Joe is homeless in Holloway, London after leaving his parents house when they decided to move to a very rural area. Joe spoke to us about the effect of drugs on his life and how he survived day to day on the cold streets of London.

Homelessness is a growing issue for the UK with more than 300,000 people living on the streets. Many of these people don't even make it onto the official figures.
The Unseen is an organisation we set up to give Homeless people a platform to have their stories and their struggles heard. We also want everyday people to have an opportunity to understand what leads a person into being Homeless. We at the The Unseen believe that everybody has a responsibility to help the unfortunate.
We want employers and regular people to support the homeless towards getting back into work and off the streets.
We hope their stories can touch the hearts of many.
Living on the street is no way to live.

Exactly mate, separating does it all. I ended up homeless briefly and in a hostel. Thankfully it was a short time before I managed to get out of it. I could still get universal credit tho. Using the job centre address. I’m surprised they don’t tell people this more. You can be homeless and get the credit. Using this address for the paperwork.

I pray for all people that find themselves in this direction situation. I do have to say that in this man's situation he does need to take responsibility for his own life which he is doing . His parents are elderly and maybe they moved to a rural area cos it's a more affordable lifestyle. They may be retired or on a pension. It's good to see he understands it's his parents right to live out their golden years as they see fit. They obviously allowed him to live with them but he probably got bored in the country and being a city boy he prefers the city living, there's more opportunities too. I pray he doesn't succum to drugs or alcohol to cope that is my main concern cos he seems like a fit, well spoken man. I will keep him in my prayers. Housing really needs to be number one priority with all world governments. Housing first then the support to help all people get off the streets and stay off the streets. Also if there are so many jobs available out there then why aren't employers scouting the homeless? Give them a go, they may surprise you.

I keep hearing from these Guys,im not getting benifits etc, i was homeless got it straight away.you may need a smart phone or Pc to do it on and Id. Day centers always will let you use there address. Something missing here anyway i wish them well xx

And with out any disrespect. You could use the address of your parents home for it. And stay in a hostel maybe. And a half hour walk for a bus. Is really not that bad. But I’m not here to judge. I hope you find happiness my friend.
