are fine)
Thanks for the words bro 🙏 for Carbon fiber it's a whole different ball game. If chunks of fiber are missing, there's unfortunately not much to do for a repair. BUT if you're wanting to repair the crack and give it strength, I would use a clear epoxy and do the same process in the video
