Brilliant, thank you! I've just waded through seven or eight crap videos with loud music and ego-tripping presenters that allegedly were going to show me how to wire this switch: at last, a proper video that explains it clearly! 😊
Useful video, it saved me several minutes of head scratching. I've just used it to add the same switch to an old lathe. It replaced a not so ergonomic switched spur that the previous owner had rigged up. I'm glad to have a big red button to slap should I need to.
Just checked mine which was leaking and when testing, it leaks in the same place. Cannot physically see a hole or crack but £12 on Amazon is better than a new machine!
I had the exact same issue (still in 2024). I ordered this part on amazon. It was bought more then a thousand times. Karcher failed on developing this part as it seems to leak at the same point. I hope they will build a more solid part or change the design because it's a very tight corner where the water is pressed into. If they will not upgrade it in the future I will switch brand.
Sorry!but I wouldn't bother. Bought a K2 from amazon, and after 2 impressive washes the motor re FC used to start so no pump. Sent it back and received full reimbursement. Karcher had better sort the problem out fast or risk losing there reputation.
That’s the best video I’ve seen on connecting an emergency switch to a machine. Very clear unlike the rest of the rubbish videos that show you only the brown and blue wires going to the switch. Thank you so much.
I've just ordered the same NVR shown in your video. Do you think the enclosure is robust enough to be mounted directly to the drill press housing rather than using a bracket?
I Have a Separate Emergency Stop Button and a Seperate Stop/Start Buttons in there own Housings ! Could these be wired up in some manner that's safe and professional as Live would need to go to ES Housing and Neutral would need to go to Stop/Start Housing ! ???
Hope this helps to clarify things for some: Pin A1 is only present on the 5-pin version and is mainly used for motor protection if required (overload etc) and usually connects to the motor. ‘IF’ your motor does not use or need the A1/5th pin then it has to be connected (shorted) to pin24 or the switch will probably not work! This is a workaround to make the 5-pin switch work in a 4-pin situation !! Best rule is to buy the unit with the correct switch in it! 4-pin or 5-pin (4-pin, 5-pin and 110v 4-pin versions are available!)
I had to open my karcher to fix but did not have a screw driver for the bootom screw to deep and narrow so i used a angle grinder to open when fixed i sticky taped it back together works well hope this helps
Hi, what’s the use for the washer? Is it to stop the quick release mechanism to slide off completely? If yes can you tell me where the washer goes, I’m having this issue. Thanks
It’s a pity you removed the paint. As you know, the majority of Record hand tools are blue. The red ones were specially designed by my grandfather, Charles William Hampton, the sion of the founder, Charles Hampton and they were of superior quality and cost more. My name? You probably guessed it … Charles Hampton, born 1949.
I never knew Record produced red clamps, I thought this had been painted red by a previous owner, hence why I used the Roundel Blue. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
My one seems to be leaking at the part that has that clear rubber tube connected. That cylinder is leaking, and the pressure of the water is lower than it should be?? No cracks or anything, so I have no idea what's the problem is. Maybe a rubber grommet needs to be replaced? It's really confusing as it has been fine until a random leak.
Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ru-vid.comUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
Thanks for just showing how to get the bloody cardboard bit off a new knife. Had me absolutely baffled! Instructions leave a LOT to be desired, ie there AREN’T ANY 🤬
My leak is on the actual cylinder head or the thrust assembly, whatever it is. Espares sell the part for £87. Ewaste, more like: time to bin it because its cheaper to buy a new one. The motor assembly is full of watery grey oil and will all fall apet when opened. There are many components inside which can fall on the floor without care. Partmaster do exploded views of the motor assembly if it does all fall apart. As I said, my spray eminates from within a nook of the cylinder head; the black part visible further back from your leak location in your vid. I've spent an hour pulling this apart and it'll take another half hour to reassemble: unless your leak is in the same place as in the vid, I recommend trying epoxy and not disassembling it further as it's a waste of time. Would be good if you showed hoe you fitted your purchased part to the machine, not that it matters in my case though.
Today I just find same pressure washer on waste yard for free lol Have no ideas what is wrong just bring home trying and is work great but have exactly same problem so having now pressure washer for free just need buying new part for few quid. Big thank you for this video and sharing your experience.
Thank you so much you have saved me a shed load of money.first time I saw your video I was wiring up a old Myford lathe and without your help I could never have done this without paying a electrician.now to day I’m wiring up a Axminster wood lathe….same again…without your tutorial and help I could never in a thousand years done this….thank you so very much for taking your time to show us all how to do this….👍
I've just bought one of these drills second hand and it didn't come with the drift key. I've looked elsewhere and seen similar drift keys but they come in different sizes. Please can you advise if this has a particular number and or the sizing of the drift. Thanks
