Have you read any of these books?🥰 ps I finished fable after editing this video 😭 basically I enjoyed it I was very entertained I just think the audiobook distanced me from what could’ve been an exciting and immersive reading experiences 😢 I thought it was an extremely unique storyline and I look forward to hopefully reading the second one!! I rated it 4 stars however I’m not sure if that could’ve been higher if I had read it physically 😅

Your opinion on the whole Chaol situation is so different from anyone else's I've heard. For me, I loved Chaol when they got together and he was my choice with the whole love triangle thing, but after the Nehemiah thing I realised that actually they would never have worked because she could never have been with someone from Adarlan, especially not someone who is and has been complicit in all of the kings actions. Chaol had his own journey that he needed to go through and he was never the right one for her because he absolutely could not accept her, even Dorian told him that if you love someone you love them completely and you dont get to choose which parts to love. He couldn't accept that she was Fae and that she had magic. Even though I think he was generally a good person, he did share some of the same views as the king especially regarding magic. He was a coward, which is the total opposite to what I thought about him in the first book and a half, and I thought that was really clever that SJM showed that people can me complicated, that you can be a good loyal person but does your loyalty to a friend mean anything when it leads to you standing idly by while thousands are suffering? because that was Chaos excuse for doing his job and not going against the king, his excuse was that he was doing it because he was loyal to Dorian who would eventually become king and change things. But is that really good enough? No, because it's cowardly and shows that he didn't want to take any action at all he just wanted to wait for his friend to do all the hard work. Also, she could have never been with anyone so ignorant -- both Chaol and Dorian never really thought about or considered what people outside of Adarlan were going through, or what the king was doing, or about the slaves until it impacted them. They never considered the way the slaves were treated until they went to Endovier and saw it, they never considered any of it until they fell in love with Celaena who's entire life and every aspect of her existence has been ruined and dictated by Adarlan and the king over and over and over again. They just lived happily and ignorantly in their own little bubble until she came along, and even when they began to care about it all they still did nothing about it. Dorian tried, but Chaol didn't. How could she be with someone like Chaol when her family and people were slaughtered by soldiers like him? and he still took pride in his work, even after knowing what his uniform represented and who and what he was working for. There were just so many layers and aspects to it that for me meant I understood why they could never work out. They had their moment, and it was lovely and simple, but that's all it was. A little bubble in time were they both got to be young and naive and simply be in love with out all the wider complications and responsibilities and politics getting in the way. It was a young love. But that bubble popped and the time passed when the real world came into it. I never hated Chaol, but I understand why some people do. For me, one of the things I like about SJM's writing and her characters is that nothing is simply black and white. Her characters are complicated and make a mixture of good and bad choices. So I rarely hate her characters (unless we are supposed to) because it's more complicated than that. I think overall, Chaol was a good person. But I also think he was a simple man who wanted a simple life, and he stumbled into something far bigger and he was terrified. I think he made a lot of excuses and had a lot of bigoted opinions and views. I think he was a coward that thought he was a lion until he was eventually called to action and realised he was a coward after all. I liked his character arc and development over the course of the rest of the series and I think he eventually became a better person, but he was never a bad guy or a villain. But he also wasn't right for Celaena in the long wrong, and she wasn't right for him either. They were doomed from the start, but I like that we dont see that until their relationship ends because we are just as caught up in the relationship and the romance as they are which is clever.

Honestly you have sort of changed my mind like I can understand now how cowardly he is idk why I never saw it??? I think I thought that it must be so hard to completely change your views in life when that’s been your life the entire time however now I’m thinking like you said he saw all the brutality and destruction and did nothing not until he met and fell in love with celaena. I’m not sure maybe it shows that it takes meeting people to change you for the better maybe that’s the only way you can change sometimes when you see something affect the ones you love? It makes it more personal and effects you more? However I completely agree that isn’t right and you know what’s right and wrong so there’s no excuses!! Buttttt I still love him 😭 I think he’s just a character that younger me would love I’m not sure 😂 also can I just say I could read your messages forever the way you write is so eloquent, sophisticated and poetic at times it was so entertaining to read!! Also I completely agree now, they weren’t right for each other I just think I was so obsessed with them when they were together that I had rose coloured glasses and couldn’t see anything wrong 😭😂 anyways thank you so much for responding in depth I had so much fun reading your comment!!!
I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed traitor witch. I literally had no self control when I stumbled upon this author and have already binged all of her completed works last year. I can't wait to hear about your opinion on the next 2 books!!! Also i have read "north and south" by Elizabeth Gaskell. I loved that book so much and it really reminded me of pride and prejudice. I'm so happy that you recommended a book by her. I'm excited to pick Mary Barton. ❤❤
@@bhakti-2004 stoppppp because the insane urge to binge all of her books now is overwhelming I think the first ones I wanna read is that vampire one where she has black hair I can’t remember what it’s called😭 anddddddd omg I finished all three ages as this is an old video!!! They are genuinely my fave book series now to exist you have no idea how insanely grateful I am to you!!! Like val????😭😭😭😭 I love them all so much I constantly still think about this book and the insane world!! I don’t think I’ve ever read a more solid and perfect relationship than with all of them😭 literally wanna give you the biggest hug for recommending them they’re all 6 stars😭 anddd SHUT UPPP OMG pride and prejudice is my fave book ever???? I need to read north and south so bad now😭😭 Mary Barton was good in the romance as it was entertaining and so sweet I do recommend however it’s more about class and just insane writing , it’s an amazing classic!!
@@Siobhancaitlynbooks I'm so giddy inside to hear you gush about these books. They are such a treasure to me. It literally feels like a crime that not a lot of people know about her books!!! If u are talking about daughter of Cain series then I must warn you that it's the darkest series by the author. I really loved it but do read it when you r in a mood for a dark series. Other than that I also want to tell u that if u do start reading north and south, you will have literally the most perfect adaptation for the book made by BBC in 2004, I think. To watch after. It's a mini series of 4 episodes which just feels perfect to watch with your friends at night.

And omg yessss I love book to movie adaptions thanks so much for that rec!! I literally died when I read pride and prejudice for the first time and then rewatched the Kiera knightly adaption straight after I literally cried within the first five seconds, I’m soooo gonna watch it straight after with this one too!!!
@@Siobhancaitlynbooks if I have to rank then I'll say the devil's one(her first series) is my favourite. Just because it reminds me so much of Harry potter(but make it adult). Here just rather than 4 houses there r seven of them. Then it's traitor witch trilogy and then the daughter of the Cain series. I haven't read the recent series because her cliffhangers can be insane. The fourth book is coming out next month if I'm not wrong. And I don't know how many books she's planning in that series but if it's 5 books then she'll probably complete it in the beginning of next year. The min that releases I'm cancelling all my plans and binging the series.

I always love hearing about more mermaid/pirate books to add to my Wishlist. This series was one of my favorites when I was younger so it's been a few years since I read it, but I remember loving Wake by Amanda Hocking and I couldn't stop reading the books in the series

I have an update!!! Gosh. Thank you so much dude!!!!!! I just completed Captive of the horde king. I literally could not stop reading. Finished the book in one sitting. I'm OBSESSED. It didn't feel like a dark romance at all because of how adorable the main guy was. Gosh. I'm so glad I am on a vacation when I started this series.
