C Montgomery thank you sooooo much. When I finally found your video and after waisting so many papers, I just had to “close the lid”! Wow, you are such an excellent instructor ❤. Much love from Canada
so happy to find a way to use the huge pile of page protectors that I have for 3 rings that I did not know what to do with once I realized the way to go is having the 2 page layout lay flat! TY!
I liked using the same paper selections to have continuity throughout an album---it was nice to listen to hints and tips about what is pleasing to the eye and connects your work! Very easy to follow, thank you!
Love your layouts! I can relate to them especially because they are quick and so beautiful and practical to use for example, my childrens educational history. Thank you!
OMG! I've been looking high n low for help on the cutting off the edge. I'm going to try the closed lid idea and if if it works.. I'll love you forever. 😁
If you print multiple images on it at the same time, that's best. You can use the registration marks more than once because the machine will register the registration marks every time, but it's difficult to run paper through a laser printer because the cut part might get hung up inside your printer.
Thankyou so much for this video!!! It has been the only video I have found that goes through EVERYTHING step by step and actually makes sense!!! Was able to cut something out and it worked the first go. Thankyou so much!!!! Mel x
The light gave it a different shadow perhaps, and it seems like that’s what it actually cut. But otherwise love the detail. 👍🏾 New user of the Silhouette program.
I think closing the lid keeps glare from other lighting from interfering with the laser. But that's just my very un-technical conclusion. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for stopping by my channel and for the feedback! If you'd care to leave a link to your channel, I'd love to watch some of your videos to get some ideas.
For cut files on the Silhouette, I like either Bazzill Smoothies (Coconut Swirl for smooth white) or Neenah Classic Crest Solar White in 80 or 110 lb. The Neenah is especially nice for Print and Cut. But really, any good, quality cardstock will work when you're getting started. Don't get textured cardstock, if you can avoid it when you're a beginner. Textured cardstock can be really frustrating if you've never used it.
And 5 years later a huge, huge thank you, for still being one of the most concise, well made and helpful tutorials that are out there! I have a Cameo 4(my first cutting machine) and believe it or not, this still applies and helps a lot! I tried to look at so many boring, time consuming (pp that have a 20-40 min video and in the end they don't actually say anything that helps or is in the video description), with absolutely no outcome. I rarely leave a comment, but this was so good, that I just had to say a big Thank You. Liked and subscribed.
And 5 months later, I finally remembered to stop in and say thanks for watching my video and stopping by my channel! I'm so glad you continue to find it helpful.
the loading mat is suppose to go in arrow first(and you align the paper at the top with the arrow); the first time you load the giraffe you have the arrow on the bottom; the second time you load the giraffe its arrow in first( and it cuts properly). i dont think open close lid is the problem or solution. thanks for the tutorial
Actually the mat can go in either way. They are exactly the same size if you load top or bottom end first. In fact, it's best to alternate which end you load from because it makes your mat last longer. The newer style mats don't even have arrows.
Will this work if all the layouts are 2 page layouts? I am not sure because ALL your protectors would need fused, wouldn't they? Great idea though...I had never seen the flush ones.
I don't do many two page layouts, so this works pretty well for me. But I can see where it would be problematic for someone who makes primarily two-page layouts.
I just got the Cameo 4 and I am having the same issue with the cuts being off. I am so glad you addressed that because I was going crazy! I will give this a try on my next piece. Thank you!!
Ma’ammmmm please helppppp!!! Lol I’m about to lose it!!! 😭😭😭😭The cut being off JUST started... and I don’t know why??? I didn’t change anything... move anything?? So I can’t figure this out... and I’m ready to scream!! I watched the video and thought you were a genius to just simplify the trouble shooting... So... I normally cut with the cover up... and now the registration marks aren’t reading!! I closed the cover.. and bangg!! It took!! But the cut is offset like your ??? What the heck!!??? Smh... and now.... every time I cut... it’s off and cuts to the left!! Pleaseeeeeee help!!!
