Thank you for the informative unbiased review. I bought the Bora 50” NGX and the T-Squar I can confirm that the Bora T-Square can not be trusted when the target measurement is a 90-degree angle at the corner. It makes the entire system and square measurements awkwardly imbalanced. Because of this, the T-Square can only be used in a T configuration. However, we need to ensure that even in this configuration, the T-Square requires the users to measure both end distances of the target woodworking piece. Also, make sure during the emsable of the T-Square to double check the 90-degrees angle between the straight track and the T-Quare. At my first intend, the angle was out of the correct aligment.
nice build, my winter shop project is a new router table using the jessum top, lift and motor. you should checkout the routerbit holders at lee valley, basically they are plastic(abs) sockets that can be screwed to any surface or onto an aluminum track. once mounted on the track they can be moved around easily. it's a great system especially if you have lots of bits
Can I add another Bora NGX saw clamp extension beyond the eight feet, because the roof is twelve feet and I don't cut accurately. Can you give your opinion.
I was into it and then almost skipped it when I saw pocket holes. But i'm still here. Dude you got skills, why use them. Does a raggedy pocket hole look bete than a row of well placed screw heads??.. I'll shut up now. The lag bolts saved you.
nah Pocket holes have their place. I am definitely not using pocket holes to assembly a table top. Now, these pocket holes screws are designed to use with 2x material (construction lumber) and are incredibly strong. I use them for any shop project. I also only use them if I can hide them. i also use the HD Pocket hole screws to hang cabinets on a wall. That's how strong they are. I have used them in several videos.
Hey JP, did you resize the 4x4 lumber the way you did on the "half a$$ed" router table? Really like that method. The as-supplied lumber from the big box stores is crappy until you trim it up. Working on the router table and just picked up these plans along with the miter station plans.
Awesome thanks James. I did not realize the legs on this build. It’s something I did differently on the router table because I didn’t want it to me as bulky. Plus it gave me some extra room for the cabinets underneath.
Is nice well during this week I see many router table similar in sir way I collect all the information and I going to make my one whit all that when I get to Colombia but whit hard wood from the amazonas jungle or recicle wood call shanul is like hard like bone 🍖
Nice build. I have the same top and fence so this is perfect so I bought the plans. But I have a few questions. I see that the width of the base is 30 15/16" while the width of my router fence mounting flanges are 29 15/16" wide under the table. I see at time stamp 5:25 your mounting flanges do "fit perfectly". My Jessem phenolic top is 31 7/8 wide, perhaps yours is different? Also, the Bora router that you link in the description looks like a beast. How is that working for you?
Funny story about the bora. It died. So I bought a spin right router. Which is basically the same thing. spin Right makes the bora router. But the router is fantastic! With every penny. I need to update the link. Also I think I have the first version of that table. So your measurements might be off slightly. Thank you supporting the channel!
trust me fuses were blown and moments of quit and try again tomorrow happened several times. I do like showing mistakes but not complete and utter blow ups! :0)
I noticed in this video the orbital setting on your jigsaw is set to 3, which makes that blade moves forward as well as up and down. This makes for a faster but rpugher cut. If you set the orbital setting to 0, the blade will only move up and down leaving smoother cuts and better control on the jig saw 👍 hope that helps your relationship, keep up the awesome videos! I have a shop fox saw and I have to almost use a hammer to lock that red lever. Probably what happened to you. Nice to know how to adjust it. I’m really looking to learn how to adjust the riving knife to align with my blade. Any ideas on your saw. The part you replaced looks exactly like mine. Thanks
J. P.: Your NGX T-Square came with a five sided lump of orange plastic. That clips into the V shaped groove. It has a Tab that sticks out over your stock and catches the square.
Hey JP I just noticed something in the plans … it’s calls for 6) 17” small nailers and 6)20” large nailers , if I’m doing this correctly it should be 4) 17” small nailers and 8)20” nailers , not complaining at all the plans are freaking awesome man ! You done a really good job on them and thank u!! Anyways just a heads up!
Nice bench. 😊. I'm a little confused about a couple of things, though. You clearly don't mind the look of screw heads. I don't either.... especially on shop furniture. With that in mind, why take the time to use pocket screws on the upper and lower frames rather than just screw directly into the 4x4s, AND through the rails into the 2x4s that support the leg assemblies?
hey Bob! thanks for watching the video. Yes I do not mind screw holes if it's shop project. Honestly, when you are working on the bench you don't really notice the screw holes. If I was making a proper carpenter's bench I would hide the screw holes with plugs. It's dealer's choice. As for the pockets holes, I chose to use pocket holes because of the HD Pocket Hole jig. The HD screws have way more shear strength then standard construction screws. I get your point on using just standard butt joints and screws. I just went with stronger setup.
@@foxhallww311 that makes sense. Regardless of the HD screws, I think your bench would be plenty strong.... You definitely didn't half-@$$ anything. 🙂 I just found you. Keep it up, and I'll keep watching. Cheers
@@bobfre1 you are right, it would be plenty strong. obvisious people can build it the way they want or are comfortable with. thank you for following! it's much appreciated. I hope to rebuild the top soon. I have already beat it up pretty badly. Plus I want to make so design changes like adding dog holes and take out some of the matchfit groves out. I have found that I don't use all of them.
@@foxhallww311 You bet and thanks a bunch!! I'm attempting drawers in my workbench. Never done em before. Much more intimidating than I imagined I'd be.
Great build but I'm having a hard time understanding why all the time and effort sanding from 120 to 150 to 180 to 220 when you're just going to attach the face frame with crown staples? Why not use brads and fill/sand the holes? and no glue? Good work, but I don't get it LOL
25:45 plexiglass door, the holes you cut out fir air movement You can take a small pocket butane Torch and heat the edge of the hole And it will smooth out the markes the hole saw made, you might sand it down some but you can get it glass smooth like it was buffed.
16:04 I used a metal fish tank stand that someone had put out as trash, it looked very nice and clean. And i was trying to figure out how to add draws, what you just did sliding a pre-made cabnit into the stand solves my problem perfectly.
13:47 your doing really nice work, but it sounds like your reading off a script. You might try just talking as you make stuff, like your talking to someone in the room. This channel retired redneck Did a bit holder system using cleats and just on a flat card, now if you take the cards out it could be a problem but he was able to store more bits. He also used a cast iron top. But i think these pre-made router table tops are to short i made mine out of a 42"x28" 1.5" thick shelf material i got from a per 1 imports store they put out as trash. Its 7 layers of plywood and mdf very stable material. Not very smooth bit it works fine.
Nice looking router table, I would make 2 changes. Mount the switch on the side in a plastic switch box And add a real right hand draw. More bits storage. Also on right and left sides add fold down wings for long parts.
@@foxhallww311 Very nice. I have a 17inch Grizzly Bandsaw G0513X2BF with the front brake, I really like it. I will never use a bandsaw without a brake again. What is the lead time on the Fence? I bought mine in 2018 and it was 6-8 weeks, I went to their facility to order and pick it up. Really nice folks too! 😁🛫
