Hey, I'm Jayden, a 16-year-old drummer from Australia 🇦🇺. Since I started at the age of 10, I have grown to be truly passionate about drumming and music as a whole. 6 years later, I started this channel as a platform to share my God-given talent through both smooth and energetic covers of jazz fusion, as well as of some praise & worship music. As I'm still in high-school, and play drums at church and various school bands, I'm not sure how often I'll be posting videos here, but it will definitely be one video per week at the least.
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." ~1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV) Most importantly, I am eternally grateful for the skills that God has provided me with, and so whatever I do or however I play, it is all to His glory.
That being said, I hope that you enjoy my drum covers and the exposure to jazz fusion! 🥁🔥
Despite my liking for pocket, I wish the three had more creative intakes on the song because I feel as if it is a bit too generic... Yes I have listened to the other masterpieces, but its always Sakurai's clunky bass strings and Jimbo's very non-energetic feel, and I do very much understand that the members are becoming old, but even in Casiopea's earlier releases like Sunnyside Feelin' or Lakai at the calmer parts, you very much feel the energy that was put into it. However, I still very much enjoy their music, and even more for this yet again, amazing drum cover!
@pulsar-_-4504 haha completely get what you mean... although with songs like Red Express and Wild Guys In The Universe, those are pretty creative and energetic :)
I hate Naruse's rendition on it bc bro had a skill issue smh... 🤦♀ but i will always enjoy the drum cover played by jayden himself! Also replay 3:19 for my fav section obv where everyone shouts "Misty Lady!!"

PARADIDDLE-DIDDLES 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣 its just that rudiment with the snare on 2&4 and the kick along with the bass does take a bit to get it up to speed but once you got it then it becomes easy 😁
Hey, nice cover, the mix is so damn good I was in fact wondering how many mics you were using and where you placed them? I can see a Zoom recorder which seems to have two XLR cables plugged in if I'm not wrong. Anyways keep drumming 🥁! (Jimbo one of the GOATS btw)
Thanks so much, appreciate it 🙌🙌🙌 My mic setup is actually listed in the video description, so feel free to check that out :) and for sure- Jimbo has got to be one of if not my favourite drummer ever 🤩🤩
@crayguy Thanks so much!! I'm using a Premier Olympic drum kit, sizes 12, 13, 16, 16. not a high end kit at all but the sound's all in the tuning, heads and mic'ing :) also using a Tama woodworks 14x8 snare- love that thing... its great value for money 🤩 Cymbals: 14" Paiste PST7 light hihats 16" Paiste PST7 thin crash 18" Paiste PST7 thin crash 22" Paiste Big Beat multifunctional (the Paiste word for crash/ride 😂)
@@jvdrumming8859 Cool! Thanks for the info, I have been looking at getting a new set sometime and have been getting ideas, and yours sounds so good cause i like playing the same kind of music
You might also enjoy some Naniwa Express drum covers. Rikiya Higashihara's chops were great and unique. Believin', Shock Land, Manhattan Express, Spot, Perpetual Motion to name a few.
yes!! love their music. I'll definitely do some covers of them in the near future, i already know how to play believin, inside of you and charcoal break (although i might not do charcoal break cos its a little too easy and a little boring 😂)
I'm actually quite enjoying the simplified Jazz/Bossa Nova styled setup here! This cover was really nice and I would like to see more of it. Also may I recommend Anri's Windy Summer, or Sparkle by Tatsuro Yamashita? Very great songs and I would love to see you get more involved in City Pop or J-Rock. Again, thanks for the uploads, Jayden!
hahah the simplified setup is pretty nice!! obviously not a permanent change but ill for sure bring it back here and there 😉 and yeah I'll for sure check those songs out!! thanks for the support broski
@bruhbruh2527 oh😂😂 yeah that would make sense. im just playing paradiddles and throwing in a few KRL's. also sometimes i miss some of the ghost notes for the left hand on the paradiddle so it doesnt sound too crowded and for some variation. hope this helps 😁
ah so THAT was why u were so busy, makes complete sense doing a full replay of Jimbomba and its weirdly hard chops. thanks for this! I will regularly come back to this, also sorry for the late reply, for some reason u didnt show up in my algorithm even tho im a regular visitor (also this sounds WAY better with the timbale set up bc its jimbo's latin style that changes the feel)
😂😂 yeah I guess lolll Jimbos chops and latin jazz style are pretty confusing sometimes 😅 and yeah not sure what happened with the algorithm there hahah glad you like the timbale too- I feel like it added so much to the song 😁
thank you!!! I used a website called MVSep to create my own drumless track. Not sponsored but all you have to do is upload the song as an audio file and select the mode and it will split the file into the stems that you want 😁. with how I do it, I use the converter that splits drums, bass, vocals and other and from there I put it into Logic Pro, mute the drums and push the bass up :) hope this helps!
That Timbale on the left is a nice addition the family, who knows, maybe a 2nd cowbell or splash? Waiting for the China to come in too lol. It is a bit underwhelming to see a 1 minute video after a while waiting for another drum cover, but I ain't complaining since another cover IS in fact another cover, but it's really just up to you and ig ur busy with everything. I also noticed the camera placement shift which I like more. (Not as much as the Red Zone camera placement however...) Thanks for another video my guy and for also noticing my Mukaiya edit on IG!!
my makeshift timbale is actually better than i thought lol and funnily enough i actually plan to get exactly what you said in the future!! a splash, 2nd cowbell (probs a lower pitched one), and a china cymbal 🤩 and yeah sorry about the wait hahah this was a very short video I haven't really had much time to record but trust me when I do I've got a lot of songs I want to push out!! and yeah bro your mukaiya edit was fire 🔥🔥🔥 thanks for continually watching my videos man! appreciate it
the "timbale" is actually the snare that came with my drum set when i bought it, I just removed the snare side head & wires (since the snare strainer is broken 😔) and tuned it pretty high hahah and yeah I figured the gated reverb would sound good on this track!! thanks for the support bro :)
@@jvdrumming8859 Damn, at least your old snare got a second life now 😁 Bet there are plans for some JIMSAKU &/ Naoya Matsuoka drum covers too now you have that o_o
I guess there was a little bit of sasaki/early Jimbo inspiration 😂😂 thanks bro and I'll post my mic setup in the description of the video- I forgot to do it this time 😅
Bro goes hard on this one 🥶🥶🥶 And the whole track feels balanced with your playing, a fine split between going out and groovin'... so consistent, that I can't wrap my head around this one 👏🥴
@@jvdrumming8859 Seriously impressive dude! What's your process for learning these songs? Also If you ever wanna do double covers of Casiopea please let me know! I'm a guitarist and I need some people to play with lol
@benlockhart8721 thank you!! When I learn songs I usually listen to it a bunch of times and I mean a lot before I even play it to get a feel of the arrangement, dynamics and drum parts. Then I just play it on the kit, take a mental notes of any particular standout fills, catches/hits and then just practice until it sounds as good as I can get it to sound :) And yeah I'd love to collab!! You can DM me on Insta if you want, @jvdrumming_youtube 😁👍
I did this because my toms are pretty deep (13x10 and 12x9) so just so I could mount them a little lower, i reversed them. But if you see my newer videos, I did put my toms back to being in their "normal" orientation because I raised the height of my whole kit hahah
Sorry bro! I learn all my songs by ear so I don't have any drum notation for this song. but because its pretty popular I'm sure musescore should have it for this version!!
