Once I was in high school and I saw Dough hook up with some guy named Alex, after Alex was dared by his jock group that he couldn't make Doug the prom queen. Sick night. Jessica from history got queen. Anyway, gl with poker!
I would have much rather seen you in the heads up at the wsop if I knew this was going to be how the million dollar game went or even a big game at the Lodge would have been better than this was It really sucks for everyone all around!
Doug Polk at the start of the video talking about his commentary: “As a player in the game it adds a little bit more context and some insight into what’s happening that I think maybe you aren’t going to get from all the other content out there.” Also Doug Polk - not playing in the game. Seriously, WTF?
This time has been a much tougher watch. 1) No needlers - Nik Airball, Eric Peterson etc 2) No well known vloggers that we know their personality outside of Doug 3) The big winner only speaks chinese and isn't moved when he wins a million dollar pot. 4) The big hands generally lack intellectual depth and are just unfortunate, or the loser was lighting money on fire. 5) Doug was only there 5 minutes. If you would have told me 1 year ago that the lodge had caught up in product to hustler I would have said you were crazy. However, we are there now.
I would imagine the lower the stakes the looser and more relaxed the game , a lot of people make around $50,000 a year, that's 20 years to make a million dollars and to be able to lose a million dollars in 1 day can be rather tense .
My thoughts on the less talk vs more talk argument in the 1M game are that the quiet is good because people are tense because its a lot of money on the line. The silence only adds authenticity to the gravity of the situation.
Saw this lady playing in something recently and was like, her name is different....then curiosity got me and I looked her up and realized she was married to this guy, Alex Foxen. My mind immediately went to this Polk video and how they were clearly soft playing.
