I like this Brewer guy, he takes Doug's victory lap like a champ and even offers a smile and congratulations after Doug collects himself after those laps around the table lol
I think his smile was at the "your on the outs" joke, but I totally agree. Super hard to stay that composed when you're catching bad beats like that, especially as frequently as it seems to happen to him.
I like him too, I enjoy playing with poker players who share the same attitude. unlike some others, he has poker etiquette. The emotional maniacs don't bother me at all, I just think they are classless. Having fun and having decorum are not mutually exclusive.
Glad to see Doug is balancing out his celebration range. 80% of the time he would normally tear his shirt off and do the fish flop dance, but he chose a more conservative route this time.
Doug, you are the best. Period. I'm an old man (76) and set in my "poker ways", but I love your content... Always. As Pinocchio said to Geppetto... "Keep up the woodwork." LOL
Anyone who claims they can beat a casino house-edge game with "secrets" is a fool. If you actually can, why would you publicize the fact? The only reason the Ivey edge-sorting thing became public was because the casino sued him LOL
Thanks for taking some time to take a photo with me on Friday, I was so nervous I forgot to tell you GL...but looks like you didn't need it. Congrats 🎉
hello Doug Polk. my name is Alex. I'm from Romania. I work in the UK as a chef (I made a personal presentation to make it clear that I'm not a professional poker player) I play occasionally just for "fun".i have watched all your videos for 6 years. it's my first comment left for someone on youtube. I personally think your game strategy at the poker table is brilliant (regardless of stakes), the fact that some people don't like you in the poker world has become a big advantage for you, especially in the last 3 years. You're brilliant. Just one piece of advice from an insignificant person like me..don't drink alcohol at high stakes. have a great day!!
Congrats on your finish. In spite of your breaks from the game between the D-Negs challenge and your resent return; you’re still definitely in the convo for the best HUNL Hold ‘em. We’re all herek pwww qcheering you on. Congrats on the “make back your losses from the Hustler grind. You’ve got such an naturally entertaining personality. Your sportsmanship and humility (especially when you’re down big from the hustler stream was admirable. Your celebration in this hand was all for the entertainment and le memes; coming from other players (like Personn) it might be a bad look but coming from you? It was pure entertainment. We’re rooting for your success and you’re a joy to watch. Keep doing you, Doug. Proud of you my dude.
Brewer is such a cool dude not only for how he handled the best but even after he asked if you had aces and immediately feeling bad. Dudes a killer who has ran so bad in some big spots he’s going to win a lot for a long time. Great run Doug glad you got in there wish you could have taken it home
I found you because I met DnGs years ago and never met a funnier person. We traded switching accents . That was decades ago! Then, while checking up on his stuff, I was algorithmic programmed to get things from a partner of yours. I don't have the poker rules locked down. But I loved his jiggidies and dead pan humor. Then you were someone I learned about. All I know about poker is the fact I am a tarpon, marlin or ,most likely ,a tiny bluegill
It was weird because it was like the previous board or similar that Doug had bluffed and got him to fold. K, 2 pair, set and straight all beat him and he still ended up calling that hand with a 6 and no kicker.
@@alexandrevaz-filion783 In that spot his kicker doesn’t really matter since doug shouldn’t be x/r’ing any better 6x on the turn unless it’s 6cXc which isn’t possible (since we hold the 6c). I think it more came to a spot that he thought he may have to call some one pair hands and likes having the 8 for the blocker to 89 and that his 8 didn’t block 8cXc bluff combos. Doug definitely has a lot of strong hands too don’t get me wrong, but I’m just assuming that’s the thought process that leads to calling down with the 6 in that spot.
I think Khun got so flustered it actually affected his play. I think if he wasn’t so flustered and nervous he might have thought some hands over a little more. He also made some big lay downs with the winning hand. Which seemed to increase his fluster.
I agree, I think he peg Doug for a bluff and was just calling down. Which is a bad way to think because bluffs can come in. In his defense Doug polarized it to big hand or air.
@@stevenwalker9013 yeah I wondered if he went with a smaller turn sizing how the action would play out. If you see this Doug, could you go for a smaller turn size there. And if so would it be more likely to induce a fold or 3 bet from Khun. It probably doesn’t matter because if he calls you’re likely still following through on the river.
He was struggling with the time bank scenario. I think at that time he only had one, maybe two left. I think he just had to go with his gut that he had air. If he can think it over more, he might lay it down.
haha that celebration was the best mate... loved it! and you are right, we have watched you handle the bad beats really well.. time to release it all when you win. Good win Doug
It's the fact that you are really great in your losses that makes your celebrating wins totally okay in my book. It's the people who are a-holes when they lose that I can't stand.
Love your reaction. Celebrate with joy. Theres a lot of chance in poker also - so we all accept beats. Shit happens to everyone. Love your enthusiasm. Spread the joy
I don’t think I’ve smiled harder at a poker hand than at your celebration. Poker is meant to be fun when you win and you should never be ashamed of enjoying yourself
as far as the check goes, I found this How Long Is a Cashier's Check Good For? The expiration date on a cashier's check depends on the bank. Some cashier’s checks have a "void after X days" disclaimer, usually between 60 to 180 days. Other cashier's checks have no expiration date and should remain valid as long as the bank operates.
I'm glad you're exposing that fraud, Mikki. His everlasting stories are extremely skillful but definitely not believable. The dude says he doesn't curse, he cursed on the same exact podcast. He goes around stating he's made his money from Baccarat and having multiple businesses. You want the real life story on how Mikki really made all his wealth... Watch the movie "Body Brokers" and you'll get all the answers there. He's even ratted himself out on a podcast, without even realizing it. The dude lies so much, he can't even remember his own lies vs his own reality.
He is celebrating his good luck. If I lost the hand I certainly don’t think it would make me feel worse, if anything maybe slightly better to at least see my opponent taking joy from his luck.
It is also easy to create a contact on your phone labelled "Doug Polk" attach it to one of your buddy's phone numbers and screenshot a text conversation between you and your buddy and pass it off as a conversation from Doug. The whole "here is a screenshot of a text conversation" has to be the stupidest thing ever.
No one can honestly blame Doug for the first victory lap. We've all had that moment. The second lap, closer call. If he had succeeded in crowd-surfing, there'd have been bad vibes.
