what cheap dead cat model is it the one you mentioned? I love the deity, but wind rejection is pretty poor, do you think the other dead cat makes it better?
I’m traveling right now so I can’t be sure, but I think it’s the Movo WS4. I don’t think I ever compared it with the stock deadcat on the D4. I just needed something to use on the MKE-600.
I’ve never been happy with the sound quality of the Rode GO II wireless system. Too crispy. Lots of wireless systems sound better, but don’t have internal recording (or don’t do it properly). Someone’s finally hit that sweet spot. So yeah…imagine.
Great video. Seems to leave out the one thing that this video confirms!! The designer used a pack of cigarettes as the original model/size for the Tula. What was like actually carrying this things around for 30 days!! If I have my Zoom H5, and set of DPA 4060's, I'm all precious about everything. What this seems to be great for is popping it in my pocket ALLLL the time, instead of unloading the Zoom from the case, and grabbing mics, etc. This one fits in a short pocket like a pack of cigarettes. If this was my only setup, no. But if i can grab my keys, wallet, phone, and Tula, and make good recordings on the fly, the $250 price seems totally justified!!
Yeah it was really cool to ALWAYS have a mic/recorder with me. I have a tascam recorder and it has built in mics but it’s just so…demanding. Of you’re the type of person who would benefit from having convenient recording literally in your pocket, then this is a winner.
Allthough the card works fine when plugged in without installing any software an important part will be drivers and software to take full advantage of an audio interface. This card has some great features like IO Pro and the use of VSTs. On a windows machine it seems to work fine, but on Mac Studio and MacBook Pro (both M1) with either Ventura or Sonoma installed the software is not working properly. The driver fails to install, and if you are lucky to get it to work the IO software freezes up all the time. Now it would be great for content creators and live streamers if only the software worked on all systems. I have seen a lot of reviews online but something a lot of reviewers seems to miss is to test out and review drivers and software the comes with a soundcard. These are often a source of frustration when not working properly and it's not an uncommon problem with audio interfaces.
@@MatthewHaines thanks for reply. Seems you can route it post preamp or post eq and effects where the former option should possibly be direct monitoring when tracking in a DAW.
They are the same. And very good really. Something about this company does not ring the bells with me, but I will try to change my opinion as I think it is a good company.
Another nice review. (I also just checked your E40 review)....Well done on both. PS. Can you please tell me who made that wrap around pop filter. I'd like to check them out...THX. Phil Jersey Shore area
CAD Audio sells a foam pop filter designed for the E100sx and E40. Another viewer recently reported that they were no longer selling it directly but you could buy it from distributors. I would check with CAD Audio for availability. I have also found a pop filter that worked ok (a little fiddly but then you just leave it in place). It was made by Moukey and appears to be discontinued. If you search for "HyperX QuadCast Microphone Pop Filter - Metal Panel", this appears to be an exact copy. It's a curved metal pop filter. That's as a possible alternative.
@@MatthewHaines Thanks very much for the info. I like the curved design of the one shown in your video and hoping it will work on some of my vintage mics including my EV RE20. Thanks again. Phil Jersey Shore Area
@@ReelFactoryPro heh. Yes they still work. However, one of the transmitter clips broke off. I can still use that Tx but can’t clip it to my shirt. YMMV!
I love this mixer, it's perfect for my live band needs. Can you show how to use backing tracks, click and audio goes to monitor output, and only audio to main outputs
I just acquired an E100SX. Now where do I find a stand to fit it? Preferably a desktop type stand. I am new to studio microphones. Need some recommendations.
There are two standard size threads for microphone stands, and I believe the E100sx comes with an adapter ring. That means you can buy pretty much any mic stand and it should work just fine. Desktop stands tend to send vibration up from the desk into the microphone. Having a shock absorber like the E100sx has can eliminate some of that, but not all. On the plus side, desktop stands take up less space. If you're recording at your desk, I recommend a boom arm and - for even more isolation from vibration - mount it to something other than your desk. You can see a boom arm in many of my videos. I like the Mackie DB-200 that I'm currently using.
@@marktaylor9771 The good news is that they are inexpensive on Amazon and other places. Search for "mic stand adapter" or "mic thread adapter". You want the 5/8 to 3/8 kind, not the kind that mounts to camera tripod. Four for $8. Although if you buy a stand, it might come with one.
The Tula has a standard mic fitting so you can pick just about any stand you want. Since it doesn't have shock absorption, I don't suggest a desktop stand unless you have some way to prevent vibration coming up through it and getting picked up by the mic. The Tula also comes with a removable stand to prop it upright, but this is usually too far away from. your mouth (but fine for recording an instrument, for example). Thanks for watching!
I’m a total beginner and bought the TSRC Q7. You’re on beginner mode for a start. Mine flew great and took great pics. The drone went up 80 something meters and was very responsive. The flight path was perfect. I was impressed. My friend had the DJI mini 2. Tbh, although the DJI felt more stable, I didn’t see a ton of difference. I haven’t had any issues with the TSRC ($109). That’s just my experience though and I’m a total noob
The Apollo Twin (at least the Mk II) has a mix of hardware and software emulation on the preamps. So I don't know if it could even be compared with the 32Ci (I don't have an Apollo to test directly). The 32Ci is transformer-based which is theoretically a different sound than a FET design. These preamps sound transparent and excellent, but I can't compare directly with the Apollo.
Thanks for the review that screechy noise is a dealbreaker for me especially with artists sharing headphones. Enouth potential for errors without remembering to mute everything before twiddling the filters. I also find this product has a weird vapourware vibe in that icon provide such little detail in the manual or anywhere about the software features and how the plugins work for monitoring with reverb etc and latency. Even Harrison seem like they are fairly arms length from the product by the posts on the forum where they talk about the features based on the prototype they had a test of. Its all a bit undercooked in my view.
I understand what you're saying. I will say though that the 32Ci is a solid piece of gear. I was using it yesterday, and - feedback issue aside - it's very solid and functional.
Thanks do you know if you can add reverb vst to the aux channels in the software mixer for monitoring while recording? Also how do the pres compare to say an Audient or similar? The blurb from Harrison indicates nothing comes close at the price point.
@@endlessnameless4369 Yes you can add reverb without it being printed to your recorded track. The mic preamps sound very good. They're a transformer design, which is somewhat out of the ordinary. I can't really say how they compare to an Audient preamp because I don't have anything in-house to compare it to.
I see no reason for buying this props They are more expensive than the originals and the colours are too coloufull and shiny. I prefer to go stealthy. Sound noise is diferent frequency but not quiter.
I’ve had this headset for a couple of weeks and the audio is great except that when there’s quiet audio involved I can hear a static sound and it’s not the noise cancellation or anything but also when there’s no audio playing at all I can hear a screak sound, my best example is Minecraft, it’s a very quiet sound game and when I’m walking or running I can hear the static sound and then when I stop moving the screak sound happens but only once but it’s annoying, is this normal or not? Should I get a replacement?
Hmm, not sure. I would contact their support. Like I mentioned in the video, I heard static when the NR was turned on. But it wasn't constant like you're describing. Perhaps you have "super human hearing" turned on? I don't know why there would be a noise when you stop running in the game.
@@MatthewHaines it’s still there when I enable or disable human hearing or noise cancellation, I’ve tried every setting and I still hear it. I don’t hear it when play shooting games like call of duty, it’s just the quiet games like Minecraft I can hear the static sound and the screak when the audio goes. I can’t remember if you have a ps5 but a good example to notice the screak is when you hold the mute button on the controller to mute every audio that’s when I hear the screak it’s when the headset knows there’s no audio playing, it’s only a tiny screak and doesn’t last long but I find it annoying
@@epgcarbide134 I would definitely contact their customer service. My experience was pretty good with them when the other pair of headphones stopped working.
@@MatthewHaines sadly not (at least in the US) just got off the phone with the sales team. Seems like they only sell through distributors at the moment
Great video. I just had one question: I noticed you said it helps with feedback loops, but I wanted to know if it had an RTA and a notch filter to eliminate the feedback. It seems like it would have those features built-in.
Yes, it has RTA with multiple notch filters that are essentially automatic. While I didn't have a live performance situation where I could test it fully, it looks very robust. You can download the user manual from A&H's site and read about in detail.
I love the CQ series. I purchased the CQ-18T and literally just got home from using it at my DJ gig this evening. Honestly I have never heard my QSC 12.2 loudspeaker push so much volume. It may indeed be overkill from certain perspectives, but having a home studio, podcast, and corporate gigs requiring multiple mics, it is a very versatile toolbox. With the auto-gain, feedback assistant, and other templates, it is like having an engineer sitting next to me at all times.
I would say the 18 is probably overkill for DJing. You have more inputs, two headphone jacks, programmable soft buttons and the ability to set the unit up as it’s own wifi hub. But I don’t think those features would be beneficial to a DJ.
Yes I do! It's a good, and underappreciate mic. You might want to buy the separate, custom pop filter they make for it, since the mic is an unusual shape.

when i hear top of the line and the audio i know that mics in headsets are a joke, whatsoever wireless crap 🤣 sorry you wasted so much time recording this
Really enjoying your video's im looking for a keylight and a back rim light for my home setup, Do you recommend a couple of cameras for that purpose? Would you recommend this light for keylight and something else for back light?
Thanks for watching! If you want a rim light, you need something that's directional so that it doesn't spill everywhere. You'll need a light with at least a grid and maybe a snoot. LED panel lights can have grids but I've never seen one with a snoot. So a COB light (like this one) would be useful for that. I use a snoot on a old Godox with a Bowens mount snoot for my rim/hair light. Until recently, I used this Amaran for my key light. Just be careful if you're suspending it overhead, since there's a 1/4-20 mount holding it all in place (which can unscrew if suspending sideways from the wrong side). Maybe you could use something like the Ulanzi L2 for a rim light. It comes with barn doors and you could put a toilet-paper tube on the end and make your own snoot. I don't own one of these but they're cheap and easy to place in different locations.
