Frankly, even without the rhyming and wonky voice effects, he's actually even MORE ANNOYING in this series than in Season 3. 1) he's featured in far more episodes in Headmasters, and 2) One ep in particular had him getting captured, which led to him crying (yes, crying) and begging for his life like a putz throughout most of the episode ("I DON'T WANNA DIE, DANNY--HELP ME DANNYYYY!!!")

It's not the Japanese. It's the fools that poorly translated it to English and dubbed it, a lot of them being the same people that dubbed Kung Fu flicks. Obviously, they went into this with little to no knowledge of the franchise.
It doesn't seem fair that Starscream was outnumbered 3 to 1 even if Starscream's a treacherous scumbag. Hasbro should've made two other Decepticon Classic Pretenders and the two others could easily have been Skywarp and Thundercracker since they had Starscream's shape but with different colours. Of course, Hasbro would have had to design two more pretender shells for them to distinguish them from Starscream.
This just never gets old. lol As a friend said after I showed it to him, Unicron was just misunderstood. He was wandering the universe looking for wuv. He wasn't devouring the planets. He was hugging them to death. lol
