We did not prune last year and the Crepe Myrtles are way too large... I am sure that you are correct but can't have 40 feet Crepe Myrtles..all different posts on how to prune properly..Dlo you hAVE SUGGESTIONS?
Your garden is beautiful, thank you for sharing. I am going to start next year with seeds. It is very expensive to buy seasonal flowers. Thank you for the video and your time.
Good day! Thank you for sharing your experience at Logan’s, I just started working there this month. It’s a wonderful garden center, but it’s so sad to know this location won’t be around much longer. I’m hoping the move back to the farmers market works out wonderfully. 🙏❤️
Alistair from the u.k. I grow tithonia I don't get the height that you do probably because it's too cold here and the season is short but enjoy it there's nothing like it for colour.
Ive been trimmin the bush off. No more than waist high but bloomun crazy now and today 4 orange flutterie butterflys the most ive had yet ones smaller like its a baby
I hope you dried out the center growing area. I noticed it was submerged in water while you were soaking it. Orchids are very susceptible to rot when they get water in that area.
I'm not a fan of Crape Murder either. To me, it ruins a beautiful plant. To each their own, I guess. I actually enjoy the pruning experience on my Crape Myrtles. Is it okay to prune them some more in early September? I prune them in the dead of winter, but I think they could use another pruning in September.
Daisy, we are new to crape Myrtle’s but we love them! We planted 2 fifteen ft trees and in early spring a late freeze got them….. but they are coming back at the base! 2 questions, do we cut those original big trunks out of them in the winter I’m guessing? Can we train the new ‘leads’ to grow up into a Tree again or are they now bushes? And last, should we fertilize these trees?!? If so with what and when… we are in central Oklahoma!
Wife's brother just gave us one. Only used once like new. Can't wait 'till (get it... till😁)next spring to tear up the lawn. Whoa- I'll stay clear of the chicken wire😮 3:34. Actually thanks for the heads up on that. Looks like a good machine.
Oh i would love to know what type of forget me not you grow? I tried last year growing from seed and they just didn't do good at all. (I'm in East Tennessee 7a) so they should do fine but whatever type it was did not thrive.
Could you please let us know how many seeds you need to buy and have germinated to cover a 10x10 area of different varieties? Is it too much to ask? I’m a beginner and want to throw a ton of seeds all around my property (and beyond). If I got a pound or two of seeds, would I get something that resembles a “meadow”? Like a 50x10feet area
Then what do you do with a 20 year-old crape myrtle that is planted so close to the house that it is damaging the gutter and roof? I don't want to cut it down but can't leave it to continue doing damage.
I’m glad I’ve found your videos. I planted a rose bush on the corner of my house. It’s super tall with the prettiest orange color roses. Don’t know it’s name. I noticed it was getting devastated by something but didn’t know what. Now I know. I am sad to know it’s something I can’t fix. It’s heartbreaking to nurture a plant, see it bloom, only to have it die from disease. I’ve learned some valuable info from your videos. Thank you for sharing. Zone 6A.
Great video and so informative. Those are beautiful trees! We have them everywhere and the varieties are extensive! I recently went to The Home Depot and purchased the Nantchez crape myrtle for half price. I looked at the name and did not realize I need plenty of room for this tree to grow. It’s a massive tree! I keep it watered and will need to find a home for it. I read someplace this tree needs to be planted atleast 15 feet from your house. We have a pool and I don’t want to plant around it because of the roots potentially clogging up our drains. Looks like I will plant it in the wild or give it away. 😢
Stock, calendula and snap dragons are cool season plants here in Texas. Give them another try in the Fall or early Spring and you may have better results.
