Hi Marc, Does Thinkific allow you to configure the appearence of the subtitle i.e. text size, text font, text colour, text background colour, location of the text on the screen, just to name a few?
@Riklish Great question and sorry for the delay with this response. The answer is yes and no. You have some options for text, size, and color, but it's not unlimited by any means. I recommend starting with a free trial account, which uses the same editing engine as a paid account. I'm still stuck in the creation and use of an external SSD. I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) running Big Sur 11.7.10 and so far haven't been able to create the RAM disk. I have a AFPS 500Gb external SSD (USB 3.1). Could you help me? I'm really STUCK!
@AntonioCarlosDeBiasi The RAM disk I explain here doesn't use an external SSD, it uses built-in RAM memory. I think this is the reverse of what you want to do. It seems that you are trying to use an External SSD to increate your virtual RAM. This solution instead uses actual RAM to make a virtual disk - the exact opposite. The solution I've outlined here takes extra RAM and turns it into a temporary disk to use as swap space or just a place to get store files in a temporary way.

I just acquired a Logitech Brio Ultra HD 4K Webcam and downloaded LogiTune. It looks about the same as to the controls and settings three years later, but one thing I can't find is a means to change the resolution, since there are several resolution levels the webcam purports to have. A previous Anker camera permitted this easily. So how is this done with this webcam? As it is, I can't even tell at what resolution level it is running.
@arvid9999 Sorry for the delay here. By now you may have already researched your answer. If not, here is my 2 cents. In most cases, resolution choices are depicted in the given piece of software you are using. Also, as a side note here, I wanted to mention that in order for the camera to provide the max resolution, you'll need to use the cable that came with the camera or a USB C "high-speed" cable, which is completely different than a traditional USBC charging cable. In any case, if you're using a program like Zoom, the max resolution will likely be HD (versus 4K) only due to the built-in mandated limitations of the Zoom program itself. In fact, it's likely you won't see a range of resolution selections in programs like Zoom as they dumb down products like these to not confuse people. On the other hand, if you are doing pro recordings using products like ScreenFlow, Loom, and perhaps even OBS, you'll likely see more choices in and around the camera settings to decide what resolution the camera is recording in. There are several third-party apps available on the App Store that can work side by side with your camera, and many of these allow you to adjust the resolution of your recordings. "Logitech Capture" is a program that allows you to record and adjust many settings on your camera, and it seems to be a beginner's Swiss army knife for recordings. www.logitech.com/en-us/software/capture.html
Thanks for this info. Sadly, we're in 2024, I'm using a Brio 4K Stream and for some reason, Logi Tune says the Firmware is up to date running version 1.0.40... I can't seem to update it no matter what. While the camera is functional, I can't for the life of me figure out why it doesn't want to update the firmware to a newer version. Did anyone else have these issues and found a solution? Thanks for your time!

Turns out the Brio 4K Stream has a different firmware than the other Brio models. I'd drop a link to the download for anyone else who might experience this issue, but I don't think it's allowed. I am a bit frustrated and maybe someone can help me out... I just bought the Brio 4K stream a few years ago and today i heard something about the LogiTune for the very first time because i find out that my Cam is not streaming in 4k and only 30fps at FHD... not in 60fps anymore... no option for that anymore.. i dont know y... So i do a research whats going on or may theres an update for that cam and find out that there is an app named LogiTune.. installed and restarted my Computer. checking the firmware with that app but theres no update for me. No firmware update since i bought the brio 4k. Firmware-Version right now is "1.0.40". i tried everything i could do, but it doesnt show me an option to update my firmware-version. no 60fps on FHD anymore, no 4k 30FPS, no firmware on the regular logitech webside, nothing.. its so frustrating cause its not my 1st struggle with some applications... no more words when i say Gigabyte Control Center... maybe someone can help me out with logitech ´cause i have no more ideas
@Teesuchti1 Hello. One idea is to make sure you are using a high-speed cable when connecting your camera. Using the original cable that came with the camera will work, and you'll see that it is noticeably thicker than a traditional charging cable you might be tempted to use to connect it. If you are using the original cable, there could be an issue with it - test with another cable before giving up hope. FYI: Using a typical USB charging cable instead of a high-speed USB cable can prevent being able to record in 4K and could also possibly cause issues with updating the firmware. Are you using a PC Or Mac for this firmware install? Which computer OS version?
Thank you for your video, Mark! :) I can't find reliable information anywhere: What's the difference between the 2017 and the 2022 versions of the Logitech Brio 4k? On reddit Logitech Logitech Support says there is a difference in firmware and here on amazon Logitech Support there is no difference.

It introduced a new framework that leverages two streams to facilitate the login process using HELLO. The update was applicable for Windows 8, Windows 7, and Windows 10 operating systems, with a file size of 2.95 MB. Firmware Version 2.0.58 (Update on 2022-03-23): This update was aimed at managing performance improvements with certain USB docks. It was compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. The software version for this update was 2.9.76.0, and the update file was 2.53 MB in size. General Improvements in Image Quality: Across various updates, there have been enhancements to the image quality of the webcam. These improvements include better sharpness and color tones in different lighting conditions and during zooming. ==== *Now, this is me talking again...* I think the way to go about this would be to: 1) Install "Logi Tune" 2) Connect your Brio Webcam 4K 3) It will tell you if there's an update available, and it will tell you what that update does (without much detail): *In my case, I connected my camera just now, and it said the following:* Webcam Firmware 2.0.64 April 28, 2023 Bugs • Fixed an issue where there was occasionally an audio glitch. • Fixed an issue that could affect the ability to have granular camera zoom adjustment. So, I would update your camera via the Logi Tune software from Logitech and go from there, and it appears that the latest version is, in fact, 2.0.64 - again, this pertains ONLY if you have the "Logitech Brio 4K Webcam" (I'm doing my update via a Mac using the latest version of the OS: Sonoma 14.1.1 on a Mac Studio connected to the front of the computer USB-C to USB-C.) One final tip: Be sure to use the original cable that came with your Logitec camera if you can. It's a special cable that allows the 4K image. In other words, you can't use any old UCB C cable when operating the camera. You can probably update the firmware with any cable, but you won't get 4K unless you use the high-speed data USB C-type cable with your Brio 4K Webcam. Good luck! Oh, and after updating my two Brio 4K cameras, it seems that everything is working well. I don't really see a difference between the old and the new versions, however, these days I haven't been using the Brio cameras as much. The new kid in town is the Elgato Facecam 4K found here: - Elgato Facecam Pro 4K: amzn.to/40ZW5Hu. The Elgato will play nice with the new Elgato Prompter which is something on the list for a while. I'm also invested heavily in Streamdeck units at this point as I bring my entire studio up a notch.

@@MeTechie I received the camera today and immediately connected it to my macbook. I did everything according to your instructions and when I got to the firmware I saw that the firmware number is Version 1.0.40 and the gray button is "up to date". So I see that I have a very old firmware with no way to update it. I assumed that if I took the webcam out of my MacBook and put it on a Windows computer and did the same thing you said in your instructions, then maybe the button would unlock and there would be an option to update the firmware. But as it turned out and on Windows computer button "Up To Date" is also grayed out - that is, without the ability to press it and update the firmware. What does it all mean and what to do about it? I have no idea what to do, because the firmware is old even according to the 2017 version. Maybe because I have a version of Brio 4k Stream?
@@_Vladimiro Very interesting! Is this camera used? At this point, I would create a tech support ticket directly with Logitech and see what they have to say about this. Perhaps you have to make a jump first to a firmware version that is somewhere in the middle for it to be recognized by Logi Tune? Ya, at this point, I think the only way out is to get the manufacturer involved. Hopefully, they can shed some light. You may find that your camera works regardless at this point so you can get busy with it. Also, there may be different "flavors" of the Brio so that might be a thing there too. Not really sure.
@thomast7748 Hello Thomas! So, the short answer is no. These modern-day RAM Disks have nothing to do with making virtual RAM disks like you are probably thinking of in days long gone by. I remember in the old days where you could do stuff like this on a Mac, but this is not that. Instead, this RAM disk allows you to use EXTRA RAM, which is not in use on your computer as a disk. What I think you are looking for is to use extra hard disk space as virtual RAM - two completely different scenarios. In fact, modern-day Macs do this already. You'll notice in Activity Monitor at the bottom (when you select the RAM tab at the top), that your Mac reports "Swap used" and "Compressed" - these two techniques are essentially like making a virtual RAM disk. Today, the Mac OS handles all this for you so you can rest comfortably and not worry about it as much. If there comes a day however, where you have "RAM to burn," which is the case on some of these new computers with the M1, M2, and M3 chips when you buy up to 32+ RAM, you can easily afford to make a RAM disk (like demonstrated here) and use it as a temporary swap space to help keep your work organized, etc. Hope that is clear - but if not, please continue asking questions. P.S. I'm in the lucky position to have a fairly modern Mac Studio with 128 GB of RAM. This is WAY MORE RAM than I need, so, I end up making a 64GB RAM disk for my swap space. This is where I store my video files while editing and compressing them. After the work is done, I transfer those files to a permanent USB-connected SSD hard drive. It's a way to stay organized while using RAM as a workspace at the same time. I also have my browsers do all downloads to the RAM disk so that every time I restart my computer, the RAM disk disappears along with the downloaded files (which is what we want most of the time). I realize, too, that making a RAM disk in this way is a very geeky thing to do, and I'd venture to say that only about .00001% of the people on planet Earth are interested in working this way. 😃
@@MeTechie It was a joke because « virtual memory uses a section of the hard drive to emulate RAM ». Emulating RAM with a ROM emulated with RAM makes no sense. I didn’t know that virtual RAM have different meanings. Anyway, thank you for your detailed reply. I’m going to create a RAM disk to see if it improves the performance of toonboom storyboard. This software is not very well coded so it might make a significant difference, without causing more crashes hopefully.

@NYinSD Sorry for the delay on this. LogiTune only works with Logitech products but it's not limited to cameras. It also includes their headphones and other selected products.

I wasn't able to find anything on the lock part. I assume a long press will enable it. Mine doesn't seem to be working at the moment to test that.
The most annoying thing about this case (i have an older version) is that if the mouse pad is activated, the keyboard is so sensitive that when i start typing, it constantly takes me out of the page I’m typing on. So i have to keep disabling the mouse pad, which seems to enable me to type. Then the mouse pad keeps reenabling and the problem is a constant annoyance. What am i doing wrong? Thanks.
Hello @Janet Hague - sorry for the delay in this response. I'm not sure what to do about this. It's probably not as sophisticated as an Apple trackpad (for example), where it senses the difference between a "palm rest" and a finger. If I discover anything, I'll be sure to report it back here.

@ No Bo Absolutely! I need to talk about this. Today mine is 70 GB with a 128 MB Installed on the Mac Studio here. Works like a charm and so useful for working with large video files.
Hello @No Bo thanks for your suggestion here. I think it would be impossible to install the OS on RAM (but it was possible in the old days). Not sure how one could accomplish that exactly today. Great idea though, and wish it could be done! I'm thinking about doing a new video for Monterey and Venture and also demonstrating how to format for the more modern "APFS" type instead.
