A daily cinematic vlog. A Pilgrimage. A walk in the woods..
Follow my journey of sobriety through adventure therapy as I attempt to traverse the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine and back down to Georgia again. This channel will serve as entertainment, as well as to document my hike and video production progression as I attempt to capture my experience.
7:36 What you got there is a Barred Owl. Super cool to see one during the daylight and that close. I’ve seen a few of them, but only one that close in daylight-in, of all places, Louisiana : ) Possibly the coolest bird call there is. Sounds exactly like “Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you all?” Crazy to hear at night in the woods.
Finished half the L.T NoBo end of September. Ran into you on trail above Maine Junction, you were SoBo. I said to you “ I recognize you, your Captain Jack! Was hiking with probably the only tramily on the LT. Four of us started our hikes the same day at different times but came together after a couple days and hiked for weeks together. We had the same venison burgers you had at Rt 103. Pleasure to have met you and sending some Venmo your way.
I said Jump! And you jumped! 😂😂. Your videos get better and better. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into them. Freakin cool seeing that owl. Thanks! 😊
Your jumpin on the swinging bridge brought a chuckle out of me. I remember doing that so much when I was young at my grandmothers house… livin the life… owl was sooo cool! What a day to be grateful for!!❤❤❤❤❤

Precisely the reason for a construction helmet in the AT. Most non self inflicted head injuries could be avoided. On the return Knife Edge the poor fellow bounced on his head. Disoriented he chases Moose cows in Vermont. If you have the equipment for that sort of thing. .
Knowing that you post your videos with about a 5 day "lag time" it will be interesting to see what decisions you make regarding the continuation of the AT - you are headed into the states with the utter devestation from hurricane Helene - and your home state of Tennessee was hit hard -- prayers for you and your loved ones ...
Man, this was a good ‘un. Lots of great views and good commentary. Loved the underwater leaf at 10:48 and the rotating shots of the trees at 11:36. Also 11:27, getting mud on the camera for the shot. 😂 Been in the woods all my life, never noticed the “ferns turn.”12:32 and 12:38 (cool one). Thanks for that. Beautiful, well-made video.
Just another lovely day on trail. Thanks for sharung, i feel like im hiking this YoYo / LT yo yo with you except you're doing all the work. Love the videos thanks 😊
White blazing again! Good to see you back on the A.T. Enjoyed the Long Trail, though. Really nice trail! Never seen it filmed in as much detail as you did on your hike. Thanks for showing your viewers this amazing trail and its A-list shelters.
Your reminder that you are super talented. Keep thinking about a way to do what you love for work. You deserve it, even though you don't think you do. Without getting into all kinds of stuff, I have understood your struggles since the beginning and want you to succeed. You will. Tell yourself that. Rant over. You have so much time! 💙💙
Master splinter was a guest on the “ Kyle hates hiking” channel I watched today. They discussed MS hike with Leo. Your name came up! Just wanted to let you know how well known in the hiking community you are! Still watching and praying for you Captain Jack! ❤

Well good news, all of the Smokies are open once you get down that way. You may have to skip some big sections but you will be able to do the spots you need to do.
