Cameron, this was incredible. The mass vs pressure was an absolute lightbulb moment for me. You're so good at distilling complex concepts down to understandable and practical explanations. Thank you!
Love the content Cam. In depth and data driven explained in a great way. Your way of analysing swings reminds me a lot of the same procedure we use when debugging code in software engineering. Thanks ❤
Ok, I only saw the towel online. In one of the previous videos you had with a young competitive golfer you had stated some about 20” in spacing between your toes for a 7 iron. I am super interested in better understanding the theory with that concept as I tend to be pretty wide. If you ever decide to do a video on that it would be much appreciated
I swing 102-105 with 6 and still can rarely carry much farther than 200. Makes me think about how much i can get out of just hitting it more pure than swinging hard. As for feeling, i don't like the weight to back side feeling. I prefer to put all the pressure into my back big toe in the back swing, then in the down swing move all my pressure to each heel and try to move the back heel away from the ball and front heel to the ball. Works for me, but i also hit massive pull hooks into the woods every once in a while.
You know you smash factor. I’m swinging it in the mid 90s and carry it 200 regularly. My spin numbers seem low and ball speeds slower than Rory’s but still respectable at 130.
What a wonderful lesson with a brilliant coach and a very talented junior golfer. Sterling has a very bright future in golf with an amazing team behind him.
I saw Jordan hit a one-legged bunker shot last week in Hartford. His short game is amazing. When he has no one to talk to, do all these conversations happen internally?
Hey this is off topic but when I swing my driver my right hip goes straight to the right and ever since this occurred my driver has been a lot less consistent, also do you have a drill for that
Great lesson. Tiger and his coaches always talk about the 9 windows method. I love hitting knockdowns. You're right, my knockdown 6 can be longer than my stock 6.
What you demonstrate as 'extending' looks much more like horizontal rotation bias. I am coached to extend but this shows as pushing upwards with left leg & side. No emphasis on the latest trend which is to almost flay the hips open. They will open but this occurs as a result, not cause. Also, why not create the 'stacked' joint earlier...during the backswing? If you wait until transition to go lower then it delays the left side push up and maximum ground forces. Your action moves bottom of arc a long way forward too. Sliding laterally is important but not with the whole body. The lower half of body should move laterally towards target (through the wall) but the upper body should stay further back which will show the spine angle the top players display through impact. As you move post impact with left side extension, the chest will pivot and you finish posted up on left side.
Will try this. Have you ever seen anyone chip with claw grip Cam? There was a guy on tour who used to chip one handed right? Or still is? I believe poor chipping comes from fear of interaction with the ground in most cases. MINE in particular!
Incredible channel. Glad to have come across your content. Instant subscriber. Concept of moving mass to the left has finally got me compressing the ball. Interestingly, swing speed is up about 4mph in addition to ball speed gains. However, I’m noticing my spin rate is probably about 1500-2000 less than desirable for that club. For instance, 9 iron (strong at 39 - Titleist T200) chs 85, bs 108, vla 21, aoa -5, spin 6250. I would assume loss of spin is somewhat expected with decrease in dynamic loft. Does this now become an equipment issue at a given swing speed? How can I produce 21 degrees vertical launch with 8000 rpm spin at 85mph chs? Even more negative AoA?
Thanks for this video. After I practiced these drills on my home mat for a few days, I went to the range and definitely saw an improvement in my ability to strike cleanly from various lies. However, I seemed to pop up my driver at first. I was able to adjust, but it made me curious. Is there a similar set of drills to help coordinate the release of the driver for optimal face contact, since we need to hit up, not down? Thanks for any help or suggestions.
@@CameronMcCormickGolf Yes, I watched that video, thanks. Great content, but none of it was news to me. I came up with my own set up for the driver, though. I set a pool noodle to suspend perpendicular to the target line about 8 inches off the ground, and about two clubhead lengths before the ball. Then folded up a towel to sit up about an inch and half on the target line, one clubhead length past the ball. Swing under the noodle and above the towel to get a good angle of attack. Then I used spray powder on the face to practice center contact. So far it has been effective for me.
Cameron, are you also turning the the club head down some for that lower dynamic loft.Another words using the motorcycle method with hands and wrists. If so can you do a video, if you haven’t how this is done properly to get that lower loft.
I like to mostly focus on my grip and setup. I feel like when I do these two correctly, it allows my body to freely flow and allows me to use my wrists correctly. And obviously practice is the most important thing. I’ve found Dan Grieve’s system to work the best for me. There are many good systems and techniques out there just stick to one that you believe in and will dedicate yourself to.
@@CameronMcCormickGolf Please keep up the content. Your videos are very helpful. Your drill where you put a golf ball down between two alignment sticks (forget what you called it) has helped my irons tremendously. My AoA is 1-2 degrees up. Working on compressing the ball and hitting it more square. Thanks again.
Hi Cameron great video love the in-depth instruction.. I was wondering if you could tell me where you bought the bar stool in the background.. kindest regards John.
