G'Day, my name is Dave and my friends call me the 'Tree Change Farmer'.
After living most our lives in suburbia, myself and my wife Kim decided we needed a tree change.

We looked far and wide before deciding to purchase a small farm in the Hunter Valley of NSW in Australia. In 2018 we moved in and set upon a path towards being more self sufficient and looking at ways to bring in additional income from what we grow on the land we love. Travel with us on our journey as we grow vegetables, english lavender and wax flowers and take care of all the other tasks a small farm presents every day.

You must watch the plants don't get root bound in the hole. You have essentially created a clay pot which you are planting into. I typically square off the hole so the roots hit the corner and can turn out of the 'pot'

@TreeChangeFarmer
@TreeChangeFarmer 21 день назад
@stephenavaient449 I use an organic product called 'SLASHER' that does not contain the glysophate used in products like Roundup. Negative side it is twice the price of Roundup but it acts very fast as you can see the weeds dying within hours. Not that long lasting and the weeds seem to come back a bit sooner than Roundup. I use it more in the vege patch. Cheers Dave.

It’s sad to deal with dead plants planted with the hope they will grow strong and productive. This is a part of growing trees. One dies and plant ten more.

I have some plants that have died and not sure why. Those plants were young and pruned late going into winter and we had a ver cold early frost that may have been part of the cause. Now I prune after I have cut the blooms around Christmas time to give the plants some ggowing time to recover before it gets cold. Cheers Dave

I have only looked at their web site. I like the 1.7t machine but noticed it has steel tracks with rubber pads. Might be possible to purchase with a rubber track option. A while back it was one of only a few suppliers that sold a 1.7t machine with the additional implements, however I notice now that UHI have a similar machine with the implements at a similar price. Well done Dave, your, work has really paid off in achieving the rustic appearance you desired for minimal cost. In my old cottage I have a somewhat similar effect, achieved by the previous owner using recycled timber, although not from pallets. Some has been laid vertically and on another wall it is done horizontally. The horizontal style works far better on the small walls of my cottage as that seems to make the walls seem wider, but on a long wall like your shed, particularly where you had to cover the protruding columns, I think vertical was the best choice.

Hey Dave, I’m in Sydney and have a UME12. I want to do this conversion for my auger AND jackhammer attachments. Will a Pirtek store be able to provide all I need. With 2 attachments, I will need an extra set of the 3/8-8L nipple converter. Wondering if Alex from UHI can send me a set rather than sourcing from Pirtek? Would love your thoughts? Thanks

Excellent explanation video. I have a Z540M with Kawasaki engine. My mower has 324 hours on it. It has a black sleeve that goes over the air filter. I rinse sleeve off with water after every mowing and let dry/tap dust out of air filter. I change sleeve and air filter every 50 hours. As long as a person using John Deere oil, filter, it will not void warranty if you do the serving yourself. Valves {overhead} needs to be adjusted every 200 hours. My mower has a short drain hose that drops down in hole under oil filter for easier drainage. I have 2 acres to mow.Thank you for video. Blessings to you.

@TreeChangeFarmer

Yes I used liquid nails on each joist. Shown briefly at 19:12. I found it better to have a sheet of flooring on top of the previous sheet so you can slide it out so it drops directly in place.
