Is there any particular cause, why can't you use the garmin as a phone? You can send a written message, but for a 500€ price tag, I think it should handle calls if it is connected to your phone.
2:00 I was suprised when I wanted to use my co2 pump to adjust air pressure, and the cartridge wasn't compatible with the valve. It could not make a hole in the cartridge.
It’s funny how older these videos are😂🪵⚒️🪨🌲🏔️ I have kinda been obsessed by the gearbox concept as I am a Trailbuilder in Southern Oregon. The problem or difficulty is finding one to test ride as a full suspension Mountain Bike and have reached out to Zerode in NZ small company love em but they are limited and I love all the small companies trying to survive 🤷♂️ There is currently a Gates belt challenge to the first riders that can win a World Cup race of course that’s Gates and I guess doesn’t necessarily mean it’s aboard a Pinion. I definitely want one for sure the entire concept screams out to what we do here in austere conditions and miles from camp building so if anyone knows of availability of these beauties something we are missing (we do understand money talks bullshit walks😂🤷♂️) please do lend us an ear. Anyway thanks much great video!!🚵♀️🪵⚒️🌲🪨🏔️see ya on the trails!
I've been riding with the Jones Hbar on my singlespeed MTB for years, and I've even tried it a few times on my titanium Salsa Fargo. I don't know why, but I always end up putting the drop bars back on the Fargo.
The only thing I use is Dumonde Tech. There’s no need to apply it every time you ride, unlike most lubes. Just clean your chain, apply a little bit to every roller, cycle your chain, wipe it off. Run your chain through a rag every time after a ride. No need to reapply until your chain starts squeaking, then you do the whole process over.
The 2x 46-29 seems like the best option. The jump between gears with the 1x must make this groupset hard to use on pavement. At this price point, it’s a bargain !
Why a Goatlink 10 speed rather than a 11 speed? The previous bike; was a 1 by SRAM Force with a 11-42T New Bike is a GRX810 2by and swapping the wheels across it does not like the big ring. I already have the GRX810 Rear Deraulier so I am coming to the conclusion of a Goatlink but confused of the 10 / 11 speed variants. Any comments appreciated.
Love to have a competent full SUS bike for bikepacking. Opens a lot of doors in terms of terrain choices and not much of a weight penalty on this bike. This is pretty close to a one bike does most everything. Trail, XC and bikepacking- not bad!
for the cyclist that cannot take stairs.. (ie: recumbent trikes). the Komoot APP is a night mare. it constantly directs you to routes with multiple flights of stairs.. (That ENDS the TRIP)
phone GPS work on a 3 point ping system.. it measures the distance between you and each of the three cell towers to determine your location.. Unless you have a sattelite phone, you will loose cell service (and GPS). A good Garmin will provide better coverage. NOT PERFECT.. always have backup cycling maps..
Single speed is the way. I bought an old raggedy pugsley off Craigslist for blizzard commuting and converted it to single speed. I was so hooked after that first trail ride. Stopped riding my squishy bike entirely and sold it. My riding improved so quickly and I gained so much confidence. Started racing ultra endurance and 4 years later I am still obsessed. Single speed is ❤
This is a great groupset for retro builds I could just imagine building a 1× nine speed drivetrain for a retro road bike from the nineties using rim brakes with this groupset. Having the option to use mechanical disc brakes with this drivetrain for other types of builds is also a great option. I am sold on 1× drivetrains these days with the extra weight and complexity of a 2× not appealing to me anymore. Microshift is really catering to all comers with it's new Sword components being compatible with every other component in it's line up. 😎🇦🇺👍
Can you share this data in a tabulated form? It would be awesome to see some pivot tables, graphs, and visualizations of the data you are sharing verbally!
Chief issue is being able to charge the battery/batteries! Am having to make sure I can find places to charge on prospective routes to, say, various locations on the Oregon Coast.
This does not work if the fat tire is setup tubeless and the bead has not been broken for a couple of years. I learned the hard way that is always best to take the tire off the rim each year and clean up the glue along the edges!
Thanks for the video. For next year's stats how about including tent versus bivvy and also what spare parts were carried and parts that broke most frequently on the ride?
To charge the 2 batteries on my 2 wheel drive E-CELLS Super Monarch Crown I use a 12 pound charging system. OK, OK, my 95 pound E-MTB is a "beast" but it's a 400 pound max (rider weight included) load CARGO BIKE for hunting and camping. -> THE SYSTEM: Off Grid TREK 220 watt solar "blanket", controller and cables. This blanket is about 24% efficient compared to other far less efficient (and much larger for same wattage) solar blankets now available. It's "SPENDY" but well worth it for this purpose and for charging my BLUETTI AC200 MAX lithium iron phosphate power center when car camping/huntng AND for use with the BLUETTI if there is an extended power outage.
Love to see more videos like this on your channel. Excellent to see basic things to look for, how to use certain tools and what you can get away with. Well done!
