this is the best video on how to lube your switches tutorial! It make sense to lube the sides only since that's the part that the stem will run through. This fulfilled the question I've had for a long time about "what is the purpose of lubing 4 sides of bottom housing?". Thank you so much for the detailed video, clear, precise, and sharing tips about what to use to practice, and what might happen.
I joined 3 groupbuys with Hiney. There's Ibis, tkl one pc, and lady bird. The former 2 gbs took 1.5++ year from gb to fullfillment. Currently, I'm still waiting on my lady bird after 2 years (for perspective, the keyboard arrived to him since Aug 2023). I get it. He's a human. There's other priorities and stuff. Guess what, all of us do. I gave him the money when he went 'full time' as a maker in the hobby so I had different expectations on the fulfillment. Talking about his mental state. What about people who gave him money? Being in his groupbuys have been the worst mental experience in this hobby for me. And I've been in close to 50 if not more of keyboard groupbuys (it's funny because I was also scammed, Noxary, and it still didn't feel as bad as waiting on him with all the excuses) The thing that irritates me the most is when people who are not even in his gb and say it's ok for him to keep procrastinating on the fullfilment and give a pat on the back because of his past reputation while I can only accept the delays. Take a look at the latest Hand Engineering gb, the mini 2000s, for example. People thought it's gonna be a disaster but not really. Lewis at least knew and accepted that he didn't have a capacity/time to fullfil and decided to have other vendors tookover. And I already got my 2000 s (it started gb after the lady bird btw). Sorry for such a long rant but I needed this. I wanted to reached out to you so many time Simon to ask you to give him a push. I know he's your friend but man.
Seems like it’d be a hot take in this comment section but I don’t believe that someone can just be a hobbyist but still continue to have an active storefront that is taking orders. I totally understand that vendors are just humans, but if I’m putting in an order to a website I do expect a level of consistency when it comes to order fulfillment. If that isn’t possible, I don’t believe it’s fair to continue to take money from paying customers. Sure I don’t expect Amazon levels of fulfillment but at least something predictable, like orders are packed on Saturdays and shipping out on Mondays, with an order cut off day like Wednesday or even Tuesday the week prior. Just my two cents as someone who has purchased from Hiney before and continues to love his products.
Hiney is a good keyboard lad. I also went G710+ for my first mechanical keeb! MX browns and then got a unit with mx blues back in 2016! Thanks for sharing your story brother

Hello I want to buy the Nj98 keyboard but I don't know what specs to choose, these are the options: *steel plate - gateron milky yellow pro *Steel plate - BOX taro ice cream pro *Brass plate - gateron milky yellow pro What do you recommend? I would still like it to not sound so much
I just love how cute a little 60% is with WKL of HHKB blockers. My Arc60 is my daily and plateless it just feels incredible. With that said, an interesting looking 60% is hard to come by. At least with a bigger board you have room for interesting design elements on the top case and side profile.
Hate to say it, but I think that the Neo80 already beat this to the punch, with a cheaper price (with weights), the same ball-catch system (but with a magnetic connector instead of ribbon cables), and some pretty solid sound
These timestamps are optimized so that when you click on any timestamp, you start hearing the sound directly and can quickly compare the sounds. But it is annoying that when you click any timestamps youtube scroll your screen to top. Here is how to fix it: Since Simon pinned my comment and it will now appear right below the video, you can use this trick to navigate between timestamps with peace: First, set your screen's zoom level to around 75%-90% (adjust based on your screen resolution). If you're watching in theater mode, exit theater mode. Then, reduce the width of your browser window until the comment section is almost no longer visible but not. Keep the height of the window as tall as possible. Pinned comment and video should be visible without scrolling if not keep zooming out till they are. This way, when you click any timestamp in the pinned comment, your screen won't scroll up, allowing you to quickly listen to different sounds without interruption. here is a example screenshot if you didn't understand what i am talking about: imgur.com/a/2dEdcM1
Well, no, I don’t buy it. That’s very unfortunate, I was 100% going to buy this but I won’t. This isn’t a $155 board, it’s a $205 board since we’ve now established brass is mandatory. $215 with hotswap, and who doesn’t want hotswap in 2024. $225 with TKD, which if you’re going to get a TKD board is only fair for you to get a TKD coating. Now suddenly it’s not the same price at all. Why all those options? It doesn’t make any sense. You know what’s best, give me brass and PC, make it one board, and optimize the price for this one board. It would have been much much better for this Cycle 8 to be a $190 for everyone, with the brass and all, than a $155 for the ones who didn’t look into it and $205/$215 for others. Also you have to work better with your distributors because here in Europe it’s a €270 board. And no please don’t tell me taxes or shipping, I know the thing it’s not my first time, and it doesn’t add up, €270 is $290 and you don’t pay $80 in taxes.. Something is seriously wrong here.
