My wife and I traveled through Italy about 10 years ago and I fell in love with these wines. Also lacrima Cristi if you ever get a chance to review it.
Some of the Chenin Blancs, Sauve Blancs and reds I’ve tried from Valle de Guadalupe, MX exhibit a strong salty minerality. But they very pleasing to consume.
Hold the bottle at 45°, because the pressure only goes up, in to the side of the bottle not out the hole. Where the pressure differential occurs..... 🤦🏻♂

Am subscribed. Even hit the like button. Sangiovese is my favorite grape. Barbera is from Piedmont up north. Nebbiolo is also from up north Italy. Piedmont. When I went on a few cruises they had some wines from Sicily. They were good. Corsica produces some good wines too.

I'm lucky enough to live in Spain, and getting great wine for less than €15 a bottle is easy. Maybe do a post about Spanish pink wines, a real secret not generally shared outside the country.

I'll drink Gamay over Pinot every time. I will always enjoy a red Burgundian wine, but the price-to-taste ratio for Beaujolais is just hard to beat, and its perfect for having friends over and having conversations with them, but Burgundy IS the conversation, and that more often than not isn't what I want. Almost zero of the people i know are winos. So i want to bring friends in with a nice wine and offer a drink of something that is far more approchable to the masses.
@@Winefolly It happens to the best of us, we can't all be perfect with all of the different tough to pronounce words out there. I screwed up sommelier recently in a video and knew I would get roasted.
The special thing about your videos is that each one conveys the joy and enthusiasm you bring to the information you share. Each one feels like you are encountering a wine for the first time. And very definitely a Bierzo/Jaen fan. And reds and whites(😍😍😍😍) from las Canarias.
I agree, The blend from Mencía is a rough choice for a beginner. Great wine though. I like to stick with a nice Tempranillo from Rioja or a Monstrell when hosting wine tastings for friends and family that arent into wine that much but want to learn more.

Just finished my level one WSET this weekend and was answering most of the wines in the tasting portion. I got the grape and the region right but not the specific AVA (malolactic plus oak aging was the dead giveaway the fruit notes were secondary that made sense after you revealed the wine). I thought it was Napa Chardonnay only half right.

Casa Castillo makes another wine called Casa Castillo El Molar. That is really an amazing wine for the price. It is about double the one you have in the tasting, so about €18 here, but very much worth it.
You mean Jumilla pronounciation? J is pronounced as H in Spanish, so it was supposed to be pronounced something like who-milla. But maybe incorrect pronunciation serves its purpose better to introduce Spanish wines to non-Spanish 🙂
