Homelessness is a growing issue for the UK with more than 300,000 people living on the streets. Many of these people don't even make it onto the official figures.
The Unseen is a organisation we set up to give Homeless people a platform to have their story and their struggles heard. We also want everyday people to have an opportunity to understand what leads a person into being Homeless.
We want employers and regular people to support the homeless towards getting back into work and off the streets.
We hope their stories can touch the hearts of many.
We inform the local outreach team about most of the homeless people that we interview. Unfortunately we can't report each individual as the outreach team need to know where they sleep and we don't always have that information. It's still tragic even if it was drugs. I've known so many people affected by addiction and it's not as easy to "not take drugs"! as everyone thinks, it's extremely hard.
He is very ungrateful for any help that he gets.He should try and help himself a bit more and ditch the drugs. What annoys me is people give him food and he complains about it. It seems he just wants money and more of it.
I can't work out why homeless people still hang out in London. I would go where there's jobs . I've never understood why London draws in so many homeless.
He doesn't sound English so he probable get housed soon just like the rest of them normally do thats how the housing system works for people from different countries
If my ex girlfriend didn't want me around i would just say get on with it and just pack one bag with a load of jumpers and transit bottoms and a sleeping bag and sleep behind buildings and go to homeless day centers and keep begging everyday and get on with street life
Yeah I worked really hard for years but luckily I’m not homeless hopefully it won’t happen I also struggle with mental health problems and addicted to smoking cigarettes my mum passed away at 57 it’s really messed with my head like where has she gone
I’m epileptic because of a head injury as a result of excessive child abuse. Left home at 17 before my family could get adult guardianship of me. Family made things worse. They believed I was possessed by the devil. They used the mental health and religious systems against me. Homeless shelters are no better. My dream is to open a shelter for the disabled that helps them own their own homes.
was so close to this. Lost my decently paying job (redundancy) in sales, my partner of nearly 10 years, my home and my car all in the space of one week. No apology. I wouldn't have the damn cheek to make money off the backs of homeless people and not even hand them - any of them - the price of a bloody cup of coffee. I don't make money from homeless, but even I don't pass them without giving them something, even if it's 8 cigarettes - You've got a damn nerve !
