"if you're late, he'll flay you. Again." Underrated chilling line, any free will he had left was conditioned into terrified obedience by threat of pain
I'm trying to find out what happens if you continue to tell her no. she cannot join the camp. lol. Anyone tried pursuing that by any chance? The reason is, I'm starting an old school pure paladin, righteously zealot character out of a gold dragonborn. This type of Paladin would not run with a shar cleric. But I can't bring myself to kill shadowheart either lol. I've played through a few times so I know she is ultimately worth saving. small child kidnapped by an evil cult. But just meeting her, a paladin of light would not split hairs. He sees evil and good and no middle ground. Without knowing her background up front he would not even consider partying with her. That might be too far with the zealotry for 5e rules maybe lol. I know, Can't have everything. Just curious. And I'll find out eventually I'm sure if nobody replies. Cheers :) I'll come back here and let folks know if I find out first.
@Disguiserro wish they add it in as an extension to the story or character story quests. So much potential. I'm in act 3 now and lots of quest feels so rushed. Act 1 and 2 felt more personal.
For people saying that Shadowheart was Dark Urge in Early Access, you are wrong. Tav was separated from Dark Urge at one point in EA, but he was always Dark Urge because he is the main character. The dreams we had in EA also talk about our character, that he has bloodlust, etc. The voices talking in Shadowheart's head were probably a separate plot that was then abandoned (like many others, such as Raven Queen). Saying Shadowheart was Dark Urge makes no sense. Edit: As someone else said in the comments - voices were from the artefact.
What if everyone was supposed to be a Bhaalspawn? Think about it. The first two games had two Bhaalspawn characters. Baldur's Gate 3 might have been about these guys coming together from the start. Damn that would have been interesting. At any point, you might be shanked by someone, and whoever you neglect as a companion might try to kill you because there is nothing compelling them to act against Bhaal. And then Tav would make sense because he wouldn't be so different from everyone and effectively a faceless character
How strange it feels to see this after the official game was released, and that Cazador no longer has facial hair, lol I mean, i never played early access 😅
"What happens if you don't recruit Shadowheart?" - shows how they are recruiting Shadowheart. I left her standing outside the goblin camp and after raiding the grove she was gone. I've done every single quest and am now in Act II and was wondering where she went because I never saw her again. This did not answer my question...
She will pop up in various places anyway, or the artefact will just "fly" to you. There is nothing interesting, just the game forcing you to recruit her, or artefact flying to you. The purpose of this video was to show what will happen if you don't interact with her at all at the *beginning* of the game. That's it. That's all. She don't have any special dialogue about it anyway.
This was most likely a plot line where shadowheart was corrupted by the Absolute ? Seems with her fainting, you might have been able to save her. Always interesting to see what gets cut or not!
Well no. Dark Urge was the original player character. Shadowheart was either led there by the artefact (at this point, the Emperor was not yet revealed as a character. It's unclear if he was designed at all at the time), or she was another bhaalspawn and not a selunite.
Should've kept this scene. At least it makes senses why she's forced into our party rather than the current game where the devs keep teleporting her to locations all over act 1 so they could railroaded her to be in your party or you wouldn't be able to advance to the next act.
Gale was my romantic partner but ended up sacrificing himself in the end, so I wanted to see a happier ending. Him killing the elderbrain was the only way I knew to save Karlach, Orpheus and (maybe selfishly) myself. I never trusted or liked the Emperor and his actions in the end proved myself right. I was too close to Lae'zel to betray her and hated Vlaakith. I wish there was a happy ending for everyone.
I happily sacrificed Orpheus so that my Tav could have a fairytale ending with Gale. Maybe it’s not the best for the Githyanki people, but I figured Orpheus could go out as a martyr and Lae’zel would be happy to spend the rest of her days riding a badass dragon while trying to liberate her people from Vlaakith
