Really appreciate the fact that you shared about Lumen but this was pretty much a repeat of what you've said in other videos. Pretty disappointed in the video - Gosh - walk us through your day and HOW you use it.
Sorry you felt that way. I did a little of this in my last what I eat in a day video. My goal was to just talk a little about the product prior to it just randomly showing up in more future videos. Since I am new on RU-vid and still growing an audience I have to assume based on my analytics that most have not watched my prior videos.
@@JenelleKetcham that make sense!! I've been binge watching your video's and finding them very enlightening so don't let comments like mine :) dissuade you. I will look forward to hearing more about your Lumen experience!
Just start taking a reading every morning and focus on that for a week or 2. That will give you your macros for the day. Try to track what you are eating as well along with when you are stopping eating and what you are eating later in the day. Because o learned the 2nd half of my day really impacts if I wake up in fat burning state vs carb burning.
I love that you have a plan, but it is very flexible. I am still in weight loss phase.(10mg Compounded Tirzepatide). Like you I eventually would like to come off the medication. But I am 70 years old, and food noise has been my nemesis my whole life. However, as all kinds of people say- “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”. If you do not check out all the variables that impact you-not anyone else- you won’t know how this will impact you. That is the one thing I’ve accepted on this journey so far- these drugs affect everyone differently. There are some common threads, but you must be your own experiment. Good luck with your plan. 🎉
I’m currently on 2.5 with my 4 week shot coming tomorrow. I’m avg about 4.5 pounds a week. The first week was 9 pounds but then tapered down from there. So thus far I’ve lost 12.5 pounds. Not sure if I should go up to 5.0 after next week
I’m am so careful giving advice on this because there are 2 common things people will say, if you are losing weight and not experiencing increase food noise or hunger stay at the dose but then the other is 2.5 is a starter dose and most will jump to 5. I did and don’t regret it but I still think I would’ve gotten the same weight loss on 2.5 or 5 for that next month.
A lot of the items you’re suggesting people add are loaded with lectins and oxalates and are not only upsetting your gut and causing you inflammation but also adding up which will eventually cause you stones . Check out Sally Norton.
As a person who was chronically constipated for years and years and years and ate buckets of veggies and tried all the supplements… all I did was get more constipated. Fiber is a lie, it’s actually inflammatory and it makes no sense at all that we have to consume something we don’t absorb to poop. Ancestrally this also makes no sense as people only had access to plants in the fall. Crazy, since cutting plants, I’ve had the best stools of my life. No bloat and no gas. I implore every constipation person to cut the fiber and eat meat and animal fats. You’ll never have a problem again.
And I will agree to disagree. I’ve never felt better since I’ve started incorporating more fiber into my diet. No longer need to take any Mag07 or laxatives to get over my mounjaro induced constipation.
Very valuable insights. Thanks for sharing - Was on Ozympic last year for 3 months and didn't lose a pound, and especially had zero appetite suppression (total waste of money).I'm a couple of weeks into Tirzepatide and I think my experience with appetite suppression will be similar to yours - food noise is reduced but not a lot of appetite suppression, so very helpful to know that there are others with similar experiences...on a positive note, I think those of use who have to do more work to lose the weight in spite of little appetite suppression will be better off in the long run by making the permanent changes needed to keep the weight off.
I was thinking about this the other day because I don’t think I had any appetite suppression until 12.5 and I didn’t like the fact I needed to set reminders to eat let alone barely eat. I actually dropped back down to 10.
Janelle, you may have already covered this, but I have a question for you. I’m new to your channel. I just started and I was wondering your dosage and when you went up and stuff like that I am at my second month and I’m at .50 and it seems to be working there, and I’m kind of afraid to go up any higher cause I get a little bit of heartburn at this dosage. Please tell me your thoughts and I’m very much enjoying your channel.
Hi Jenelle, I just started on Tirzepatide 3 weeks ago. Been walking in my old running shoes thinking I need the cushion…. Now after visiting Raesyn site, I’ve purchased new shoes, thanks for having the link! Great video, very inspiring, take care and thanks.
Thank you for your insights. I don't exercise enough. In 2 months my weight went from 272Lbs to 249.6Lbs. As you stated, my doctor halved my blood pressure medication. WIN. Not been working last 2 months and I'm grateful. Most of time getting used to side effects. Constipation, feeling fatigued. Got advice from your channel to start IV electrolytes keep to small protein meals and eat when I don't feel like it. Been a journey in areas I have not gone before.
How have you been feeling the past couple of days? I swear by my IV therapy but I also got clearance from my doctor to proceed! And I realized because I was so busy the past couple of weeks I missed a session and I could feel it. Going to get one this weekend.
I’m in maintenance and don’t plan to stop. I tried spacing out my shots a little and the hunger and food noise came back FULL FORCE. It was frightening after working so hard to reach my goal! I honestly don’t know what I’ll do once the compounds are no longer available; I’ll be instantly priced out of my medication. My insurance won’t cover it any more since I now have a normal BMI.
I do think if I experience any issues after stopping I will try semaglutide. It’s cheaper and maybe all I need is just the GLP-1 instead of both GLP-1 and GIP.
I'm looking forward to following you. I went off after insurance stopped paying for WeGovy after 18 months and I thought it would be okay but it wasn't. I hope to learn some strategies from you. I don't want to be on it the rest of my life but I'm okay if I am. It's just so expensive now even from a pharmacy. Good luck!!
Clean eating . I am not sure where you are located but I am sure there are similar companies. I live in PA and signed up for Harvie - local farms - grass feeds - clean eating . I also just got zen basil seeds . Love then ( no taste)so perfect to add in .
Good stuff! I actually have a couple farms nearby that I frequent and a butcher a couple mins down the road with quality meats, eggs, raw cheese etc. I had to start slow bc it is pricey but I feel like I now have a good idea of the staples I need for the week and will start buying quality meats!
In maintenance mode for about the past month and a half. Tinkering to see what works with a goal to titrate down to 2.5 mg 2x per month and then maybe once a month for the foreseeable future. I think GLP-1 injections do play a pivotal role in controlling inflammation and ensuring a healthy metabolism that even the best eating and lifestyle in the modern age cannot entirely equal. To help make titrating down easier I started MIC B12 a week ago. Also started on bio identical hormone replacement therapy. Should have staggered those starting points out because now I don’t know which has helped the most with curbing appetite. Key thing- was able to move down from 9mg to 8mg to 7.5mg to now 5mg over the course of a month. In my first week on 5mg have no increased appetite over the higher doses after 5 days. Never did inject the full 10mg, but stopped at 9, hit my goal weight and started thinking about maintenance. I do plan to add metformin for at least three months. Will consider adding small dose of Contrave for appetite suppression if needed. How is Lumen working for you? Been mulling over using that as a tool.
I love lumen. It’s a powerful tool. I only recommend if you are someone that likes to track and will have trust in it. Because that was my biggest hurdle for me. It’s the days of medium to high carbs that I struggled with and still do on occasion. Also I agree, that even stinking to an eating plan that helps decrease inflammation, these medications do a really good job in that area as well from what I am hearing.
nice video! Recent scientific studies show these meds stop working for appetite suppression and weight loss around Week 60 (on average) when our bodies are adapted to the increase in peptides. We adapt pretty quickly which is why there is a titration schedule when taking it. This is why a change in habits is so important. There may be some benefit to stopping and then starting back later at a low level. These drugs have great studies for T2D but not much for weight loss so this is still new! Your plan makes sense!
Yes, important statement you made…most studies that people reference are related to weight loss of a T2D taking this. It won’t be for another couple years for studies including people like me to come out.
Sounds like you’ve carefully considered how to wean off and be able to maintain your weight +\- 5%. Think there are a few studies about how to titrate down. The one I read had them titrate down over a 9 week period. Good luck and keep us posted!
It's a personal choice. No one should be mad. I am curious and excited to see how your plan works for you! 🎉❤ While I don't plan on going off, I certainly believe that I will probably give it a try. Food noise is my nemesis and I do freak out at the thought of it coming back. But who knows? Maybe if I stay on, maintain for a couple years and "do all the things", the food noise won't return! Good for you dearie! ❤
I watch every video you make. I appreciate you not trying to sell a boat load of things we "need". Love the positive attitude! I'm only 3 months in on compound T. 21 lbs down... 50 to go!
Awesome job! Now I can guarantee I won’t have a video or 2 talking about items that have helped but I am trying to not make it my focus. Plus I am not someone that jumps around to a million different supplements or skin and hair care products.
It is crazy how quickly you can shift from healthy to unhealthy! I can relate. I have talks with myself and get back on track asap cause the longer I stay on the unhealthy ride it becomes harder to get off! I like to journal and can be used as a tool to help me see the bigger picture of my goals!
I really try to say no matter what if I have a meal that deviates from my plan, the next one has to be back to being healthy. But I definitely struggled for a couple days and it was like starting all over.
Why don’t you keep the order of 10mg compound & just micro dose it at 7.5mg so it will last longer as long as compound is available. I’m in maintenance but still keep the 15mg & microdose it. Allowing for stock pile.
It's crazy.. I was on name brand Zep but PA was denied. I've lost 60 lbs, was on 7.5. I'm switching Dr's, don't think mine did a through job to get it approved. I'm not sure of my next move. I have two 7.5 pins & 2 boxes of 5 left. Thinking about talking to Fridays & see what they can do... really can't afford to pay out of pocket 🤷🏽♀️
It's crazy. Do the insurance companies stop covering blood pressure medication when the patient's blood pressure stabilizes due to the medication? No. So how is Zepbound for obesity any different? So maddening. glp1 is a hormone that is part of the endocrine system. You can detect glp-1 in the blood. Seems to me that those on tirzepatide or semaglutide who resolve their obesity through glp-1 supplimentation should be diagnosed with an endocrine hormone insufficiency that can be successfully treated with Tirzepatide or semaglutide. Maybe doctors should not be diagnosing people with obesity since obesity is a sign and symptom of the underlying endocrine hormone problem. They should be diagnosing people with a metabolic disorder /endocrine hormone insufficiency. Perhaps then the insurance companies would pay for it.
Yes!! I was just saying this the other day. Since I’ve been researching more about metabolic dysfunction and also ways I can be improving my metabolic health, I feel like putting all of us in this “obesity” bucket is maybe not the way to go with getting insurance approvals.
Zepbound for last 7 weeks. One month of 2.5mg then three weeks of 5mg. I’m 6’0” 272lbs. I have pre-diabetes. In seven weeks my weight is now 254lbs. Zepbound has eliminated desire to eat sweets. One can overeat on Zepbound but you’ll pay the price. I was already juicing before the medication and now eat 2 small meals a day. Zepbound has radically reduced my desire to eat. I’m grateful so far being offered this medication. I filled out a coupon and pay $550 a month.😅
Great video.. I struggle with calories.. scared to go up on that volume, it "scares" me to go beyond 1400. My loss had slowed down greatly after losing 60 pounds & I'm trying to eat more calories 😢
I was talking to my telehealth doc about this very thing today. That even though I was losing weight last month consuming a higher calorie count and from Whole Foods, I still struggle with seeing that calorie total in my fitness pal food journal.
@@JenelleKetchamI have eaten more or things wit more calories since we chatted about this... and i seen the scale move! Just the few days since this video, but it still makes me anxious!!
You DID NOT FAIL why? Cause you gave your body what it needed. The challenge itself is not and will not ever be what is IMPORTANT! What is important is that you stopped cause you recognized that your body needed YOU not the challenge!
